Common afam!
The colour is an outcome of his imagination! Why didn't he choose other colours but those two ones?
Ghana gained independence in march 6, 1957 before nigeria, aren't they of the same west african and (many) vegetation country with nigeria, why didn't their flag designer choose the green and white colour?
You don't need basing your judgement on the finished product but the rationale behind the concept. |

Akpangbon: If its Nigeria, they will heap curses on the government. SA with her incredibly bad crime records still go out there defending themselves on atrocities committed in their country. hold it! South Africans are not defending their president because of the incidence but for their hatred for nigerians. You can read what their comments are down the post. Was it not the same South Africans yabbing their president when he apologised for the deported nigerians on the yellow fever card? |

Politics › Re: Nigerian National Honours & Their Meaning by Tolexander: 6:04pm On May 02, 2013 |
Kizyte: Nigerian National Honours are a set of orders and decorations conferred upon Nigerians and friends of Nigeria every year. They were instituted by the National Honors Act No. 5 of 1964, during the Nigerian First Republic , to honour Nigerians who have rendered service to the benefit of the nation.
The Nigerian National Honours, in descending order of importance, are:
Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR)
Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON)
Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR)
Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON)
Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR)
Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON)
Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR)
Member of the Order of the Niger (MON)
The GCFR and GCON are customarily respectively bestowed on former occupants of the office of President of Nigeria and Vice President of Nigeria including former military heads of state of Nigeria and Chiefs of General Staff. The GCON is also customarily bestowed on the Chief Justice of Nigeria and the President of the Nigerian Senate during their first year in office, while the CON is customarily bestowed on Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. |

Afam4eva: I've always asked myself this questio: what's so difficult in coming up with a green, white and green flag? I mean it's green and white. the question you should have asked yourself is that, was he the only one that submitted the entry for the design of the national flag? How come his was the most prefered and acceptable? Every finished work always seems simple to the eyes, only the inventor knows how many midnight candles he burnt during the process of the invention. Not the colour of the flag but the genius concept behind it. |

If they want any age falsified nigerians to be strip of any honour, they should order the presidency to recall all the nigerian football players at the under-age level that won trophy for nigeria and strip them of the honours! |

Lagos – A pop star, Innocent Idibia (a.k.a, 2Face), says he will do his best to influence the youth to be resourceful and self-reliant.
Idibia said in Lagos on Thursday that he would tour some tertiary institutions to inspire students to develop their talents.
He noted that education institutions were among the most important sections of any society.
“It is the schools that produce the leaders of tomorrow; so, social development which are happening outside their walls should be taken to them.
“The music industry in Nigeria is a very strong opinion shaper in the society; getting closer to students is a very good way of influencing their thoughts and inspiring them”.
Idibia said that the Nigerian music industry had become a force to reckon with, adding that the country was blessed with numerous talents.
“We have successfully built a veritable industry that represents the country internationally, and many talents exist in the schools.
“ I am a product of a school – the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Enugu.
“That is one of the major reasons IMT is on my tour list.
“ It is a very emotional choice for me because the school was a very important part of my development.
“That was where Plantashun Boiz began and I have very fond memories,” Idibia said.
Idibia is set for a month-long tour of selected tertiary institutions in the country this month.
The schools include the universities of Lagos, Benin, Port-Harcourt and Abuja.
Idibia has practised as a solo artiste for almost a decade.
One of his biggest hits is the “African Queen” which is the soundtrack of a Hollywood movie, “Phat Girls’’. (NAN) http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/05/2face-to-tour-schools-to-inspire-students/ |
Politics › Strip Oshiomhole Of CON honour, PDP Tells Jonathan by Tolexander(op): 4:58pm On May 02, 2013 |
ABUJA- THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Thursday, urged President Goodluck to strip governor Adams Oshiomhole of the national honour of the rank of Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON he gave to him in 2011.
Addressing Journalists in Abuja, Chairman, Edo State chapter of PDP, Chief Dan Orbih said that the move has become imperative against the backdrop of alleged age falsification by the governor on year of birth, adding that Oshiomhole is sixty-one years old and not sixty as celebrated.
The PDP also said it has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar to proceed and investigate into the matter to establish whether or not a case of alleged perjury may have been committed by the governor.
Orbih who noted that the date filled by the governor in his INEC form CF001 as his date of birth which was 4th April, 1952, said that the governor gave the same date of birth in his voter’s card, with serial number PU12/06/10/001.
He said, ‘’It is on record that on November, 12, 2008 at the official inauguration of Governor Oshiomhole for his first tenure, his citation which stated his date of birth as April 4th, 1953 was read in his presence and the presence of the Edo state Chief Judge. In a similar event at his inauguration for his second term in 2012 his citation with April 4th, 1953 as date of birth was also read in his presence and the presence of the Edo state Chief Judge.’’
But reacting, governor Adams Oshiomhole who described the call by Orbih that President Jonathan should de-robe him of the CON honour as laughable. More details soon http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/05/strip-oshiomhole-of-con-honour-pdp-tells-jonathan/ |

The fact is that he is automatically and constitutionally screened out to contest if the 6years single term tenure system is passed into law. Why then is he telling us that. From your point, you think it is mandatory for a first term president to automatically win the election for the second term. From which constitution is that written? 4years double term is the best so that we can be able to eliminate any underperforming and clueless presidents or governors after their 1st term with our vote. |

All these electricity improvements i hear daily are just here. The electricity distribution in my district is just going from grace to grass daily even with the claimed additional generation of the MW generated.
There are some things that are logically infeasible, going by our national standard. For how many years did they spend generating this claimed 4000MW of electricity? It is very insane coming to tell us by december, they would be generating 10000MW of electricity. |
