No vex Sir Emanuelewumi, just digressing.
Prior to 2008, you would just buy a stock and go to sleep, without fear that players would have dumped on you before you sign into your account the following morning.
In 2008, it took two weeks before i knew i had made over 200 percent profit on gtb and zenith, and i had no problem. But today, you have to stay glued to your stock trading platform while someone is running a commentary on updates.
The system has indeed undergone a radical change, making it difficult to pose as a gentleman investor.
This is not to say that you cant still contend yourself as a dividend investor though.

The best behavioral way to force yourself to be a long term investor and think like a business owner....

Become an investor who gets paid a growing dividend to hold on to a company stock
It is very sad that pecuniary Hollywood type of investors have taken over nsem. And unfortunately, they're the ones who drag loads of money into the market. They would all cart their loads of money in into an impending bullish market and as well drag out the money as soon as the bull is subsiding and taking the market back to square one.
Are we no longer having investors? Have yahoo boys taken over eveverywhere ?
This manner of investment mentality can be disturbing to a man's sagacity.

You didn't buy it yesterday.
Today,it gave room for new entrants.
Market is now on timing.
You will have your village people to blame if you don't time.
Some stocks have not left where they were since yesterday's massive crash, like Zenith, GT, Ibtc, Fidelity, ETI, Access, Dangsugar, Wapco and so on.

Oga Selly, who is stage managing today's green again ?
Or the recession has ended just today? tongue
I think yesterday's manifestation was a spontaneous reaction to the official declaration of Nigeria's state of recession.
That is not to say the bear is gone though.

There is currently a tug of war between the bear and the bull, amid soaring oil price at present ($45/barrel).

I sent 4 stocks fir sale yesterday, the universe (God) said no. To my chagrine, non of the stocks were sold.
I was angry with Meritrade at first, then i got the message. I won't sell now.
These were 4 of the biggest dividends paying stock.
I would have regretted selling them.
Even if they had sold at market price, considering the rapidity at which stocks were falling yesterday, they would have sold at a dismal price.
Never sell when everyone is selling.

Apart from the fact that the ember months stroke February are traditionally bullish in Nigeria, something always happen in the socio-economic world before stocks start to nose drive.
At this juncture, it is my opinion that the presence of a stock trading legend in the person of His Eminence, Professor Rabi, the Oracle, on this forum, is highly desirable at present, to guide his followers accordingly.
Thank you.
Let me not forget to extend my appreciation to the indefatigable Merci, who is dear to everyone on this forum, for her selfless contributions. Thank you ma.

You ought to have known the Oracle's investment strategy by now.
He always exit the market as soon as he meets his invesment goal.
I think it is reasonable for someone to convert his paper profit to cash, after making 100% or more, from a stock.

Even the symptoms, which includes high temperature, weakness of the body, influenza, etc, are symptoms of malaria fever. Why then did they give it such an exotic name as CoronaVirus ?

Those who are close to me knew that I sold through out January. Cc Jejebaba, DeRuggedProf, 333.

I said start to exit in percentages. The info was for some people. Maybe not to you. You fit dey slim, I no know.

I need time to exit. Maybe your kaya be like nylon of ijebu garri. grin The main thing is to know when the party is about to be over.

At least you have told me what ails you about my telling people to exit on time. I will adjust and will not issue those statement anymore.

Una can vex on people's happiness. grin grin

Please, let's very our differences and move on. I can always benefit from people's experience, so i prefer to make friends. If I've offended you, I'm sorry. The most important thing is, we should move on and make the best of every situation, sharing ideas in magnanimous atmosphere.

A vehicle hardly stops suddenly when an opposing force is impacted on it.

Knowing when the vehicle is decelerating is very key and you have ample time to disembark.

But if you wish to wait to see the vehicle crash and stop first, you may not be able to open the door. grin grin

Those who know know. You are still a newbie, you have alot to learn to master the business.

For now, continue to wash your belly while you shower.
I stick to my point. And you cant be right always. I may not be patient enough or have much time for stock trading which i am trying to correct now, I am not a newbie in stocks trading. You may have advanced than i due to stated reasons, but i doubt whether you started stock trading earlier than i. Although, it took me many years to discover this thread, many guys have known me here for a long period.

You are good in the trade, no doubt, and i call you my mentor. But when you make a mistake, admit it.

The bull was at its infancy when you asked us to exit and i said it then. And later, people still made 20 to 30% profit.
I still made 20% prpfit from my Flourmills after you asked us tp exit it. Granted, you are great in stocks strategies, just as some people are also great in other sectors, but be humble enough to admit, whenever you make a mistake. That is a good ingredient of greatness. I always admire you my friend no need for immature display of pride.

What happened to stop loss
I'm talking about taking your profits. Though, as your price is appreciating, you can be raising your stop-lose prices. Yes, it is manageable. You're right, you need to be very efficient.
