Culture › Here Are Some Of The Most Obvious Things That A Girl Gains When She Is Circumcis by tonychristopher(op): 6:36pm On May 27, 2015 |
Here are some of the most obvious things that a girl gains when she is circumcised:
* it is a rite of passage and proof of adulthood. One day she is a girl; the next, a woman;
* it raises her status in her community, both because of the added purity that circumcision brings and the bravery that initiates are called upon to show;
* it confers maturity and inculcates positive character traits, including the ability to endure pain and a submissive nature;
* the circumcision ritual is an enjoyable one, in which the girl is the centre of attention and receives presents and moral instruction from her elders;
* it creates a bond between the generations, as all women in that society must undergo it and thus have shared an important experience;
* the girl will never have her conscience troubled by lustful thoughts or sensations or temptations such as masturbation;
* there is little or no risk of premarital relationships which end in heartbreak or the stigma and social difficulties of illegitimate birth (this is especially so with full circumcision, i.e. all impure tissue is removed and the girl is sewn up until her wedding night);
* the bond between husband and wife is closer because neither will have had sex with anyone else and the relationship will be motivated by love rather than primarily lust, because there will be no physical drive for the women, only an emotional one;
* there is no incentive for extramarital sex, hence marriages are made more secure;
* there will be far fewer rapes (especially in the case of full circumcision);
* marriages are also made closer because the emphasis is taken away from sexual technique and performance;
* children are better cared-for because there is less incentive for a marriage to break up, and because the husband can be more confident that the children are his.
There are many ills in today's Western society which could easily be eradicated by the adoption of universal female circumcision with infibulation at puberty. Think of the positive impact on the teenage pregnancy rate in the US, which has been linked to the rise of crime and ghettoisation, especially for minorities. And it would create more peaceful, satisfied women - at the moment females are told that this little nub of skin, a vestigial penis, should have awesome phallic power. For most of them, it just doesn't, which creates dissatisfaction.
So, in answer to the question on your website: yes, I do believe that the girl in the picture should be circumcised. It will do her good, and she will thank you for it. |

To be honest with all and sundry I was born in imo stae and been in Enugu sate and when you say awka is the best capital in east of Niger..i doubt it but it still depends on yardstick I give it to Uyo, Then PH, Then Enugu, Then Owerri, Then Awka(Awka is a new city less than 25yrs old) then Calabar lastly Abakiliki and Umuahia These are the cities Est of Niger AnambraDota: Nwanne its seems you are not following the arguement.
Oneeast said Awka Is the best capital city East of the Niger, this is a blank statement, no comparison no calling out but Zonacom jump into the circle and started talking about North.
Chino didn't mention North neither did he call any state, it was Zonacom that started the comparison which attracted my ire. So we don't compare, we know our state more than anybody and how our state, cities, towns and villages were a decade ago, we didn't start with other people, we suffered some handicaps, we were and are being marginalize in sharing national cake but when we look back and forth and see where we were, where we are and where we are going, we can't help but to beat our chest that we are the greatest.
Oneeast never compared, a mofo did that to spur a war.

Politics › Re: You Must Fulfill Your Campaign Promises – Lamido To GMB by tonychristopher: 11:16am On May 27, 2015 |
Seconded Talk is cheap but GMB will understand talk aint cheap afterall EUROBOMBER: Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa state has tacitly attacked President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari for his utterance earlier in the month when governors under the All Progressives Congress (APC) paid him a congratulatory visit.
It would be recalled that Buhari while addressing news men, said he does not know how to tell Nigerians that he will not be able to turn the economy around quickly as promised.
“The expectation is too high and I have started nervously to explain to people that Rome was not built in a day. For this to be corrected, please, give the incoming government a chance”, Buhari said.
This however didn’t go down well with Governor Lamido as he has warned the incoming administration against giving excuses for not implementing its campaign promises, Daily Post.
According to Governor Lamido, Nigerians would not tolerate any failure on its part as soon as it assumes office on May 29.
Speaking while performing his last public function in Dutse, the state capital, where he commissioned the N302 million Jigawa State Independent National Electoral Commission, (JSIEC) office, Lamido said Nigerians were impatiently waiting for the next government to execute its campaign promises.
According to him: “We heard them asking Nigerians for patience on their inability to implement their electoral promises even before assuming office. They also said that they can’t achieve everything overnight and that everything should be done gradually. Which gradually? Is it now that they know that everything should be gradual?
“As Nigerians too, we are not going anywhere; we will keep tracking the government’s failures as there will be no tolerance and we must shout at them and they must work for Nigerians. Our government turned Nigeria into a new world, Jigawa State in particular, but because of selfish interests, they kept sabotaging, blackmailing and intimidating our government”
