Politics › Northern Elders To Jonathan: Leave Govs Alone, Solve Nigeria’s Problems by Tolexander(op): 7:44pm On May 08, 2013
Soni Daniel, Regional Editor,
North
Northern elders Wednesday
examined the rift between
President Jonathan and
governors under the aegis of
the Nigerian Governors’
Forum, NGF, and passed a
verdict on the matter:
Jonathan should concentrate
on the enormous task of
solving Nigeria’s problems
and stop dissipating energy
on needless war with
governors.
Similarly, the NEF asked
Jonathan to accept the
governors as partners in
progress and desist from
treating them as opponents,
as they were elected by
Nigerians to serve the
diverse needs of Nigerians
from the respective states
just as Mr. President.
The position of the NEF was
relayed by its spokesman,
Prof Ango Abdullahi, while
speaking in an exclusive
interview with Vanguard in
Abuja.

Celebrities › Ifeanyi Uba Donates N5m Tochurch by Tolexander(op): 5:20pm On May 08, 2013
A governorship aspirant and
philanthropist, chief Ifeanyi
Uba has donated N5m to the
Anglican church of Nigeria in
Ukpo to support this year’s
synod in the area.
Speaking after the donation
Uba hinted that he had
earlier given N64 million
naira to Bishop Alex Ibezim,
the bishop of the Awka
Diocese for the building of
his residential house at the
Bishop’s court.
Uba said he was at the
church synod to give thanks
to the Almighty God for His
blessings which he said
increased since he gave the
bishop money for the
building of his house.
” I have come to thank God
because since the time I gave
the money, I have been
receiving blessings and
having more openings in my
businesses”, he said.
He said he decided to contest
for the governor of Anambra
state come 2014 to move the
state to the next level in all
the sectors of the economy
of the state and urged his
colleagues to play the game
according to the rules.
” I have been empowering
the people of this state, the
needy, the widows, the aged
and youths while in my
private business, so you
could imagine what I would
do when I get into the
Government House as the
next governor of this state”.
Uba told his supporters not
to be deterred in their
struggle to ensure that he
became governor in 2014,
saying that the evil
machinations of his political
enemies would always failed
because he had all the time
defeated them.

Sports › Man Utd Shares Sink Asstoried Boss Ferguson Bowsout by Tolexander(op): 4:59pm On May 08, 2013
Manchester United shares
sank four percent in opening
US trade Wednesday after
the football club’s legendary
manager Alex Ferguson
announced his retirement.
In the early minutes of trade,
the shares, listed on the US
Nasdaq exchange by the
club’s US owners last year,
were off 4.1 percent to
$18.01.
Earlier Wednesday, the
Premier League champions
shocked the sporting world
when they announced that
Ferguson will retire at the
end of the season, ending
the most successful
managerial reign in English
football.
Ferguson, 71, guided United
to 13 Premier League titles
and two European
Champions League crowns in
26 years in charge at Old
Trafford.
He will remain at United as a
director and club
ambassador, and said he
was confident he was
stepping down with the
team in good shape.
“The decision to retire is one
that I have thought a great
deal about and one that I
have not taken lightly. It is
the right time,” Ferguson
said in a statement.
United, owned by the family
of US investor Malcolm Glazer,
did not immediately name a
replacement, but most
speculation focused on
Everton’s David Moyes to fill
Ferguson’s seat.
Despite the fall at the news,
the team’s shares were still
trading 27 percent above the
$14.00 initial public offering
price last August.
At that time the shares barely
treaded water amid worries
over the team’s ability to dig
out from under a pile of
debt.
But they rebounded
beginning in November with
improved quarterly profits
thanks to a slew of
sponsorship deals and huge
tax credits and a reduction
of their debt burden,
acquired in 2005 after the
Miami-based Glazers’ heavily
leveraged takeover.

OAM4J: Tolexander did not edit or manipulate anything. He quoted the story as it was from Vanguard. Vanguard edited the title and the story after. If you are are familiar with Vanguard website you will know they do this many times, sometimes they remove the story completely. If you mirror what he posted on goggle, it will link you to Vanguard.

Also learn to make your point without throwing insults.
thanks OAM!

I wasn't aware that the news had been changed until i got to check back a couple of hours ago.
Do they wan't me to edit a news that has a source!
Politics › Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by Tolexander: 4:14pm On May 08, 2013
Dede1: Unless Tolexander is mentally challenged or pure deceit, a person capable of navigating to this forum could easily discern there was something wrong with the article. How on earth could “HUNDREDS of angry Biafran military pensioners besieged the Oyo State Secretariat saying they regretted fighting against Biafran soldiers”. It is very moronic indeed. This act goes to explain the level of intellect of the trolls encountered on this forum recently.
i understand the war inflicted a progeria on your childhood, little wonder you grow wild any time you see anything biafra.

So you expected me to edit a news from a source?
Well, test isn't require to be a member her.

20. Cooperate with the

honestly, rule 20 is what i am trying to respect. Of course i know what i can say to you.

Who are you? An ordinary moderator on a faceless forum.

Why on earth will i edit the news i copied and paste.

Can't believe you are so myopic to the extent that you are so ignorant that a news from an online paper could be edited.

So you meant the administrator that moved the topic to the homepage is so naive of his responsibility and clueless to the extent that he couldn't verify a news from the source before moving a very sensitive news to the homepage.
That is a direct slap on Seun Osewa if you refused to acknowledge that.

Anyway, that is the major problem nigeria is facing, giving the mantle of leadership to a clueless zoologist.
So what does one expect from a mechanic in forum moderation!

This is one of the main reason i respect afam.
