oh my oh my..may your days be long, we have good thinkers. I keep saying it...shut down down the ports, let us suffer..neccessity is the mother of damn invention...no more drinking Moet, no More Mc Dowell or 501 or Hennessy...if we need brandy we have to brew it and distil it...we have and must develope taste for our products it is from there that these local firmns will be competitive...no more importation of lace, abada, hollandias, ankara...we should produce it at home or lets us go naked..no more shoes importation ..why should we import biscuits, sweets and chocolate stuffs whereas we have Western Nigerian producing cocoa...if the west want to do business in Nigeria they should set up shop here But all these am talking is ranting...the BLACK MAN LOVES ENJOYMENT AND WONT SACRIFICE A DECADE,,,JUST A DECADE...SO PATHETIC jaysniggs: You see agriculture should be practised in every region in Nigeria, and I mean large extensive farms in each region. There our cummulative produce will hit the market.by then we control African agricultural exports and we shouldn't let the west as usual weigh us down. In order to get this we mustnt keep on importing edible foods! We must start producing our own wines! No more luxury for anyone to be eating imported foods!
If our agric is blossoming then expect the textile industry too.
And about globalization its unfortunate murtala saw it, tried to avoid it he ended up dead. And since then they have been able to infilterate our society! Protecting their interests. Killing bills that are against their interests. Keeping our politicians loots for their own economies. We don't know the true amount of oil that Nigeria produces daily, all thanks to them and their multinationals. You see we are pretty messed up. Until we citizens are aware they won't leave, who will drive them out, "WE".
For our products to grow we need to stop importing and start manufacturing. A Jewish man once said, the money owned by a Jew will go round 17 Jews before it reaches an outiders hand. Do you see community building there? My black race must benefit first before any other race. But our people are too modern to use African made products.
Personally I think we are cheating nature and our cause for being the dark skinned. We are black with various languages, those languages are what sustained the caucasian race until industrilisation started with them. The only thing between us and them is industrilisation. Our language should be used in our favour not our detriment. So its like erasing an already laid foundation of language and culture. All we needed to add was industrilisation to be mordernised. But now we are erasing our cultures and our traditions. |

Bad sides Globalization causes unemployment in industrialized countries because firms move their factories to places where they can get cheaper workers. Globalization may lead to more environmental problems. A company may want to build factories in other countries because environmental laws are not as strict as they are at home. Poor countries in the Third World may have to cut down more trees so that they can sell wood to richer countries. Globalization can lead to financial problems . In the 1970s and 80s countries like Mexico, Thailand, Indonesia or Brazil got a lot of money from investors who hoped they could build up new businesses there. These new companies often didn’t work, so they had to close down and investors pulled out their money. Some of the poorest countries in the world, especially in Africa, may get even poorer. Their population is not as educated as in developed countries and they don’t have the new technology that we do. |
Politics › Re: Why Are African Countries Backward Both Socially And Economically ? by tonychristopher(op): 4:14pm On Jun 15, 2015 |
jaysniggs: There isn't one particular problem with Africa, rather there are multiple deadly problems that are with Africa. The west is just a single problem, and the reason they have gotten this far in ruining Africa is because our leaders are not pratiotic. You need to know since when these western powers have been taunting us, its a shame when you hear that Ajaokuta is being hindered by external forces to achieve its full potentials. If our leaders were to be patriotic Ajaokuta would have transformed Nigeria in the infrastuctural sector since when its commentment. Ask yourself, is there is a nation that is modernised without steel?
Another Problem is Most African citizens aren't aware of the fact that their leaders deserve to serve them and not vice versa.
Another are the constitutions that allow Nigerian lawmakers make away with so much unimaginable fortune monthly while their people lavishly spend abject poverty.
Another is the inability of Africans to think and be innovative! We need to sit down and plan for the future, but can we when we didn't plan for the present? I mean who should start producing, we should start making industries that can compete globaly. We should move more to science!
And there are so many more like corruption, selfishness, greed among africans. Its goes on and on and on
Just imagine that lovely Nigeria, that sweet Nigeria that country who used to be a laughing stock now a world power! Think of we leading the entire black race! Think of we teaching the world! I think my Igbo producers should be dominating the world trade globally! I wish my Odua people to build, make, invent for the world to copy! My Huasa family should feed the entire planet! Then think about the green passport, imagine the glory it would represent for as many as they that hold it. You see its that easy so far we can kick out these problems Trust me the so called whites are superior because they adopted science. Africa will change for the better only if we do so.
Oh and yeah we must LOVE ourselves if we are to reach anywhere. The first rule is LOVE if only we love ourselves, then we can attain that beautiful Nigeria! TO ME THE BEST THING IS CLOSE OUR PORTS,IMPORT VERY FEW THINGS AND DO NOT IMPORT ANYTHING EDIBLE...IF HUNGER WIRE US. WE WILL BE FORCED TO FARM MECHANICALLY, IF COLD CATCH US WE WILL BE FORCED TO UPGRADE OUR GARMENT FACTORY...BUT WE ARE GLUTTONS. ALWAYS WANTING FINE WINE, DESIGNER CLOTHERS AND WE CONSUME INSTEAD OF PRODUCING, WE RUN A SERVICE ECONOMY To be honest lets forget this globalization, IMF, and UN is using it to cheat Africa, China saw this and avoided it Disadvantages of Globalization: Developed countries can stifle development of undeveloped and under-developed countries. Economic depression in one country can trigger adverse reaction across the globe. It can increase spread of communicable diseases. Companies face much greater competition. This can put smaller companies, at a disadvantage as they do not have resources to compete at global scale. Firstly, globalization is good for certain countries more, such as those in the First World or Global North. Rich countries like the USA, UK, Germany etc. can sell more products and goods to new markets in the Global South or poorer countries. Think of McDonald's and Starbucks and other big American brands. We can find McDonald's everywhere (almost). Due to globalization, many local brands and businesses in poorer developing countries go bankrupt and can't survive the economic might of these rich countries. Local cultures and traditions change. People no longer wear national costumes because they all want to look like Hollywood stars and wear jeans, for example. People want to become "American" and consume everything American. Also because of globalization, more and more people are learning and speaking English to the detriment of local languages. There are more international schools and the focus now is on the acquisition of this global language rather than their own L1 or mother tongue. |

when zimbabwe was rhodesia it was haven on earth and the best economy...mugabe entered then changed it to zimbabwe now this is it, when south africa was under botha, yes there was aparthaid but look at soweto, kwazulu nata today...i no fit talk Nigeria.... the fact is that black will not love to have integration....they will want to bring each other down...Chinese closed their economy for decades so that they will avoid globalization...which is another word for western countries dumping finished goods in developing countries...chinese suffered it...then when they bring in their product we laugh at them calling them chinco,,,today they are biggest economy in the whole world...where are we We cant even refine common crude oil IzonOwei: i think the black mans problem is congenital...you just said ALL that is in my mind about the continent especially our mumu country nigeria..a country where a governor borrows money for the state and then steals the money in return..a country where we cant generate substantial electricity for the masses because a few black fools want to make gains by all means..the problem is there are greedy persons in the western world, but they would never let there greed make their people suffer..an average white man would do anything to make sure his country is up and standing,...i tell you my brother, just leave the USA to be inhabited by blacks alone and you would see the madness that will ensue..BLACKS NEED TO GET THEIR ACTS RIGHT AND DO THE RIGHT THING SO THAT WE CAN BE EMANCIPATED FROM THE HANDS OF FOOLISHNESS AND RETROGRESSION.. |

that is it....i think tribalism is another aspect..maybe we do it european style where ethnic group have theitr own country. it makes homogenity.....this multi tribal setting in nigerian aint working from the look of it. just look at the election that passed now let us wait till they name ministers...you will see the type of buffooons they will put there the former STATE governmor that run the biggest economy in NIGERIA that have economy bigger than ghana, togo binin republic but the state is small.... do you know what..the state is in debt to the tune of half a trillion yet no tangible thing..just few roads the other roads tolled.. mehn we just cant continue like this...if you have been to dubai and see infrastructure, you will marvel.AFRICA DO NOT NEED TO INVENT ANYTHING BUT SIMPLY COPY AND PASTE LIKE DUBAI Is that also hard? Dollyak: Seriously, I am tired of the whole situation. The main reason I even give a fvck is because of the poor people I see any time I am in naija. It's an hopeless situation with a downward snowball effect. Just secure your future and that of your family so that when the inevitable bad times comes, you can go and live in any developed countries of your choice. It's funny how the few that are better off are the ones who cares about the country, while the poor ones are blinded and brainwashed with hatred, tribalism, short sightedness, religious intolerance etc. |
