Tremor007:My brother, I don't always like to talk about this not too young ish because somehow as a Nigerian I know it's more of a mirage except REVOLUTION pave way for it. It is more of the "kingdom suffers violence and the violent must take it by force" and looking at Nigeria's youths today, you will agree with me that the youths seem not to be ready to take the "kingdom by force" and this is why I see Sowore and Fela Durotoye guts as mere comedy because under the political system of Nigeria there are cabals, two party structure that boasts of unimaginable war chest (because we play money politics here), intimidating memberships going into millions and firm representation in all the 36 States of the federation. As as today, I don't know under what party Sowore or Fela is going to come out from to actualize his dream of being the President of Nigeria, it is more than rabble rousing or mere wishful thinking based on the factors I reveal above (financial strength and intimidating membership drive), perhaps Sowore or Fela can ball by 2027 but I am sure this coming 2019 is still going to be a direct battle between APC and PDP! Thank you. |
The Political Reality For 2019! 1. In 2019, more Nigerians will vote than ever before. This is rather obvious since more Nigerians now have more interest in who rules them, both at the state and at the Federal levels! 2. The demographics of voting will also change. More educated persons will vote this time around, so anyone who banks on the illiterates mainly will need to rethink. 3. The current INEC has shown surprisingly biased attitude and looks less to be trusted to deliver a credible election in 2019 especially in the Presidential Election where all attentions are focused. 4. Religion will play a less dominant role in 2019. More voters will be interested in service delivery than in the religion of the candidates. 5. Anyone who still thinks that cubes of maggi and cups of rice will do the trick is living in the past. Money will no doubt play a role but people will collect and still vote their choices because they have seen how cups of rice shortchanged them in the past. 6. Social Media is now the main determinant of public opinion and it cannot be censored, so its going to be used massively in the efforts to win hearts and minds! 7. The security forces will be forced to be neutral too because politics has become emotionalized to the point where voters will fight for their rights of a fair vote! 8. Under 25 who make up 65% of the population will determine who wins elections. They will take more interest in elections because they have seen how their lack of interests has robbed them and is robbing them. 9. Track records will count, promises will not. 10. Local and regional interests will show a marked pattern in all elections and more incumbents will lose on account of lack of performance. Be wise. Create awareness in your locality before it is too late! |
tribalmall:I am too sure you missed your way here now go back to the Romance section where you truly belong. Ordinary to read and understand by verifying the claims the Op made but you will not but like a typical tribalist you are here again barking in an unknown babbling without making sense. |
This is just the truth of the whole matter, I don't know why this useless government enjoys taking Niferians for an unnecessary ride that keeps portraying us a laughing stock among the comity of Nations. |
The Empty Noise About The Not-Too-Young To Run Factor! For the first time I will unveil what has been bothering my heart regarding why I will always kick against a Sowore Omowole or Fela Durotoye and his likes under this wasteful Presidential System of Government and why I will support an Atiku and other experienced politician. If Sowore or Fela emerges today as the President of Nigeria can you sincerely from your heart tell me that Sowore or Fela can do the following: Run a government that is bereft of godfatherism; run a government that can scrap the useless 1999 Constitution; run a government that can instil discipline in the 109-membership of the Senate; run a unicameral House of Assembly instead of the wasteful Bicameral one we currently operates; can Sowore or Fela handle insurgency in the North effectively well? Can Sowore or Fela handle knotty ethnic issues across Nigeria being a greenhorn on National Political Matter in Nigeria. I have more but reflect on this first and reduce accordingly back to me Ab initio, there was a young Country officially birthed in 1960 after years of agitation for her independence from their Superior Colonial Masters. It was the likes of Chief Awolowo, Sardauna of Sokoto, Nnamdi Azikiwe and others who were in their 30s to 50s that became beneficiaries of this struggle when Nigeria became independent. Fortunately, it was those if them in their 50s (the likes of Awo, Zik, Sardauna, Tafawa Balewa etc) that became leaders while the younger ones serve in subservient capacities. It must be noted that these leaders were seasoned politicians who knew their onions in the game and who can compete with their colleagues across the globe during that time. Awolowo was more than qualified to be a British Prime Minister at that time the same can be said of Zik and Sardauna. They drafted powerful and all encompassing Constitution that works which makes Nigeria to be a darling of all Nations and even made the Great Britain to conclude that Nigeria is the emerging next World Leader that must be watched. Agriculture was our main-stay and our means of livelihood, funds generated then were efficiently utilized for the betterment of all and guess what, we had a System then it was called Regional System under a robust Parliamentary System of Government. Even when the military struck in Jan. 14, 1966 as a result of the greed of the politicians life was still bearable and pleasing until the unfortunate mass sack of civil servants (about 10,000 in 1975) by the young General Murtala (who was 38 years old) which eventually gave birth to "ghost workers" and the unnecessary mapping out of Abuja as capital in 1975 where a huge capital was voted for but were misappropriated by his fellow "khaki men". Gowon was 31 when he became President he was ill-advised by his fellow youths to create more States and finally took Nigeria out a federating units into Unitary System which is what we are still using. Obasanjo was in his 30s when he became head of state and we all know the story. Buhari came in as a youth again in 1983 we can still relate to how he destroyed Nigeria's Middle Class and brought untold hardship on us all. I can go on with what the so-called youths did to the system when they had the opportunity. The truth is, Nigeria operates on a two-party system that rules supreme in the areas of membership drive and financial power, they are; APC and PDP! As it stands today, APC, the ruling party, can only be matched by no other party at the polls by PDP this is the truth! I don't know the party a Sowore or a Fela is coming out from but be rest assured that come 2019 Elections, it is going to be a straight war between APC and PDP. Please, kindly reflect on this and tell me what a Sowore or Fela Durotoye will do differently if he gets into power if not his sweet talks of motivational speeches which is not needed in Nigerian politics. Thank you for reading. Tomakint! |

In Rivers Atiku did not just come and go By Kelvin Ebiri (South-South Bureau Chief) 08 April 2018 | 4:09 am Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar Ahead of 2019 polls, indication has emerged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) might give its presidential ticket to either former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar or former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Atiku, who recently declared his intention to contest 2019 presidential election, has already begun building alliances and is seeking endorsement for the PDP presidential ticket. Sources close to the PDP told The Guardian that the party’s leadership has been wooing General Abdulsalami Abubakar, who was Nigeria’s eighth military Head of State, based on the international community’s disposition towards him. It was gathered that, if the former military ruler, who governed the country between 1998 and 1999, declines to accept the offer, then the party might give the ticket to Atiku, who is said to have bankrolled many All Progressives Congress’ (APC) lawmakers and some governors in 2015 polls. Recently in Port Harcourt, Atiku announced he was seeking his party’s nomination for the presidency, when he visited Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, who has carved out a reputation as a power broker in the PDP.The Guardian gathered from sources within the party that the former vice president’s carefully planned visit, which was followed by other behind-the-scenes scheming, was to establish him as the likely 2019 PDP nominee. A political pundit, Mr. Ross George, told The Guardian that Atiku and other presidential aspirants are of the belief that whosoever Wike’s legacy bloc supports in the national congress will automatically win PDP ticket for 2019 polls. He said: “He feels that Wike is PDP’s energy centre and clearly, his performance during the last PDP convention attested to this fact. “Wike’s ability to coordinate things is what I think Atiku is banking on for his 2019 bid. I think the essence is that Wike is the epicentre of PDP politics right now, and the party’s national chairman also hails from Rivers State.” In recognition that he might be up against powerful forces, Atiku, together with a close-knit group of trusted cohorts, spent days in Rivers State, negotiating with various groups in a bid to convince them to support his candidacy. The Guardian gathered that there are already influential people in Wike’s camp, who think Atiku will bring value to the party, as he has the financial war chest and network to generate funds for prosecuting 2019 presidential election. As a mark of prudent political gamesmanship, meant to mask his natural instincts, Wike told the former vice president that he had earlier received former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, who had intimated him of his desire to seek PDP presidential ticket. A source in the PDP, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that Governor Wike’s pendulum would initially swing between Atiku and Lamido, because both of them have strong selling points. Presently, however, the odds seem to favour Atiku, who is said to have a strong grip on Adamawa State, as well as a strong appeal in Taraba, Bauchi, the northeast and other sections of the country. It was also gathered that some governors are uncomfortable with Lamido’s closeness to former President Obasanjo. However, it was also observed that Lamido has appeal in the north among the conservatives. He said: “Lamido has the appeal of the North, meaning that he will do better there, but Atiku will do better nationally, in the sense that he has a strong appeal in the South. He is the biggest landlord in Rivers State. He has an Igbo wife, who will sell him in the southeast, as well as a wife from the southwest. In the South-south, he has business contacts and has created jobs. Atiku did not just come and go. He stayed three days consulting. “I think Lamido comes in with the dimension of former president Olusegun Obasanjo cartel, which PDP may need. Obasanjo likes Lamido. There is the likelihood that, in order to form a coalition with the SDP, the PDP may decide to go for Lamido. If they have to negotiate for coalition; that will be the chance Lamido has. If they are to bring a unifying candidate, he is most likely to be the one. “The bottom line is: I think Atiku has a stronger momentum, but I also think if the PDP must get into a coalition, that is where Lamido has a stronger hand. He has a strong conservative root. Obasanjo will never support Atiku.”Atiku had explained that he was vying for the presidency because the country was presently at a crossroads. He said he has never seen Nigeria so divided on ethnic and religious lines, which had been brought about by APC’s mismanagement. He said he has been facing political persecution from some powerful political forces, ever since he refused to support tenure elongation, while in office as vice president. He said: “I am still going through tribulation, because up till now, some people are saying because I insisted on removal of tenure elongation in our constitution, they are still hunting for my head. “But if I had supported the removal of tenure in our constitution, all those who became governors, National Assembly members, local governments chairmen and councilors from 2007, would not have been able to do so. And we would have continued with the same set of people, but that was not why we fought the military to return democracy. And that is why we should not forget, but continue to remember those that have made those supreme sacrifices.” https://m.guardian.ng/politics/in-rivers-atiku-did-not-just-come-and-go/ |

THE RISE AND FALL OF BUHARI. - The London Economist. *The Rise and Fall of Buhari* This write up coming from the London Economist, a magazine that endorsed Buhari for President in 2015, is perhaps the most significant, objective, unbiased, unsentimental and deeply incisive analysis of the policies and actions of this president so far. The facts are unimpeachable by any objective mind. The Unprecedented Level of Patience Shown to Buhari---the ECONOMIST Nigerians have never shown such level of patience and tolerance towards any of their past leaders for his record and strange policies as that shown to their current leader, Muhammadu Buhari – a former military dictator now self-confessed democrat who said he came to fight corruption. Buhari, 75, is being plagued with failures across every single sector in the economy, the like as has never been seen before. Less than a year into office, the economy plummeted into recession, an economy which had till then grown at an average rate of 7% in previous years (2011-2014). The nation’s currency lost 70% of its value, unemployment rose from 6.5 to 26%, commodity prices tripled across many quarters and the state-regulated premium motor spirit prices were hiked by 67% without practically anybody batting an eye. There have been stern opposition to his policies however and to his very personality as well, notably in the South East and South- South regions in the country as they are called, where he both received less than 5% of the votes cast at the last Presidential election and where he has always been sternly unpopular for his history of bigotry against the people, perceived incompetence and dictatorial tendencies. But in many other regions across the country the people have rather resolved to suffer patiently, drawing up excuses for him at will, blaming everyone including his hundreds of political appointees, anything and anybody but never the man himself. Buhari’s party, the APC, promised Nigerians unprecedented swiping changes in government and the eviction of all corrupt individuals. One possible explanation for this could be his party’s hope narrative in the 2015 General election where citizens were promised an unprecedented crackdown on corruption and the abolition of all government waste by a man whose financial worth they declared to have been less than N30million ($150,000 then), a historical low for a former top official in the country and most especially a former leader. In a country plagued by acute corruption problems and with the unremitted crude oil revenue scandal of 2014 still fresh in the people’s minds, many were eager for an abrupt change, the like as never been seen before. He was seen an army general, already experienced in government, with a great strength of will, tough to take on the nation’s cabal of hardened criminals. He promised to appoint only technocrats to head the country’s departments and to see out the lingering Boko Haram insurgency from the warfront. For a nation lacking basic amenities such as power supply in spite of its huge energy resources and with the lingering insurgency crises, the choice seemed easy to many- the general with integrity was the man for the country. Talk was cheap then but now reality has taken its course. His earliest opponents pointed out to his track record and not to his speech, noting that the last time Nigeria fell into dismal failure, currency woes and commodity shortages was when he had seized power as a military general in 1983 and stating that the facts of that record contradicted the poems of his image brokers. Many however just wanted “change” as it was then called and so voted the General and sat to wait for the sung promises. But from the onset of his government, the course was as his critics had predefined: Incompetency, bigotry and dictatorial tendencies plaguing the country. He ignored the newly born genocide in the middle belt of the country perpetuated by the Fulani herdsmen of his kindred against the Christian communities in Benue, Plateau and later on Kaduna. He breached the Central Bank’s 2007 Act of Independence, telling it to suspend forex disbursements to steel importers and other manufacturing sectors in a bid to defend the Naira, a disastrous action which kick-started a spiral of recession. He took 3 months to appoint his Chief of Staff, 6 months to appoint a cabinet and now 23 months and yet counting to appoint heads of agencies and board members he was so eager to fire upon his assumption into office and rose import duties on the most basic of commodities in a bid to raise government revenue. And as for the corruption fight, the facts on ground do not show any one at all. Apart from a few officials harassed or imprisoned without court order, the country is yet to witness the first victim of the said campaign at the court stands. Government waste is on the rise, officials publicly caught in graft acts were swiftly excused, the 2016 Budget year passed without implementation and most worrisome, the Central Bank’s foreign reserves were being shared among unknown Bureau De Change operators at variable rates at the detriment of critical manufacturing, business and banking sectors. The government continues to praise itself but the people seem to be increasingly tired of the paraded self-righteousness. The President’s recent illness was greeted with cheers by many. Many are just tired of the government. But the remarkable level of patience shown so far has been unprecedented and many a times the general reactions towards acts of constitutional violations was one of calmness or insensitivity. If the Change narrative of the 2015 election and the songs of man of integrity are to account for this, then Nigerians may have just certified themselves on the world map as a nation easy to fool with propaganda. An adult should be judged on his track record not on his tongue. Culled from The Economist! |
OAU student releases phone conversation of alleged sex demand by lecturer, Professor Akindele [Audio] Published on April 10, 2018 By Fikayo Olowolagba It has been alleged that a professor at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Richard Akindele, has requested to have sex with a female student of the institution in order to raise her scores in the course he teaches. This follows an alleged recording of a phone conversation between the student and the lecturer. In the said phone conversation, the professor could be heard, asking the student to have sex with him five times so an alleged score of 33 could be upgraded to a pass mark. The following dialogue was recorded: Student: Hello Sir, Professor Akindele, yesterday you said something but because I was close to my boyfriend, I could not say anything. You said you’ve submitted it Lecturer: I gave you an opportunity and you missed it. Forget about it. You will do it next year. Student: I was calling to confirm whether you were serious about it. Lecturer: Me that agreed to do something. I know what I meant. If you don’t trust me, forget about it. If I wouldn’t do it, why should I give you audience in the first place? If I am not interested in doing it, I won’t give you audience in the first instance. The other person has come and I told her straight away because there is nothing I can do to bail that person out and her mark is even better than your own. The person scored 39 while your own is 33. Only two people failed the course so what else do you want me to do. You can see it anytime you come, we are at Moro doing exam, we are doing MBA executive exam. They are just starting. I will finish by 4:30 and maybe 5, I should be in the office. If you are ready, come by 5:00. Why did you tell me you were on your period the other time. Student: I was really seeing my period, Professor Akindele. Lecturer: Stop mentioning my name. And now nko?. Student: I am not on my period now. Lecturer: Your boyfriend has done it yesterday? Student: Is it every time that someone will be doing with the boyfriend? Is it every time you do it with your wife? Lecturer: Yes Student: It’s a lie, not possible. So what’s the plan now? Lecturer: Let’s have the first one today and then we will do another one tomorrow. Is our agreement not five times? Student: Is it B that you want to give me or C? Why would it be five times you will knack me? Lecturer: That’s what I will do. Student: Prof, you know what? Let me fail it. I can’t do it five times. For what nah? No worry. Thank you, sir Lecturer: You are welcome. But reacting, the spokesperson for OAU, Abiodun Olanrewaju, told journalists in the school that the management was aware of the scandal. Olanrewaju said the management has began critical investigation into the matter. “The university is aware and we are setting up machinery to critically look at the issue to determine the veracity, otherwise there won’t be conclusion,” Olanrewaju said. http://dailypost.ng/2018/04/10/oau-student-releases-phone-conversation-alleged-sex-demand-lecturer-professor-akindele-audio/ |
Too late to pacify Nigerians |
The Grand Conspiracy Within INEC That Must Be Resisted By True Democrats! INEC is meant to be an unbiased umpire in the game of elections, but as it stands today judging from cloned websites all over the whole place from INEC, you can tell that INEC is up to something fishy. Talking about the necessary voter's registration exercise across the Nation, you can tell that already there is a grand conspiracy at play where numbers of voters up North (especially Northwest) have been given a bloated figure that can easily erase whatever votes that can be scooped from Southeast and Southsouth in the coming elections. One more thing Nigerians must be wary of is the way and manner prospective electorates are not encouraged to register in the Southern part whereas it was alleged that underage electorates have already registered up North, also Emirs were accused of having access or being in custody of mass supply of PVCs which are to be distributed right from the palace to their prospective electorates there. This is the crux of the matter and should be a cause for concern among well meaning Nigerians because we have a biased INEC on ground who is willing to rig systematically at all cost for Buhari and his poverty-spreading party, APC, by all means possible. They must be firmly resisted by all strength within us. The bogus figures claim assigned to Northwest must be checked. The sudden appearance of many Chad and Nigeriens citizens all over Nigeria wielding Nigerian PVCs must be firmly resisted and questions must be asked. The underage registration must be resisted. The deliberate malfunction of most of the capturing machines down South unlike the "functioning ones" this worthless INEC body spread all over the North is a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise Southern prospective electorates. INEC had a Northern Chairman in the person of Jega and now Buhari came in, he is still fielding another Northerner, Mahmud, as INEC Chairman, even his terrible cousin, Madam Zakari, whom he wanted dearly as INEC chairman is still within INEC despite due for retirement as one of the high ranking commissioners. Nigerians must stand up to their future and begin to ask questions now before it is too late. Buhari and INEC are on a mission to enslave us further. Buhari is killing Nigerians and any attempt to force the dictator and inept Buhari on us all will be firmly resisted by all Nigerians. Buhari should retire back to his farm to go and rest in 2019! PDP and other registered political parties, human right agencies and well meaning and influential Nigerians who are true born Democrats should take note. Please Share Across All Groups! |

ClassicMG:Trust me buddy, he is by far a better candidate and not only Atiku but many others too like Dankwanbo, Donld Duke and others but none of these beside Atiku that can take Buhari head on especially in his stronghold of Northwest and Northeast. My point! |
Efewestern:You mean Atiku was one of the destroyers of this Country since 1960? |
jumper524:When will you folks learn the bitter lesson that Buhari has shown interest to contest for 2nd term and it takes a man of Atiku to take him head on for anything Buhari can come up with. Atiku is the only Northerner for now that can split Buhari's influence in Northwest and Northeast. |
CaptainFM1:Nothing farther from the truth than this, the Bible is meant to be studied till our demise. |
