It is interesting how tech is worth more than energy. More so, how d USA dominates d world.

If d usa implodes, assuming our fine NSEMPA analysts are right, who will take its place? China? India? Russia? Nigeria? grin
China, ofcourse.

On the Nigerian exchange floor, the lowest amount you can buy a stock is 10% less of its last closing price. Additionally, the highest amount you can sell a stock is 10% more of its last closing price. Hence, currently, you can't buy PRESCO less than N142.60

In the case of PRESCO:
Current price is 158.40;
Minimum cost price is 142.60 per unit;
Maximum selling price is 174.30 per unit.
Quite illuminating. Thank you.
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Toluway: 9:33am On Aug 05, 2022
Can you enlighten me on this please? For days now, Presco has been staying at #142 offer without a single bid. I've tried several times to by below 142 and ngx has been turning down my bid, saying i cant bid below #142 ; in a situation where there is 0 bid! I don't understand.

@Dum20, granted there is nothing essentially wrong if government invests and make profit.
However, you might wish to recall that investing is not actually the business of government.
You might also wish to note that the primary responsibility of government is to provide enabling environment for business to thrive, especially in provision of necessary infrastructure and social amenities like good roads, electricity, security, low interest loans/micro finance for small and midium scale industries and so on.
When government does it's own part, entrepreneurs from home and abroad would be naturally attracted to invest.
I think that is the point SonofElElyon is trying to make.

NNPC plans to list in the Nigerian stock exchange market by middle of next year, as it becomes a private company, after necessary official modalities were put in place by President Mohammed Buhari on Tuesday.

Good day house. I opened a cscs account few days ago. I thought someone said i would see details of my dividends payout and outstanding ones on the account.
But it is not so. I only see list of my stocks and a couple of lost stocks. Nothing about dividends.
It's alright though.

Have you? There is a difference between reading a few reported rumors here and there and actually reading the facts.

It seem he speculated with other people's moneys, buying businesses some of which were not even quoted on d stock exchange at the time. The markets seem to have consolidated his wealth not creat it.
Agreed, I'm an illiterate.

Please is anyone here very close to any of the officials of African Prudential Registrar?
The desk officers have made me to send so many documents over and over again.
Now, they have refused to communicate me further on whether I have met their requirements or not.
Any time i called them, they told me they would send me a mail; and they would not.
The registrar has not been paying dividends on my stocks under their supervision for a long time.
I don't want to start taking official actions yet; you know such process can be stressful. Can anyone help?
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Toluway: 9:08am On Jul 03, 2022
Why can't we put in place a system whereby immediately you buy a stock, your broker would provide the relevant registrar with the same KYC documents you provide it while opening an account, for the registrar to process your dividend promptly as and when due?

Why do SEC, CSCS and relevant administrator continue to keep quite,
and fold their hands on this dividend issue while they continue to publish list of unclaimed dividends running to billions?
Why do Africans continue to sink in the abyss of mental and physical laziness, ineptitude, lack of vision and innovation !?
Our political leaders are just a reflection of the larger society. A bundle of fatty-pot-bellied and fat-headed morons.
You write the registrars, no response, you call them on phone, no response. If the finally respond, they ask you to scan and send documents on your life history!!!
Can we form an associate of stock investors and launch complaints to all the relevant "fanthom" authorities? The force of our cooperative efforts, should be able to move these gluttonous zombies.

Lol. This is just it Oga Toluway.
Calculate 10% on top of the closing price of the bid today, add it to the closing price, should give you the max for the next day.....
Be on your PC by 9.20/9.25, fill in the buy column and just be waiting for the minutes to clock 9.30/9.31am........and submit ....to be among the earliest bidders ......

Profit takers/the fearfuls used to sell earlier, your bid will be filled up.... smiley

Same applies to selling.........calculate 10% of closing price and minus from the closing price, place your offer earlier.......

Remember the rules of some stocks with 0.01, 0.05 or 0.10 range mvmt.

For instance:
INTBREW closed @8.90 yesterday, 10% of 8.90 is 0.89, the highest trading % for today would be 8.90+0.85 =9.75.....which you can see in market today.

This early bidding or offer placement has its own advantage and disadvantage as well........pays jijoists mostly. smiley
In that case, are you saying i should add price limit? Otherwise, bidding at market price should have taken care of the 10% thing.

Yap my lord, you can only be everywhere if you're a jijoist. Unless you're a the Oracle himself. Or a macurial analyst like Oneswiftguy. This bull was a big surprise, and it is so selective and avoided many of my stocks. and i came late. Very wise to jump into moving buses selectively. And it gives you the advantage of knowing about many stocks. God is with us.

It's inexperience that will make you to be chasing a hot stock. By the time your offer is filled, it would probably be end of that bull round. One thing is certain, other opportunities will show up. You must understand that you are also competing with your stockbrokers. To win the game, you must be ahead of them i.e. be comfortably sited in the bus before they identify it.

PEACE
Not everyone can be like Baba Agba. Who ever knew that this bull would start when it did?
In my inexperience therefore, i have decided to start throwing my bids into moving vehicles of selected shocks that i would be ready to keep, if things ho hazy. It has paid off, though i started late. There was a stock that gave 10% on the very day i jumped in, and it's a great stock that would trend for long. Presco. This stock already gave me 300 elsewhere but it was a meagre investment. I re-invested in it. You can also buy Okomu at any price and go to sleep for now. Same witj mtn. All these are expression of my own personal conviction and opinion.

Please i need help from God spirited man of good spirited man, whichever is applicable.

I need to cry out! I've never seen this kind of thing.
Does it mean that all doors are closed to other buyers when a stock is trending/ on full bid?
I have been seating with computer for the past three days trying to buy some four stocks and it has been impossible, eventhough i didn't add price limit!

Morgan capital says no one wants to sell. For three days? Is it only a falling stock that is buyable? There is ting of frustration running down my spine.
Aunty Mercy, et all, please help.

My portfolio value as at friday last week(as seen on morgan capital dashboard) went down this morning. At the begining and end of every trading day, I check my dashboard to see the value of my portfolio, then i look for the stock that has affected it negatively or positively.
Meanwhile my average price for fidelity is now 2.71. I did serious addition of the stock to my portfolio.
I opined that they were very generous with Fidelity Bank mark down. I think the price reduced so marginally.

I therefore use this moment to request four wise men here, which includes Honourable Agbalowomeri, Sister Mcy and the Oracle himself, and mPeace to use the necessary diplomatic machinery to bring him back.
He has been with us for a long time and i think it would be unfair if we allow him to be provoked out of this place. Even at that, what happened was a very minor issue that ought to have passed away as a common joke.

People do joke about Peter's nuances in this forum without necessarily insulting his person and he doesn't take offence. The post of dollarwoman is apparently one of those jokes.
The way you now take it upon yourself to descend on him/her in this manner looks quixotic.
I know it must have been a slip of hyper-reaction which should be bye-passed though. Peace.
