Culture › Re: Ooni Disowns Statement From His Palace On Issue With Oba Of Lagos by Tolexander: 3:03am On Apr 29, 2017
Ooni Ogunwusi insisted he would continue to hold Oba of Lagos in high esteem and continually give him respect not only as one of the foremost traditional rulers, but also as an elderly Oba.
Ooni Ogunwusi doesn't seem to understand the significance of the seat he is occupying.

He doesn't know he is now a deity and older than everyone of any age

These our modern Kings should be sincerely and seriously taught the culture before being coronated.

They don't have to be Physical neighbors but neighbors who can influence. See the amount of technology developed during the Ww1 and Ww2. All the countries that directly participated learnt a lot of technology from each other.

I am not promoting war o. But people learn more in times of hardship involving life and death
But Ethiopia also fought Italians in second italo-abyssinian war in one of the series of events leading to the second world war.
How come Ethiopia has learnt something similar to nothing?

@ Tolex, nice having you quote my comment. The people are not dumber like you stated, they've just been psychologically battered and the leaders have mastered the art of deception and public manipulation.
it's a pleasure tapping from your wisdom sir!

Almost every European country was at a time being ruled by King/Queen, Emperor/Empress, Czar/Czarina et al. Revolution liberated them from these absolute powers. Though the revolutions came in different form and different times.

We all have the power to replace the leaders, many times the replacement is always worse than the replaced. There were times successful coups were plotted in Africa against the leaders, the coup plotters most times become worse than their predecessors after getting to the the throne.

The followers in the Democracy practicing country have allowed their leaders to rule them through various means of manipulations; "divide and rule", cash, tribalism, religious sentiment et al. Only fools can be manipulated by those means.

Only a bull can be lead to the slab to be butchered due to its stupidity by the butcher, no butcher dears leading a buffalo to a slab like a bull

Instead make dem donate constant electricity.

If there is electricity, the will be functioning fan to blow away all mosquitoes. Moreover, there will be no need to open the windows and doors to receive air since fans and ACs are functioning.

None of the above is limiting us!

We are just blessed with dumb leaders who do not see any reason why they should invest in science and technology. huh
Lie!

If the leaders are dumb, the followers are "dumber".

We all have the power to choose who we want to lead us and how we should be lead. You must fight for your freedom to be totally free.

The "third estate" of the French revolution and the "tennis court oats" comes to mind.

3. Lack of Competition from Neigbours
When your neighbors are no better than you, you relax. If Cameroon acquires a Submarine today, I can bet it with you that within 18 months, Nigeria will acquire her own.
USA is better than Mexico and Canada, but these two latter countries are relaxing. How come?

Or better rephrased, Mexico and Canada aren't competing with the US, how come US isn't relaxing?

quoting Otto Von Bismarck: " The Americans are truly a lucky people. They are bordered to the north and south by weak neighbors and to the east and west by fish".

With proper irrigation, grasses can still be grown in sufficient amount in Sambisa to feed the cattles.

All it takes is good planning and strong will.

Politics › Re: Can't Sambisa Forest Be Turned Into Grazing Reserve For Our Herdsmen? by Tolexander: 7:19pm On Apr 28, 2017
goziedave:
On a serious note, we heard that the Sambisa Forest is wider
than Abia, Imo and Anambra States' land mass combined. If
that is the case, why worry about creating grazing lands in
the South and West? Why not focus on clearing Sambisa?
That will serve multiple purpose. First, Boko Haram Fighters
will no longer have a forest to hide hostages in or operate
from. Second, our herdsmen will have land for their cattle to
graze in. Third, all these bloody clashes between herdsmen
and farmers will stop.
Just thinking and wondering.
NOTE: Let's put our heads together on this. Don't use this as
an opportunity to abuse anybody or any tribe or even the
government. Let's just think together.
The herdsmen graze to the southern part of the country cos of the amount of rainfall received by the country monthly increases to the south as a result of the maritime wind of the South West wind blowing over the atlantic ocean to the land, The North East wind blowing across the Sahara desert and intertropical convergence zone.

This explains why the southern part of Nigeria experiences more rainfall than the northern part.
Sambisa forest experiences lower rainfall than most part of Nigeria. Sambisa forest has lesser grass.

Even maintaining the four regions under this Unitary system will be worse than the 36states we have now.

Ekweremadu has pitched his tent with Saraki and both running the upper chamber. He could have influenced Saraki to initiate the revocation.

All I could read in the piece is the calling of "marginalization of Igbo" as a result of the absence of true federalism in Nigeria.

The irony of the issue is that the regionalism, similar to true federalism, we were practising in the first republic was replaced with "decree 34" (Unitary System) by Major General Johnson Thomas Umudike Aguiyi Ironsi, an Igbo man.
