wanaj0:You're correct. But what the stakeholders said was that agriculture and telecom lifted Nigeria out of recession. I wonder how massive our agricultural resources could be at present when herdsmen have driven many away from their farms and farmlands. |

yMcy56:Agriculture and Telecommunications actually actually lifted Nigeria from the last recession; according to the federal government. Mining would be the next major source, if the operators would not be too lazy or complacent to exploit it. Nigeria think better whenever there is pressure to mitigate recession climate. The resources are there. This is God's own country. Europe would always envy us. Our state of deprivation is privation to us. The country is blessed with inexhaustible natural resources. No matter how much stealing is going on, the economy would not die. The problem is distribution of resources. There is too much gap between the have and have-nots. Another problem is insane borrowing. Stealing, borrowing and stealing what is borrowed. A vicious circle. 2 Likes 1 Share |

119mba: I wonder the type of education our leaders acquired. Africans would be boasting of first class and professorial caps when what they did to aquire their academic laurels was only copy and paste, memorise and download, without ability to use their brains to profer solutions to problems. That is the bane of african development. Nigerian leaders can't think about providing infrastructure and general industrial climate, encourage investments and provide credit facilities, provide security and other incentives to attract foreign investors with the overall aim of boosting economic activities for national economic development that would result in a strong naira. It therefore appears that the only thing that our economists learned from 'Nigerian school of economics' is to periodically devalue the naira in order to accommodate it's dollar master and perpetually subject the nation to the labyrinth of western economic subjugation and slavery. Finally, our cbn governor is always eager to take instructions from Europe to devalue our naira. No brains. Very unfortunate. 9 Likes |

ymercy has been on a rather silent mode since yesterday. Anything the Mercy is quiet, nsem seems to be ominously quiet. I must confess that anytime i log in, the first thing i do is searching for her voice in order to feel the climate of the market. Apart from giving many of us free and selfless stocks suggestions and insights into the market, she also radiates hope, encouragement, liveliness and softening up the terrain, especially for newcomers. I didn't feel comfortable when i heard someone jokingly referred to her as a commentator yesterday, though, he meant no harm. I think she doesn't deserve that appellation. She has been doing much much more than a commentator. She has even earned for herself the status of a guru on this trade, and however humble and approachable. She has been of tremendous help and those of us on the popular side would never allow the elites to discourage her. More grease to your elbows madam. We highly appreciate you. 12 Likes 3 Shares |

emmanuelewumi: Is it an easy process? Years back, when i wanted to transfer my account from Forthtrader to another broker, they did all they could to frustrate it. You know that they would also sign somewhere in the transfer form. The nse, was not forceful enough to make the transfer process successful. Eventually, i had to stay put and make a strategic withdrawal from them. Though, i still left some if my stock with them till today. |

ggoldmine:It didn't include charges and fees, they added it with the total cost. I observed that they deliberately stopped sending the buy/sell contract notes to me since last year. They don't allow my order to go to nse portal directly anymore. They now hijack my order, buy/sell for me at the price they like and also send the number of units at the price they like at the total amount that falls short of what i bought. I included this complaint in my last mail to them. I will call and speak to them physically next week. If they dont comply, i would pack my baggages from Meritrade. It seems they have targeted my account for their fraud. This is because they have been doing it before and getting away with it and so they want to continue. They could do it in the pasr because i started trading with them long time ago when i was a novice i used to trade with complete trust without thinking about any danger of fraud. There was a time long ago some of my stocks suddenly disappeared and i when i called, they said it was a mistake and quickly restored them. If you have not experienced these before, you must have started trading with them when you were already well grounded in the system and they knew they couldn't try any shit with you. Thanks. |

akinssan: I wrote them a mail minutes ago. I earlier sent an order to buy a stock for me at a limit price of #1.50k and #1.80k. The best best offer was #1.80k while the best bid was #1.50k. I bidded for the best offer because the bid outweighed the offer. So, they ignored my Price Limit and bought for me at #2.04k ! Can you imagine? Even as i am writing now, the price of the stock is #1.98k ! I wonder what is wrong with this boys these days. |

debostar:When they asked for my KYC last year, they also stopped my account and lied to me that it was cscs that asked for my KYC update. I think they're doing everything possible to put our accounts under threat. Maybe they're no longer happy to be our accounts' custodian. I think we need to start getting in touch with the management. But whenever we send a mail of call, it is those young officers that attend to us. I wonder whether the management are aware of what they're doing. I had threatened them during my last account suspension impasse that i would come and fight their management staff. In these business, there could be so much alligators and other predators! 1 Like |

I'm trying to get a very little units of caverton just to be able to view it's weekly or daily price movements. This is bacause when i say the chart, it looks like a jijo stock to me. Master Lokodemy knows better. I bidded at the best offer of #1.8k because bids were much more than offer. So i wonder why my bid has not been successfully filled. The best bid at the time was #1.5k |

gamaliel9:They did the same to me last month. I reported it here. I went to cscs to discover it was not cscs that suspended my account. It looked as if the suspension would continue permanently because Meritrade officials did nothing about it. Cscs desk officer called them and asked them to sort things out with me if they had issues with me. The suspension was thereafter lifted. HAVE YOU BEEN MAKING ORDERS WITH PRICE LIMITS? I have decided to start limiting my transactions with them. I also discovered that my order is no longer going straight to nse portal. When i made my last purchase, i has to write a strongly worded letter with calculations because my order was completely. For example, i made a transaction of five hundred thousand naira added with their service charges, only to see about four hundred thousand naira worth! I once bought 1.5m worth in 2019 and saw 1.35 till I'm talking to you now! I fear the present crop of boys and girls in Meritrade. When you place order with limits, you have to pray hard to get your orders implemented. But when you base your order on current price, they are happy, and you would quickly get your order filled at the worst price! You're probably being punished for using price limits. 1 Like |

Heishere:You dey talk? Obviously the writer doesn't know what is happening here, he would have prayed to his God to be part of it. Those who have been making the money would just be quiet and smiling. I wasn't part of the loot because most of my capital was trapped early in the year. However, this time around, i am fully available for this investment programme. I'm now serious and ready. But if someone says we're wasting our time here, we should just maintain a structured and strategic quietude. Those who are making millions yearly, here know themselves. And i hope to join them. Why wouldn't i like to join Oracle and his friends? 6 Likes 1 Share |

I have seen only 2 stocks that significantly went down low to carry people. Wapco and Cornerstone. I can only mount Zenith at 20, GT at 25, no more. Members here silently targeted and loaded Wapco, but kept talking about other stocks As at yesterday, no one could fathom the direction the market would go today. Hence i could only buy for the purpose of averaging down. But with the present outlook, i don't think there would be any occasion for that. (Stream of consciousness) 5 Likes |

May i use this minute to thank you for your helping advice towards finding a solution to my account suspension imbroglio. I have now started selling my disposable stocks. It took the intervention of CSCS before Meritrade decided to give me a lease of life. CSCS never suspended my account as this was confirmed in their Headquarters Lagos, and the desk officer called Meritrade to do the needful. Otherwise, heaven knows when i would have been able to use my account. However, up till this moment, Meritrade guys insist that my account was suspended by CSCS. They probably don't like me anymore. So, i sold some stocks, which had already depreciated, this morning, even with the much hated Price Limit. Meritrader is a great platform. I remain there. However, i would still fight their Senior Management Staff in Lagos, for breaking my heart. Which stock can i buy now, Ymcy mommy ? This is the first time i am available to trade at the right time. I've been behaving like an as***le. |

I'M CRYING OUT! I couldn't sell my stocks in Meritrade for the past one month. When contacted, Meritrade officials said my account and some others, were mistakingly suspended by NSE, and they are following it up for rectification Up till now, i can't sell my shares. I think my village people followed me as far as nse. But, God Almighty is more powerful than them. Glory be to God Almighty. |

You exited after making more than 100% from your open positions and may not need to bother yourself till another crash, to buy from the lowest. So, stop harassing those who are still in open positions especially by brandishing negative scenarios for the past 3 months! Chop make i chop makes the world go round. Abeg no vex o. 1 Like |

No vex Sir Emanuelewumi, just digressing. Prior to 2008, you would just buy a stock and go to sleep, without fear that players would have dumped on you before you sign into your account the following morning. In 2008, it took two weeks before i knew i had made over 200 percent profit on gtb and zenith, and i had no problem. But today, you have to stay glued to your stock trading platform while someone is running a commentary on updates. The system has indeed undergone a radical change, making it difficult to pose as a gentleman investor. This is not to say that you cant still contend yourself as a dividend investor though. 7 Likes |
