VickJames: Igbos are something else. The way we got here, its only God that knows. God just single-handedly blessed us and make us what we're today. It is important that our past can be transformed as strength of the future. If only we can get a good television station that can permeate through different important parts of the country, we can sell both our state and other igbo states too.
What we don't understand is this:
1. We're the highest population of people who had a republican system of government. The western media has turned it to under-civilisation but what people don't understand is that we can turn into an asset. Republican system goes a long way to show that we have been breeding people who can think for themselves, fend for themselves, protect themselves and still become successful without being ruled over.
2. The various wars we fought with the british i.e the ekumeku war and others can be sold as asset too. It will be shown to the world that we're strong and can make things happen when we put our minds to it.
3. We can buy this Equaino's book and try to rebrand it in such a way that it will buttress the fact that the igbos are strong were open to western education and seeking freedom since the time immemorial.
4. Germany, Russia and Poland still sell their war experiences and have used it to tell the world how they've grown past the destruction of the war and where they are at the moment. They show you war sites and call many people to tell war stories and how they ran for their lives. We will show people various videos of then and now, and tell people that many of the kwashiorkwor stricken people of yesterday have become billionaires in their own right. This goes to show how we've come to light after many years of darkness.
5. We sell the image of our greats. Tell the world what they have achieved but academic, business and other facets of life. Show the world how they were home-grown and what they've been doing.
6. We'll use this medium to shield the crimes in the east and bring the governors and senators to light. Show them the manufacturing power of our people.
7. Sell the image of our indigenous manufacturers and businessmen in our land. Show the world what we can manufacture and what we can do with our resources in the east.
8. Change people's perception about the east being an erosion site and show them what we can do in art. This will make our art and culture sector of our states wake up and this will make that industry boom too. If we have programmes in the week that can highlight our artistic prowess, we can drag development to the region.
9. Publicise awards in the east and for people from all works of life. Give awards to many of different regions and country. This will make us less tribalistic and more open to people. Give them award for no reason and make people see us as open people. But this award will be one thing everyone will be looking out for.
10. Make emotional documentary on how someone from grass to grace made it in the east through investing in the east. This will boost the image of the people.
Media is like light beaming on a particular people. When light is shown on you, you will behave well. This will make our youths behave well because light will be on them.
The east shouldn't breed mediocre station and mediocre journalists who can't "go there" or do something crazy to get reports. The east can be a stronghold of development if only we can get these things right.
They may think they won't get subscribers, the opposite will be the case.
We have to start looking at media ..the power of media is immense
Krystalxxx: Ok. All these guys that are always talking shit. I have been with my bf for quite a long while now. Since we met, I have been funding him with money and foodstuff as he always claimed that he is broke or hungry. Being my first but longest relationship, I adhered to this advice of 'be a helper not a golddigger' but in return he has mocked me by using this money to buy credit for other women and other such goodies. In our long time of sticking through thick and thin, he has never taken me out,. And now that he has graduated before me, I see no 'reward' in sight. Instead, it's as though he's saying 'shebi u thought you had enough to give me right? ' mocking me. Some fellow girls have blamed me for the outcome, saying all this happened because a woman is never meant to help a man out.
In this case you guys should absolutely shut up. You know why? You claim you want helpmates but if you find such a woman you mistreat her. Then you will go for a gold digger with curves all the same. Obasonjo had wives before he became president. Women who stood by him in his tough times, but he went for Bleached and beautiful Stella who just came to sit on the throne other women worked for. How many stories do we hear of guys who marry a woman with nothing and when the going gets good they discard this woman to bring in a younger one ? I have seen these stories all around me ! In real life! When a woman sticks by you una take her to be a fool, so everyone , all d guys here should stop making needless noise. It's either men don't know what they want or they just love to complain. Abeg park well cuz we know the ending of all these rants even if a woman should stand by you, it's not as if you will appreciate it. We all know that in reality the girl who stands close or spends for his sake is seen as the fool. #drops phone.
Never date a lazy dude ...date a focused dude
No decent man makes financial demands from a woman...it is always the last resort
Orikinla: My mother of blessed memory, Mrs. Gladys Eke told me a great thing in our mother tongue, Igbo, but translated to English meaning: "A young man saw a beautiful maiden on the way, but he had no money to pay her bride price and just stood there enraptured by her beauty until another man came and paid her bride price and married her. The poor admirer lost her to the suitor who could afford her bride price". Then my mother said the poor man should not have stood there just admiring the beautiful maiden and day dreaming on loving her. He should have gone to work to get the money to pay her bride price and he would not have lost her. No bride price, no bride. Any man without money asking a woman out is only asking for trouble, because he cannot provide for her. Even every dummy knows the popular saying; NO ROMANCE WITHOUT FINANCE. It is even a popular hit song. Even rich girls don't like broke or poor boys. And following the moral of the story. I never asked any girl out when I was still struggling to make ends meet. Several girls liked and loved me, even beautiful Caucasian babes from America and Europe, but I never asked them out. One love crazy one, Mosumola brought money for me to take her out, but I rejected her offer and she left me alone. Peter Okoye found Lola when he went to collect a fat cheque for his performance at the company where she worked and she fell in love at first sight of the cash flow before she even saw his six packs later. When Peter was still poor and struggling, you could see his girlfried in that old picture was not looking happy. Where is she today? She must have cheated on poor Peter and left him. TuFace Idibia lost one beauty queen years ago, because of his poverty. He was so poor that she even gave him some money and left him for one rich older man. God help you when your girlfriend tells you that she is hungry and you cannot afford to feed her or when she needs sanitary pad and you cannot afford one. She wil leave. Finis.
Why are you women make things easy for us men...we believe that we can just fling some was of money and eny woman will open her legs
I am a man that gas family but do you know how many women young women in their teens throw their self on us. Just for few thousands ..thanks for making this easier
Some will even beg you to make them pregnant so that they will be your baba mama
Just because you are giving her some change weekly
Men many single lady are damn too cheap like 80%
Let take this scenario ...you take a girl out she places order and you places order now time to pay the bill ..she insists that she pays hers
Now you take a girl out ..she eats everything ..very broke never had a penny and she is about to leave she beggs you for transport fair maybe with the annoying one air time
As a man who will you respect amongst the two
Now you have a girlfriend ...she is always with you making intellectual inputs in your life advising you..you do have sex with this girl..but if you want to give her money after sex..she gets infuriated ...asking you why? That she is not a slot
Then you have this vane girl that talk Peru hair, manicure and you still have sex with her but while having sex she will ask you to remember to buy her so so and so ..you agree after sex..she will be naked you throw wad of money like 20k in her naked body
Amongst these two ladies ..who is more respectable again
So women are making this very easy for us men
But thanks lord I am a family man ..I take others like Pepsi and drop em
cyprus000: I find this conversation a kind of tiring and soul draining. I aint gifted with energy to go concentric on same matter that justifies hogwash and still emanate vapid shitt.
The embolded: if you have 3years experience. Sorry to burst your bubble. I'm not only inebriated by it. I'm ineffably witted in that field
If I am to give a sincere advice. I'd say you should hyper-aesthetically exercise macography, upon the situs, which you tenant, cos if you propell ourself to the toposphere of my lexical echolon.
The land would be magnamiously conflugrated for a repose.
I was having a civil discuss with you and you went all emotional. I'm not gifted with patience to tolerate that kind of outburst. So I advice you pass
You ended up confusing the dude instead of communication
Adanna28: Yeah you have a point men shouldn't be mad when a woman goes for ready made men. After all who really wants to go for a woman that can't even hold her own and support herself financially?
This is not the 1950s era where men have to cater to your beck n call, get off your yansh and raise your level.
Yeah if he your husband of course he will support you, but it goes both ways it a partnership for life.
But a mere girlfriend wanting her man to play " Daddy" n supply all her needs? Lol grow a spine and make your own money.
Plus those ready made men aren't looking for commitment, he probably has many side dishes to go with the main meal.
I personally can't live my life like that, using my pus.sy as a bargaining chip to get funds, it the same thing as an ashewo wanting payment for services, I got dignity to me.
I've been with my man through the good and the rough times, even supported him when he been down financially without malice or judgement because I know it just a temporary setback.
He been there for me too when I've struggled, we help each other out, after all it a partnership not queen to slave.
I love my Igbo/Edo Obim very much, man of good conscience, not perfect but hey I ain't exactly an angel myself.
But I stick by him through thick n thin coz I know no matter the circumstances, we hustle n work together to progress.
Ada OMA
This is exactly the reason why Igbo rarely look other tribes for marraige ..you have proved that Igbo finesse
bigfrancis21: Interesting article. It is interesting to read of communities and towns ancestrally found by Igbo-speaking people's which would not readily accept today that they were founded by Igbos. Several non-Igbo speaking communities (Ijaw, Ibibio, Isoko etc.) in the Niger Delta were originally founded by Igbos but due to rampant Igbophobia today, these communities would flatly deny any Igbo ancestry or connection to the Igbos. The Igbos are still suffering from the effects of the loss after the Civil war till today.
Urhobos even say 'biko' for please. I don't think they would want to easily accept that they borrowed the word from Igbos.
Not only biko
They call obala for blood Ngashi for spoon. Onwuro for he is dead
A lot of many Igbo word...I had isoko colleague then and lived in warri

~if we go by ur logic here,u find out that the isokos were exapading into ukwale/igbo areas. I think the british came @ d genesis of our expansion. I'd not for civilisation nd colonization would probably had expanded as far as aniocha/oshimili entering into neighbouring rivers state, eating deeper into bayelsa making us the largest ethnic group in the ss
~there is nothing lyk customary tenants. Your igboid cousins must have lost their lands through war nd I guess they are still bitter bout it.or u go help den collect rent
~that ur fishing. Story get k-leg.hw persin catch fish finish con datch am to ur neighbour e put juju for mouth if so uno go slap am commot for him mouth
~those communities are border communities nd mist border communities are bilingual(world wide). Ikiagbodo an ijaw town in delta speaks both ijaw nd urhobo
~isokos are the third largest ethnic group in delta state(urhobo, enuani ibos, isoko, ika, ukwale, ijaw, itsekiri).so how will the isokos @ d border lose there Lang. Md culture to a sparsely populated ikwale wen neighboured by their densely populated brothers?
~the isokos make up more than 15% of ndokwa east nd should be rightly renamed ndokwa/isoko lga
~now if the isokos in ndokwa east wants to be assimilated into isoko south y kill urself bout it after all dey ain't with an albino behind a violent inspiring radio station
~i think we are better empire builders than the binis.if they had adopted our style of expansion nd language spread the bini language would probably b d 4thlargest
~we gonna take over that lga nd speaking their language is of advantage to us coz we gonna be producing the next anioma gov
~the ukwales are not even igbos nd don't blame the isoks there as u did earlier in previous post it's not their fault that they were carved into that lga just lyk igbos in bernue. O put ur house in order in love out of ur anioma being igbo rubish

Ogogoro induced submission ...isoko wey get few local government and to you ukwani isn't Igbo. They are Latino
I'm 25 years old, I met this guy online via chatting and before i knew, we met and we fell deeply in love. This guy is irresistible when we met and i never prayed for something more, because he was so caring, lovely and loving, not only that he is so tall and handsome as i have always prayed for. After a month we knew each other better and every minute i rang him up, he later told me and revealed to me everything about him, because he is not the flamboyant type of guy, i hardly notice that he is loaded.
At age 33 he has a lot of properties and work with a Ministry in Lagos, seconded employment with one int'l institution, he got me int'l passport and took me out of Nigeria shore for the first time in my life. I am from an average family and I'm not easily moved with material things, I'm a working class lady earning moderate salary and living well, i had a relationship before him but not a stable one.
He later revealed to me that he has something to tell me that might tear us apart, i made up my mind since it would not lead to my death, i bet i have reached my bus stop, because he is also in love with me. What a perfect match!. Until the day he bursted it out that he is married with kids and he was sweating and breathing so restlessly, waiting for me to breakup with him, i reassured him i will still love him at that, he explained he impregnated the girl and his family forced him to marry the girl...in short, three kids, two boys and a girl from the woman,(first boy and a twins).
I almost fainted, but pretended as if all is well, at least he still managed to tell me to let me decide to continue or not. We both continued and this month make our 6th month and he is already talking about our marriage, he tried divorcing the first wife, but get warned to let her be to make peace reign, i noticed he loves me so much and also loves his children too well too. He is traveling out soon to study for his PH.D. He wants me to get pregnant for him and do the needful with my family and declare his intentions of taking me as his second wife to his first wife and family...But at this stage i have doubting mind maybe i'm ready to go on or not..i don't feel like ruining the woman's home, and i don't feel like losing this my sweet love, he is not forcing me and he wants me to decide for myself....
Please help me dearies, abuse are allowed at least maybe it will straighten my brain..but i sincerely love him, he promised to settle me down in another state and assured me that all will be well. The issue is i'm so CONFUSED.
Stay away or be ready to welcome Mr. Nemesis
But why is it that ladies are this stupid ..so in your wildest dream you think that such a dude won't be married
Stay the fvck away from him or the wife will bath you with acid ...pls I advise you
Go look for a man that you can build future together
wingman: Gbam!!! This is just what it is. Had Biafra won the war or if there was no war will all this crap come up ?? How come nobody denied their Igboness pre-Nigeria civil war years ?? Just to avoid marginalization many denied their roots even when their names state boldly who they are. Off course it was a futile exercise.
But the people that caused the war are from delta Igbo ...90% of those bastards are from delta Igbo
Now this is what we mainland Igbo get
Well I know pure Igbo there and the few dinials are those that make noise and they are from agbor and ukwuani
Maybe they should ask why swampy clans of delta reference them as non core deltans

VivaVivre: An Agbor ancient king was an actual prince in the Bini kingdom. As was part of tradition, a prince who has come of age could move out of his father's domain with his immediate family and servants, and then settle on any of the lands under his father: that was the case with the 1st Agbor king. Agbor Dein/ Agbor Obi was where he settled and established his own kingdom (the agbor people were his father's subjects, so there was no dispute to his ruling them). As for why they bear Igbo names; in early times, the Igbos who were merchants, missionaries and teachers, came upon agbor and became integrated with the locals. They inter-married, learned each other's cultures/ways of life, hence some ika words were substituted with igbo words and new igbo words were introduced to the ika vocabulary. However, the Ika people still maintained their customs and traditions, their deities are still Ancient Bini deities e.g., Ovia and Idumu-Oza. Idumu-Oza is a village in Esan named after their local deity. The Agbor Chieftains and Monarchs still dress in a like manner to the Binis. The Word Agbon in Benin means Land: that was the name of the place, before the British came and changed the writing to Agbor. Many place names in Nigeria were changed by the British, because their initial names were hard for the foreigners to pronounce. E.g., Zaria was Zazzau, Awka was Oka, Awgu was Ogwu, Awkunana was Okunano, Port-Harcourt was Ebe-Ocha. I hope I have enlightened you?

nwanlecha: Looking at this thread, one would notice that 99.9% of the peeps who have been trying to disparage the result of this study all come from one particular ethnic group, the yoruba. Hence, this thread also helps to solidify the assertion that yorubas are the main ethnic group, who envy and hate passionately the exceptional abilities of the great Ndi Igbo. I am sure most of them still can't get over the fact that the researcher also stated that when the different Nigerian ethnicities were merged as one, their result was considerably lower than that of the Chinese and a few other groups. But once the Nigerian group was separated into their different ethnicities, the result of the Igbo group became clearly ahead of the other groups involved in the study, and remarkably, even higher than that of the Chinese group. When we tell these Yoruba peeps that we are not in competition with them, they will start fuming and prefer to continue living in self-denial. The truth is that Ndi Igbo have no worthy competition in nigeria. Our competitors are found on the world stage. Simple!
but wait are you a sociologist or a historian .....? but there are some good yorubas i have encountered to be honest, nice pals and business associate but defnitely not this OP
xtrorse: Frustrated descendant of a fallen demon from Odua Islamic Republic of Ritual-killers, find outlined hereafter are THE UNEQUALLED LEGACIES OF YORUBA god, AWO, the chief proponent of hatred, bitterness, tribalism, nepotism, falsehood, noise-making and propaganda and mastermind of the genocide on Igbos.
Apart from talking like parrots and embezzling public funds while ass-licking their Hausa-Fulani-Kanuri slave masters, what else are Yoruba people good at - ritual-killings, office charms, tribalism, nepotism, falsehood, noise-making and propaganda?
A murderer will kill, a thief will steal from you, but you'll never know where you stand with a liar...
It is said that a lie may travel for a thousand miles, but it takes just one step of truth to catch up with it.
Just to keep the record straight, let me remind you what these bile-filled, hateful and intolerant creatures of Odua Islamic Republic of Ritual-killers (OIRR) are known for:
1. Ritual killers, kidnappers, cannibals and human parts merchants. That's why Yoruba land is the World Capital of Ritual-killers.
25. Over 95% of Nigerians in British prisons are Yorubas.
26. Yorubas are the worst pirates sabotaging the hard labour of people round the world! They translate foreign movies to Yoruba. They compile their Yoruba worthless movies about Ten into one CD! That's why their movie covers are long like telemondo while Nollywood is small.
One funny thing about the parasitic tribe of Yoruba, is that many of their greedy leaders and billionaires are always having issues of financial crimes involving government funds. When they talk of entrepreneurs, they cunningly bring in people like Folorunso Alakija who is just feeding fat on the commonwealth via the crude oil resources at another man's backyard. Little wonder she is now the richest black woman on earth.
Without government connections and patronage, Wale Tinubu, Jimoh Ibrahim, Femi Otedola, Mike Adenuga etc. will be nowhere today, and that's why every now and then you would hear them being linked with one financial crime or the other.
The remaining lazy Yaribanza ingrates believe one cannot achieve success save by ritual-killings.
There is no doubt that the South West is a notorious hub of ritualists. No passing week that you don't hear about Yaribanza people including their Alfas caught with human flesh and heads.
In the SE Okija is not up to a local government but the whole of two States in the SW is dedicated to deities and fettishness - Ogun and Osun deities. It's no longer news that Yorubaland is notorious for human parts business, with the headquarters situated in Soka Evil Forest, Ibadan. This is in addition to incest, child molestation, bank fraud, credit card scam, Oluwole forgery, internet fraudsters, fettishness/juju, terrorism, thuggery, kidnapping, omonile touts, etc.
Yorubaland - The World Capital of Ritual-killings
So much for Yoruba 'sufferstication'!
Yoruba land is indeed the undisputed Ritual Capital of the Whole Wide World. See the list of the Dark Spots operated by these 'suffersticated' and bile-filled cretins operating in human forms.
1. Ota, Ogun State 2. Lambe, Ogun State 3. Ikorodu,Lagos State 4.Mowe, Ogun State 5. The Bridge linking Abiola Garden with Otedola Estate, Lagos. 6. Isheri Olowo-Ira under Bridge, Lagos 7. Toyota Bus Stop on Apapa/Oshodi Expressway, Lagos (Clifford Oji's former location) [s]8. Waterfront River Niger area Of Onitsha, Anambra State 9. Isiala-Ngwa,Abia state 10, Igwurita, Muruokoro, Port Harcourt, Rivers state [/s] 11. Ilorin-Oro Road, Kwara state [s] 12. Lokoja-Abuja Expressway, Kogi state 13. Kaduna Eastern By-Pass, Kaduna state 14.The Bank of River Kaduna, Kaduna state 15.Kaduna/Abuja Expressway, Kaduna state 16.Abuja Motor Park,Kaduna 17. Kawo Motor Park,Kaduna 18. The Railway tracks, Kaduna[/s]
Over the years, Yorubas in connivance with their Hausa-Fulani slave masters have been plundering Eastern resources, looting everywhere and polluting the land.
Just like the chameleon, the Yorubas can change the colour of their skin at will and can vacillate at random between Christian and Muslim worlds whenever the evil spirit begins to operate them. Little wonder they are descendants of a fallen demon! The vacillation is akin to the abracadabra of a sworn homosexual who might screw a man today, a woman tomorrow, or an animal the next time. You never can tell.
The level of Yoruba treacheery and betrayal is second to none.
Finding a reliable and trustworthy Yoruba person is like searching for a pin in a haystack. Yorubas who possess these good characters are rare.
Outlined below are the indisputable cases of the treachery of these notorious, hateful tribe.
1* Afonja betrayed his Yaribanza people to the Fulani; Ilorin still remains an Islamic caliphate till date.
2* It was the testimony of some Yoruba Action Group leaders against Chief Awolowo that was used against him.
3* Justice Sowemimo, a Yoruba judge was used by the Hausa-Fulani Government to send Chief Awolowo to jail.
4* Chief Awolowo was an unyielding advocate of true federalism but suddenly changes as soon as he was appointed the Minister of local Government and Finance.
5* General Oladipo Diya, a Yoruba man was used by Hausa-Fulani to batter NADECO, Afenifere, Odua Movement and other Yoruba struggle groups.
6* Yoruba Obas collected bribe instead of fighting for the unjust murder of their "beloved son" MKO Abiola as confessed by Oba Akiolu.
7* MKO Abiola used his Concord newspaper to fight his own brother Obafemi Awolowo.
8* The same MKO Abiola financed the coup that sacked his brother Ernest Shonekan and brought in General Abacha - an Hausa-Fulani to power.
9* MKO Abiola and other Yoruba elders even went to Dodan Barracks to congratulate General Sani Abacha for overthrowing their brother. It's so pathetic!
10* Awolowo usurp the agreement he made with Ojukwu before his release from Eastern prison.
11* A small boy Yakubu Gowon used Pa Awolowo to cling on to power against Southern interest.
12* Obasanjo was very key to denying Goodluck Jonathan a second term.
You cannot trust the allegiance of a Yoruba man, even the Abobaku that was once loyal to the Ooni of Ife absconded when it was time to prove his true loyalty. Yorubas are not only treacherous but always at the servitude of the Northerners which is very worrisome.
MrkenOkonkwo: After the death of Cynthia in the hands of her fellow Igbo brothers, A 23-year-old lady in Awka Etiti, Idemili South Local Government of Anambra State was killed on July 29. Miss Francisca Okoli was killed after she resisted attempts by a five-man armed robbery gang to rape her in the presence of her parents. NDI IGBO, why do we Rob, Rape, Destroy and kill ourselves?, Igbo people commit a lot of atrocities against themselves in Nigeria today. Are we one people?, Boko Haram are recently killing Hundreds of thousands of Igbo people plus the ones they have slaughtered years back. How can we be united to fight those that are fighting against us? since we have made it a duty to be killing ourselves. Of course wherever something like this happen among people, definitely one don’t need to be told there are no Love and peace existing, NDI IGBO do not like one another because we kill one another and this means that we will never like one another. There are many factors among us, States were created by the Federal government is the sense to make sure federal allocation gets to the reach of everyone but NDI IGBO in particular thought States creation were to separate us NO, it is never so at all, NDI IGBO please this is getting too much, OHANEZE NDI IGBO please what are those of you in the leadership of this Forum are saying about this? Something has to be done quickly to put an end to this hopelessness. IGBOS use their own hands to destroy themselves wherever they live both in abroad, why are we like that?, dose the Yoruba and Hausa people kill themselves?. It is the IGBO people who rob their fellow IGBO people travelling on a bus from ALA IGBO {Igbo land} to Lagos, IGBOs Rape and Kill their sisters, IGBOs kidnap their own fellow IGBO family and will be in demand for ransom from the victims family or else they kill the victim. IGBO people betray one another just because of money, IGBO people poison one another in a gathering of celebration and went ahead to poison another person to death where they gather for a burial or funeral ceremonies why?. IGBO people brings out more one candidate during any Federal election in Nigeria, instead of being one united people, the hate rate amongst them will never allow it to occure to their minds that it is very impossible for any of the candidates they select to win the election forgetting that other tribes of people contesting for the same post present only one candidate which they all support but never the same in case of NDI IGBO. IGBO people are never among the the list of richest people in Nigeria still yet, IGBO are the people who dose anything to get rich, the question now is, with all these zeal and quest to become rich, why are we not among the richest at least in Nigeria not to talk of Africa or the World in general or can we say that the people who conduct this poll hate the IGBOs? or do we say that they are correct in their conducts? If you want to talk about other things like setting up a place of worship, IGBO people are far behind the pace setters of places of Worship in the history of Nigeria but yet, majority of NDI IGBO claim to be Christians. NdI IGBO claim to come from Israel but the present and previous Israelites never lived their lifes as NDI IGBO of this present generation are living, I will say that NDI IGBO of Old never lived life the way it is now because IGBOS are people that fear GOD but reverse is the case now, We do not fear to destroy what our hands cannot make. I am sad because these atrocities has been going on and on again while the perpetrators were going about living their normal life and if anyone there to point those who commits such evil crimes, he or she must loose their life because from how everything goes, we discovered that some of the Kidnapping kingpins are members of the high society group which makes it too difficult to arrest them, Imagine a Traditional Chief wil be Kidnap by who, an ordinary people can never and will never perform such acts on their own, this is to tell you that any accusation against the truth, there is definitely a lie against it. In a Society that have love for each other, people least thought of harming one another. NDI IGBO what is wrong with us?, I remembered those days when an IGBO person runs to fight to defend his fellow IGBO person from attack of other tribal person but reverse is the case today, IGBOs attack and kill themselves then, who will rescue them?. IGBO people, please let's think before we do. Let us not forget that he who kills must be killed, IGBO people, How can you feel when an armed person entered your home and threaten to rape your Daughter, Sister, Wife or Mother before your presence?, how those it seem to you as a person to kill a fellow human being, A BROTHER/SISTER for that matter? that fellow who begs you not to kill him or her but you insist and go ahead to rape her and later kill her, union IGBO who dose this, what was your inner mind telling you, dose your mind ask you what the out come of this evil am about to commit will turn to? ONYE IGBO, How dose is it irritate you when you put gun in your Brother or Sister’s head threaten to shoot and kill just because of AKU NKE UWA {Material Things} how do feel? NDI IGBO, Why do we sell our conscience, whom did we sell it to and why did we sell it? It's very unfortunate to see that it is only NDI IGBO that commit a hilarious crime against themselves in this manner please my people, it is high time we sit down and evaluate all these crimes we do against ourselves. The quest of money has lead us astray, Money has ever taken anybody to heaven or do we not want to go to Heaven?. OHANEZE NDI IGBO, please call all your Sons and Daughters, talk to them and advice them so that they should stop these evils against each other because this has made us to be the 3rd class Citizen in a country we owed together with others. We must put an end to this immoral behaviors. In Conclusion, Let me quote the Bible because I believe that at least 75% of NDI IGBO are Christians. Proverbs 14 vs 34: Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to nation or sin condemns any people. Thank you and Be Blessed as you follow they of LIFE which is Jesus Christ Amen. I know that you have this all figured out by bearing an igbo monika Oga try and use punctuation marks, it makes your write up readable. I knew they thought us use of paragraph, ellipsis and comma in JSS classes. So it will be nice to use them.
Now why do you hate igbo so much..are you blaming your chi for not creating you igbo? This is why you have decided to use igbo monika. But whatever sails your ship so be it. Have a blessed day...but if I were you jettison the igbo monica. It doesn’t tell good bro...
Just an advise
NICE ADVICE ANYWAY...IGBO AINT SAINT AND WE KNOW THAT, WE HAVE THE WORST OF THE WORST AND THE BEST OF THE BEST IN NIGERIA ALSO
manchy7531: LOOK WHO IS GOING TO SCHOOL IN NIGERIA: THE STATISTICS MAY SURPRISE YOU Ikechukwu Agbor Tuesday, February 10, 2009 ikeagbor@yahoo.com Dallas, Texas, USA
"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence". --John Adam's (1735 - 1826) argument as he defended soldiers in the Boston Massacre trials in December 1770.
In every conceivable hamlet in Nigeria and most of Africa are men and women from the South-East who toil to make ends meet, and because of their sheer number, the press in Nigeria has continued to assert, albeit wrongly that the South-Easterners have abandoned education.
Why is that so?
Come along with me as we meander through the maze, bare the facts and bust the myth of who is in school and who is not.
We will begin by consulting JAMB, culling figures from UME admissions in the years 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007, and then crunching the numbers and provide the statistics.
Fig.1. Total Admissions for the six year period for the six geo-political zones
It is noteworthy that the South-West lags behind among the three zones that comprise the South, and so for the purposes of this presentation, I will limit the study to the three Southern zones as the Northern zones have historically lagged behind their Southern counterparts.
From the above, it can thus be established that the South-East has more of her young men and women admitted to Nigerian universities than either the South-West or the South-South; "quota" system not withstanding. The South-South has been next to the South-East in the number of university admissions in all the years except 2006 and 2007 when South-West made a nominal gain. Within the South-South, it is interesting to note that Delta State is tops, and no attempt will be made on the part of the author to divvy up the South-South for the purposes of this presentation in spite of the fact that Delta and Rivers States have more of their young men and women admitted than Kwara and Kogi put together, so no numbers will be appropriated from the South-South into South-East, in as much as in the same token no remnants of Kogi and Kwara States will be consigned into the South-West.
The South-East and the South-West have far more homogeneity within the population that occupies its geographic space due to language. It is also noteworthy that there is a presence of Ijaw in the South-West but still my subsequent comparison will be solely confined to only the South-West and the South-East.
It can be seen from the above that it was only in 2004 that the number of women surpassed the men by a miniscule number. Also note the spikes in 2003 and 2004; I am not sure whether to attribute that to the number of universities under the wing of JAMB or to some other factors. The spike is also apparent when South-East is compared to both South-West and South-South (See Fig.4). It is also noteworthy that the South-East women have continued to keep pace with their male counterparts. To make a blanket statement that the South-East has abandoned education is totally false; that there are a number of men who are gainfully employed either as artisans or traders only goes to show that the South-East population has always been underestimated.
It is discernible that in the years from 2002 until 2007, the South-East has continued to lead the South-West in university admissions. The South-East bested the South-West in terms of number of admissions in both genders also. As to the spikes in 2003 and 2004, my best bet would be that in the subsequent years, JAMB divested from the number of universities under its wing. (See also Fig.3.) Fig.5. South-East and South-West admissions for males
We can glean from the above chart that there are more Southeast males in the universities than their counterparts in the Southwest. In 2005 ad 2006 the numbers essentially remained the same for each zone.
Fig.9. South-East and South-West male and female admissions for six years
From the above, among all genders, SE males lead the SE females barely, who in turn lead the SW males. The SW females are fewer in number of admissions than all others.
We can deduct from the above bar charts as follows:
From fig.1: among the six geo-political zones for six years admissions from 2002 through 2007, the SE leads followed by SS, then SW, NC, NW while NE bottomed out.
Fig.2: The SE leads the three zones in the south
Fig.3: Total male admissions in the SE is more than the female admissions for the six year period
Fig.4: SE leads SW in total admissions for six years in a row
Fig.5: SE males lead their SW counterparts in admissions for six years in row
Fig.6: SE females lead their SW counterparts in admissions for six years in a row
Fig.7: SE females lead SW males in admissions for six years in a row
Fig.8: SE males lead SW females in admissions for six years in a row
Fig.9: In all genders, SE males are tops, followed by SE females, then SW males, while S females bottomed out
In conclusion, if we add up the number of young men and women who are admitted into Nigeria universities together with the South-East men and women who are in the remotest conceivable hamlets of every state in Nigeria, and the rest in the West African sub-region and other parts of Africa, who are wrongly accused of having abandoned higher education while there South-East peers hold their own, it makes me to still demand to know how many we really are; the Nigerian state continues to spew out spurious population censuses.
Finally, if the South-East has more people in the universities when there is no reason other than that they have more candidates applying for same, it would be right and appropriately so to postulate that it in terms of population, there are more people in the South-East than either in the South-West or the South-South.
So the next time they tell you that South-East males have abandoned school, point the statistics in their face. And more poignantly ask them: O bu anyi anaghi eme ofuma; anyi oga egburu unu onwe anyi? (Aren't we doing well already; do we commit suicide for you all?)
But wait, in the next segment when the 2006 population census will be analyzed, the reader will be in for more shocker; the 2006 population census has Oyo State as the most populated State in the South-West outside Lagos, with a population of 5,591,581, while the most populated state in the South-East is Anambra State with a total population of 4,182,032. However in 2007 JAMB admissions, Anambra State recorded a total of 8,725 in admissions while Oyo State had 3,788….I am crunching the numbers.

CSTR2: I wonder why they are denying this now. They say igbos are too trickish or too smart to be trusted in business. What they are saying is that the igbo have a greater IQ . Ofcourse, they won't agree as it dosen't sound palatable.
Business is all about smartness and no dullard or theory person can run a business
That's why you rarely see profs in economics running a kiosk ..they can manage it but they know the whole theories
CSTR2: It is not uncommon to hear from Nigerians how igbos will outsmart you if not careful. That is a function of IQ. Deny it all you want, it will still be there and evident.
enochnochi: My take regarding states specializing on areas of comparative advantage. That's natural phenomenon bro, every state has an area of comparative advantage, it must not be a signed agreement. It will only hinder other states from diversifying their economies. If state A has the potential to go into XYZ, it shouldn't be denied that right just because state B is already into XYZ. Hope you got my illustration?
