Aparecido Castaldo, a retired stone cutter from Jundiai, Brazil has decided to marry his beloved Carmella, a goat. Because no Christian minister would agree to perform the marriage ceremony, the two will be wed by a known satanic leader, in the Church of the Devil. People have married their petsin the past, although in most cases the marriage ceremony was just a symbolic one performed by family or friends. However, 74-year old Aparecido Castaldo, a widower and father-of-seven, apparently wanted to be united with his goat Carmela in a church, by an evangelical minister. Unfortunately, none of the churches he contacted with his unusual request wanted to perform the ceremony, so Aparecido eventually contacted Toninho do Diabo (Tom the Devil), an old friend who just happens to be one of the most famous satanists in Brazil. The wedding is scheduled to take place at midnight, on October 13, at the Devil’s Church, in Sao Paolo. ”Only our church accepted this love between man and animal because we have no prejudice,” Toninho said.Aparecido fell in love with his pet goat two years ago, and apparently she has already been accepted as a “stepmother” by the man’s seven children, who will all be at the wedding. Although their upcoming wedding has caused a lot of controversy in the community, and attracted accusations from animal rights activists, Castaldo said they have no plans to consummate their marriage. He just needs a life companion and Carmella is just perfect. “Whenever someone says I am doing something wrong I reply the goat does not speak, ask for money to go shopping and doesn’t get pregnant – and she can’t talk,” the groom-to-be praised his future wife. She does have one fault, though – she tries to eat everything, including the first wedding dress Aparecido got for her. Luckily, he was able to find another. Photo: Vera Gonçalves/ Bon Dia Agency After the October 13 wedding, Aparecido plans to celebrate his union to Carmela with a barbecue party, but makes it very clear that there won’t be any goat meat served… |
Inspired by Noah’s Ark from the Book of Genesis, Dutch artist Johan Huibers built a modern day replica spending a whopping$1.2 million on it. His reasons for building thevessel – he feared the effects global warming would someday have on his country, flooding included. The idea came tohim in 1992, when he had a dream about his native land submerged in a flood similar to the one in the Book of Genesis. He continued to think about it until he finally did something about it. And the result is a 130m long, 29m wide, 23m high ark that hecompleted in 2005. Weighing almost 3000 tons and built from Swedish pine reinforcedwith steel, it is quite hard to believe that ark might be seaworthy at all, but this modern-day Noah assures us it does indeed float. A carpenter by profession, Johan Huibershasnow opened his full scale ark to the public and is attracting thousands of tourists from the world over. Located in Dordrecht, the Netherlands, the ark is something that would even surprise Noah, for it has a restaurant, two cinemas and of course, a menagerie of life-sized plastic animals. Towering over the flat Dutch landscape, the ark is easily visible from a nearby highway. Across the arks main hold is a huge space ofstalls, where visitors can view a large collection of stuffed and plastic animals like zebras, gorillas, lions, tigers, bears and buffaloes. There’s also a petting zoo, where less dangerous real-life animals like dogs, sheep, rabbits, ponies and a few exotic birdsare housed . On each level of the boat, around its edges, are displays about the history and dress of the ancient Middle East, a few scenes from the life of Noah, and games for kids like water pumps and levers that lift bales of hay. But the ark is not just about tourist attractions. Down below, there exists a honeycomb system of hatches, each opening an area where food could be sealedin for long-term storage. The curvature of the upper deck could be used to collect rainwater and also to let the horses and other animals get some exercise. Huibers says that his boat gives people a pretty goodidea of how Noah’s ark would have worked in practice.Jojan first built the half-scale version in 2004and let it float over the country’s canals, before the larger one was complete. When tourists flocked to see the prototype which was open to public, the proceeds went directly into funding the full-scale version. According to the original story, the ark was supposed to be 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide and 30 cubits high. It’s hard to interpret this ancient system of measurement, but Huibers did it based on the length of the forearm, determining that the final length had to be maybe about 450ftlong. Over half the length of the Titanic, this modern-age boat is called the ‘Johan’s Ark’. Huibers completed the mammoth task with the help of his two children and some friends. He says that his motivation was ultimately religious, wanting to make people think about their purpose on Earth. “I want to make people question that so that they golooking for answers.” The city of Dordrecht might just need the ark sometime in the future, given that it is quite prone to floods. One of the world’s deadliest floods occurred here in the 15thcentury, claiming about 10,000 lives. Let’s just hope nothing like that happens anytime soon, and if it does, perhaps Johan’s Ark could save everyone. Meanwhile, he’s dreaming of a new project –to get the Israelis and Arabs to cooperate and build a water pipeline from the Mediterranean Sea to the Dead Sea. Well, now THAT would be a miracle of biblical proportions.

But thanks to the care of her adoptive ownersFaithmanaged to survive and grow into an amazing dog. She learned to move by using only her 2 remaining legs, but, according to her owners although it was a very difficult process, it was also natural. But before you think about getting one for your special someone, there are a few thingsyou should know. First of all theTitan Arum‘s flowering stalk reaches a height of 3 meters and has a diameter of over a meter, so it’s going to be pretty hard to carry. And second of all and, most importantly, it reeks like a decomposing dead body…that’s why it’s sometimes known as “the corpse flower” It’s native to the rainforests of centralSumatra,Indonesiaand it rarely blooms in captivity, so when that actually happens it’s apretty big deal. Haven’t seen one up close yet, but considering the smell, I consider myself lucky

Hollywood loves its sequels, and we’ve got the proof here. Meet the 105 sequels at various stages of production, and a further 17 that seem to have died. It’s been nearly five years since we started doing our annual round-ups of the current movie sequels that are in the works, and thisyear marks the longest list of all. Furthermore, what the 105 we've rounded up here doesn’t include are the projects that we suspect might have been lost to development hell, which we’ve detailed down at the bottom. Hollywood does love itsfollow-ups. The projects that we do talk about here eachhave some chance of happening, and we’ve done a release date cut off of films due after October 2012 at the earliest. Thus, this summer’s collection of sequels – including The Dark Knight Rises , Madagascar 3 , Ice Age 4 , G.I. Joe 2 , The Expendables 2 , American Pie: The Reunion , Men In Black 3 , Wimpy Kid 3 , The Bourne Legacy – aren’t included either. And yet, with those exclusions, we’re still left with the many projects we're about to talk about. Regular readers will know we don't like splitting lists over multiple pages, but we've had to in this instance. The reason? Er, simply because our back end system wouldn't let us fit it all on one page, unless we took all the pictures out. Check d link 4 d full details: http://www.denofgeek.us/movies/18891/105-movie-sequels-currently-in-the-works |

@blacksta. Lol. Which one be boko haram goat! I dey laff, roll 4 floor! But I think Ur name: blacksta suggests Ur a Ghanian. #justasuggestion. |
I've read so much in the news about this boko haram and I've come to the conclusion that this is a SPIRITUAL issue. No amount of human strength can successfully prevail against it coz we human beings have limits. Children of the Living God, the God who sent His son Jesus Christ to die for the world. Children of this God PLEASE NEVER STOP PRAYING FOR THIS NATION. We need to pray against all the people standing on the peace of Nigeria. Prayer in the Name of Jesus CHRIST is the strongest weapon in fact the only weapon we can use against these people. Retaliation and vengeance is GOD'S. I know that God will cause them to wither away like grass and I by faith in Christ it will happen VERY soon. Please christians let us beef up our prayer life and worship God in spirit and in truth(John 4:24). Do not think this is a political issue! Please PRAY! |
I'm reaaally skeptical about this Islamic banking. Do U know Y? Coz despite the fact there's no interest on loans, if U can't pay back the loan sharia law becomes applicable. They'll begin to maim and chop off peoples limbs in return! #Justmyopinionthough. |

So U mean coz as Christians we should just ' loose guard' and let ourselves be killed by some self bomber? That's simply dyin 4 no reason! God's will 4 man also includes us to be fruitfull, multiply and enjoy long life here on earth and in heaven. Didn't expect U to say such a statement that sounds like U've lost the battle. Pls be more encouraging. Cheerz! |

Seems like these guy are looking for anything to cause chaos. This Al-Mustapha case has been on before any1 even new about the word ' boko ' talk less of 'haram'. I have a feeling these guys will soon make an outrageous demand that will become a popular comedy joke which will make them lose their foothold. |
