Frosbel, you deserve an award for this lovely piece.

Until we all focus on living like Christ and not just on following doctrines, rules and regulations, we will continue to miss the point

In 2013, Nigerians are still arguing about a topic like this. Smh

To the op, so if you do not wear trouser or use make up and you still sin, will you not still end up in hell?

Politics / Re: Ribadu Is An Ethically-challenged Hypocrite - Abati by Tonex(m): 1:37pm On Jun 11, 2013
coogar:

truth be told, ribadu is a goat!
jonathan didn't start well but i must say he has found his mojo in the last 90 days. his decision-making has been spot on since the 2nd quarter of the year and if he continues with the same form, my votes would go to him.

my problem is - why are the attacks against jonathan coming when he seems to be doing very well? besides, if anyone must attack jonathan, it should never be ribadu. he shouldn't even have been allowed to give any public speech - he ought to be on exile hiding under caves and rocks till natural death comes!

To be honest, I don't care much for Abati or Ribadu. As a Nigerian, all I care about is good governance and accountability. All these other issues are irrelevant
Politics / Re: Ribadu Is An Ethically-challenged Hypocrite - Abati by Tonex(m): 1:21pm On Jun 11, 2013
^^
Abati is also a hypocrite. Some years ago, he was very adamant and vocal in criticising the Government and now he has changed because he is now one of them.

Both of them are hypocrites, so I see no reason why Abati should cast aspersions on Ribadu for doing the same thing he did a while ago

In the past I liked most of Afam4eva's comments and posts, but lately it is a different story.

I have to agree with Gbawe and say that in the context of this thread, Afam is on a totally different tangent and he keeps arguing when he shouldn't. Let us try to accept constructive criticism as people and as a country. All criticism is not bad if it is done in good faith

acidtalk:

What about people like us who don't have discipline and also easily pity people who come for one favor or the other? Can you see the reason why it can't work for all of us?

Fair enough. I always watch on the sidelines on nairaland, but I have found most of your threads to be very sensible and practical. I like your way of thinking as it is somewhat similar to mine in many aspects
Investment / Re: Steps To Forming Saving Habit And Financial-Freedom by Tonex(m): 6:28pm On Apr 24, 2013
Acidtalk, I agree with almost everything, but I disagree on the online banking thing. If you have discipline, I don't see why you can't still save and use online banking. It saves a lot of hassle and the money you spend going to a physical bank can also be saved. Nice post nonetheless.

Garri * 7 is on point. Rather than people defending GEJ, just address if he has fulfilled any of his promises or not

Nigerians moan about everything. Our failed democracy has shown that without draconian rules, Nigerians do not have the discipline to do the right things. I support Fashola for this bold move. We need a very firm hand since we have decided to remain unruly

@ayodele123: I believe you must be a smart chap, but it seems you did not fully understand my simple message.

Live a Christlike life and you will go to heaven. If you bash Catholics, Anglicans or other denominations, will that take you to Heaven or does it add to you in any way? No.

Focus on serving God and being like Christ. At the end of the day, that is what matters and any other things we speak about are irrelevant.

Kind Regards
Romance / Re: Does Your Denomination Really Matter In Your Relationship? by Tonex(m): 5:11pm On Feb 21, 2012
@ayodele123: I am sorry to say, you are very misinformed. Catholics do believe in heaven and hell. The big problem with religion is division.
The core thing that every christian regardless of denomination believes in is that Christ is the way, the truth and the life. Don't spend your time in useless arguments where you claim one denomination is better than another.
Our goal as Christians is to take up our cross each day, deny self and follow God. Any other thing we do or argue about is just an unwanted distraction.

In summary, just serve God and try to live a Christlike life. Do not spend time arguing about denominations.

Kind Regards

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Nigerian Graduates In The Uk:pls,i Need Your Advice -should I Go Back To The Uk? by Tonex(m): 7:27pm On Aug 09, 2009
After coming to the UK, we have all discovered that it is not the 'promised land' as we all thought. The british jobs for british workers policy and the recession does not help matters. I am not saying naija is not tough, but at least when it will click, it will click. Weigh your options carefully and make the best choice.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester Has Won Uefa Champions League by Tonex(m): 9:08pm On Jun 04, 2008
Baby blue how will it come to Anfield. U guys r so inconsistent I actually pity you guys. Spending so much money and at the end, not even a meaningful title challenge. Liverpool would always be under achievers. I wonder why fans can't just say the truth. United deserved to win both trophies cos we were the most consistent team both in the league and in Europe. Give props 2 whom props is due. MANCHESTER UNITED. THE KINGS OF EUROPE AND ENGLAND
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester Has Won Uefa Champions League by Tonex(m): 3:07pm On Jun 04, 2008
Man United just proved that money does not buy success. After spending over 250million on players, Chelsea could still not win the Champs league. Manchester United THE GREATEST. Sorry Chelsea, you guys just suck and you got what you deserved.
Travel / Re: Common Mistakes Foreign Students Make In Uk by Tonex(m): 11:54pm On Nov 14, 2007
I have to commend the person that started this topic. I came into Scotland in September and things are not the way people in nigeria think they are. The life here is really hard, the school work especially for master's students is ridiculously excessive. Unless working on weekends, working on weekdays is a disaster and it will surely affect your studies.

final note to people coming to the Uk:
1. It is a hard place to live in
2. You must work for everything you get, because nobody is going to give you a penny
3. Make sure you have enough money before coming and have probably paid your total school fees and a part of your accomdation fee, because if you dont have the money and think you can work to pay up, you are better off in Nigeria than in the UK.

Sports / Re: Is Wrestling (WWE) Real Or Not? by Tonex(m): 11:39pm On Nov 14, 2007
Wrestling is real. If you have the opportunity, try and watch a live WWE event. The fighting in the ring is real, but the build up and other behind the scene activities are just fictional. They are done to build hype for a match. But i repeat once again, the in-ring fighting is totally real. You need to see this guys after a match and you will understand how real the fighting is.

For everyone that says the fighting is fake, ask youselves this simple question, why should someone train for many years and condition his body to be the way it is, just to come into a ring and act. If you think about it you'll see how ridiculous it is to suggest that wrestlers are actors. Most of them train upto 8 hours a day. Do you think they train that hard to come and act? I think not.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Battle Of The Emirate (nov 3rd): Arsenal Vs Manchester United by Tonex(m): 12:17am On Nov 03, 2007
I like Arsenal fans because they make alot of noise and when they are beaten, they all look daft for making so much noise. Imagine Arsenal fans betting how many goals they will score United by. What rubbish. This is not last season and even though you won us, we still won the league and that's the most important thing. Arsenal like to set stupid records, but at the end of the day, they have no trophies to show for it. 9 trophies to 3 trophies, there is no room for comparison at all. 3 - 1 to Manchester United. It would be that easy for us at the Emirates stadium.

TV/Movies / Re: TV Shows: Prison Break, Lost Or 24? by Tonex(m): 10:17pm On Sep 05, 2007
All the shows are very good. But for a very innovative concept and a brilliant scriptwriter and storyline, Prison Break beats them all hands down. I have watched a lot of shows in my time and i can say for a fact that Prison Break is the best.
