ChristianMuslim:That's the problem. Members of our armed forces from the North feed bandits and terrorists with intel and weapons. How will banditry and terrorism ever be defeated? The problem is that many Nigerian adults are not critical-thinking. If they were they would see the obvious which is that the North is gone because Northerners, leaders and followers, aren't dedicating themselves enough to living peacefully and progressively. Which Northern leader has stepped up bravely to dedicate himself/herself to ending the Almajiri system which is the biggest recruitment Sergeant for banditry and terrorisms? How many are these bandits and terrorists? The population of the North is at least 80 to 140 million from Kwara and Kogi upwards. If a people are progressive and not tacitly in cahoot with terrorism and banditry, how is it conceivable they cannot deal with terrorists and bandits in their community they know and can easily overwhelm? If most Northerners sincerely desire peace and progress why aren't we seeing their effort to tame their bad eggs who are tiny in number? This can never happen in Yoruba land. Even cultists, when they do too much, are dealt with talk less terrorist kidnapping and killing heartlessly. Ask yourself where the Sunday Igboho's of the North are? The fact they are not visible, whereas the North has a big problem with banditry and terrorism, reveals the big picture to critical thinking Nigerians adults. |
Peacecore:You guys should try and see the obvious. The situation is hopeless and Tinubu knows that. All any decent President can do is give those who want peace and progress the freedom to achieve that. Those who , in their majority, want to embrace banditry and terrorism cannot be helped. Everything is eye service and PBAT knows that. It is only you guys who can't think critically who do not see what is obvious . The North is gone. This is a thread where a notorious bandit is bragging that security men are his protectors and informants and you are still attacking the President. Can't you guys see the obvious? |
kernniejay:Even that will not work. Don't you guys get it? Northern leaders at all levels (military, political, religious , cultural etc) are supporters and affiliates of bandits and terrorists. The problem is ideological. Banditry and terrorism only ends when Northerners want it to. Many Northerners support banditry and terrorism tacitly or overtly meaning there is no end in sight. If mercenaries neutralise all bandits today, won't more rise through the Almajiri recruiting system the likes of Atiku should dedicate themselves to ending yet they don't? Do you see Northern leaders taking responsibility for ending banditry and terrorism as Yoruba leaders did with Amotekun etal against insecurity imported into their land? What should that reveal to a critical-thinking person? The way the North wishes to live will always feed terrorism and Banditry. A critical-thinking South will understand that the best that can be achieved is for Southerners to gain the power to protect themselves and avoid the North. What most of you do not understand is that Nigeria is today a nation in all but name alone whereas the reality is that the core North is Afghanistan while the South is far more progressive in leaning. It can't work. Ask yourself how many times Atiku etal have vociferously condemned bandit and terrorists to demand our armed forces find and neutralise them. Instead, Air Strike that was strategic and successful, Atiku was quick to state innocent people were killed, playing politics and trying to gaslight Tinubu, whereas the area bombed is a terror hub no non-terrorists should be in and even a former COAS military general confirmed that. You guys are not seeing the obvious. The North is gone. They, leaders and followers, ruined themselves. Leaders deliberately subjugated and underdeveloped their human resources while followers failed to take leaders of the North to account. The option for the South is to gain the ability to protect herself well and for southerners to stay away from the core North and NC. Check the travel advisory info of most Western nation for their citizens in Nigeria. They advise them to stay out of the North and the SE. It is only the SW and parts of the SS still rated as safe. You guys need to start connecting the dots. You cannot end banditry and terrorism if Northerners themselves, leader and followers, are sponsoring and abetting it. Listen to the guy below to note you guys aren't clued on about the scale of the problem. Mercenaries cannot kill ideology bro. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEczxfZ1s7Q?si=1qrOqUYvGk5e9Y4x |
Peterobiisathie:Lol..You're probably correct. |
helinues:Indeed. The entire Africa jubilated when they were sent packing from the World cup by Canada. They have no shame. |
Interesting and thought-provoking comments. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1HixmpSqA7/ https://www.facebook.com/share/v/18n2wYx4x1/ |
zhike:I know you are overjoyed by this news. We will gladly have her back. You south African are all shades of wrong and a disgrace to black Africans. She will thrive in Nigeria and even realise she was being short--changed living in your Country.. Check the video below from a popular Ugandan vlogger. Can anyone say similar about you xenophobic lot? https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Pd4Zc43jw/ |
FatimaAbubakar:Yes. That's why you don't recognise quotation marks?
|
Dogalmighty17:He is merely ranting. No one can do anything to Tinubu. Nigeria is on edge. A lot of tension, ethnic/religious unrest, terrorism, banditry, political desperation etc. In the midst of all that, Yorubas continue to be the only one of the major ethnic group behaving impeccably and progressively. Yorubas are not noisemakers. No one harm Tinubu and get away with it. Yorubas will not accept it. Our patience with Nigeria is running very thin anyway. We know what we can be if are not bogged down by 'one Nigeria'. We do right by Nigeria daily. Don't engage in terrorism and are not the headache of the nation as the SE, NE and NW are. We accommodate and empower other ethnicities the most in our land and are progressive while others act up with IPOB, Banditry and terrorism. Yorubas are running out of patience with Nigeria. Trust me. Anything happen to PBAT, then we will go there and no one will be able to stop us. We aren't empty noisemakers. Never have been. |
FatimaAbubakar:Lol. Read the post again. All Nairalanders can see "Yoruba President" is in quote. You completed Primary school? |
Parachoko:Naturally. Tinubu is moving Nigeria towards true fiscal federalism. State policing will move Nigeria closer towards indigenes controlling their own States and corner. They don't like that because they want the land of others to be their estate while they remain intolerant, clannish and unaccommodating in their enclave.
|
No one can do anything to Tinubu. The Yorubas are the most important of the four major ethnic groups of Nigeria while the SW and SS are the most important regions of Nigeria. Yorubas know how to stand their ground as well. Additionally, Tinubu's influence extends beyond Nigeria. Working yourself up out of hatred for Tinubu and Yorubas achieves nothing because the standing of both in Nigeria is first class. Know that and know peace. Below is Atiku, you lot are hoping dislodge "Yoruba President", pledging Yorubas will take central and topmost position in his administration. Don't kid yourself. Deal with facts and reality. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/09/2027-atiku-courts-yoruba-voters-vows-south-west-will-shape-policies/

Sheuns:I resemble your teacher? |
God bless Bode George. An adversary of Tinubu from time immemorial but he regularly shows he stands for what is best for Nigeria and Nigerians. I remember he was the most outspoken Southerner in the PDP against the ambition of Atiku to clinch the Party's Presidential ticket in 2022 because of his insistence that PDP must respect the zoning agreement. Here, again, he is showing he is progressive. Unlike the desperate fraud Obi. State Police is long overdue. As George stated let Ondo citizens run the policing in their States exclusively. Ditto Kanu, Edo, Rivers etc |
Lol. Ooni of Ife too dey cap. When a man calls the Igbo a race, when they are an ethnic group, can you attach credence to anything else he says? Some of these Nigerian leaders are a big joke walahi.
|
Namaster:Indeed. Sad as it is to admit, and even as some will be uncomfortable with this truth, one of the major problem of Nigeria is how Northerners have children they cannot cater for and pawn into the Almajiri system. You are 💯% correct. Sensible and responsible adults know it is wrong to bring a child you cannot cater for adequately into the world.
|
Namaster:Absolutely. What is the main problem of Nigeria today if not the Almajiri children now being absorbed into banditry and terror cells? I have said it several times here that Nigeria must initiate an official family planning policy because we need productive human resources i.e children who become adults capable of producing solutions because they are well-educated and catered for properly. Not begging from age two across Nigeria. The realities we are refusing to confront is what is destroying Nigeria today. We can all remember that China initiated a one child per family policy family when the nation decided that such was needed to tackle how population growth was outstripping available resources. Having children that cannot be educated and catered for adequately only creates menaces to society. We all dey chop that breakfast today with banditry and terrorism. |
Wise talk OP. My opinion also. It is indeed very selfish to bring into the world children you cannot cater for adequately. I would go further to say men should prioritise having a decent degree of success/wealth and career progress before marrying because "love is not enough". When a man and his wife are struggling, the love can quickly turn to hate, resentment, animosity, infidelity and , eventually, divorce. In this day and age, smart men understand the need to be financially successful or at least afloat. It is the basis for a good life. |
BigYash:Yes I agree with the bolded, but only in the North because the FG is multi-layered and adversarial because of ethnicity, religion, compromised military and intelligence network etc. In the SW however, not possible. Even Igboho, Gani Adam and OPC will mobilise to decimate them. Some of you don't even think before you talk. How can bandits block Lagos-Ibadan expressway? |
. |
Tinubu is the greatest so far. Nigerians just don't appreciate it because, according to Reno Omokri, they are about Rice and Eba alone. If it isn't about what they they will eat, a lot of Nigerians don't have the intellect to understand what we must do to become.a developed nation. |
TemplarLandry:Indeed. He is doing too much. How can bandits achieve what he says? FG will simply deploy armed forces personnel to neutralise them. The strenght of bandits and terrorists lie in attacking and disappearing into forests or to Mali, Chad, Niger Republic, Burkina Faso etal. They cannot hijack a major Nigerian expressway facilitating commerce and travel because the Nigerian armed forces remain far superior to them. |
nairalanda1:No. Not correct. Wide off the mark even. The way the world works and develop is through an incentive and profit system. Give incentive to those seeking to make profit and they will help you achieve what you want. What Ogun State has always lacked is charismatic and technocratrically brilliant leadership that will be able to attract profit-seeking investors, from all corners of the globe, who will assist the development of the State. For example, huge arable land. Is it that hard to engage Netherland farmers who have mastered animal husbandry, to turn such into a huge part of the Dutch economy, to come and replicate same in Ogun State? You are far off the mark bro. This has nothing to do with tax. It is about leadership aggression, ambition and capacity to develop a geographical space by engaging all and sundry to bring their investment might in exchange for ROI i.e returns on investment. |
Ogun State needs a visionary, technocratically brilliant and innovative Governor. A man of ideas who will be capable of thinking outside the box to maximise the huge potential the State has to make it a competitor to Lagos per best States of Nigeria Yayi is incoming but I am not convinced he is that man. Let's hope he proves me wrong. |
lamentor78:Why is it all about forests for you? State Police, per the capacity of the Governor of the State, can gain the ability to be as modern and efficient as possible which is what the NPF lack and will always lack. An example is how Governor Akeredolu (RIP) demanded Fulani herdsmen and pastoralist operating in Ondo be identified and registered yet Malami never allowed it to happen. Under State Police, it is not even an issue. It is an order because the Governor is in charge. What he says goes. The only thing constant in life is change. You all fear State police because all that mosts Nigerians focus on, to include even Pastors, is politics and politicians. Whereas societies evolve , gain wealth and riches by being safe secure, business-friendly and geographical location people worldwide wish to visit and spend their money in. Forest guards should work alongside State police but the real game changer is for Governors who really care about security of the live and property of their people to take policing in their States into modernity rather than the current status where the NPF is at least 50 years behind best global standards. |
yarimo:Indeed. Should this even be a topic of discussion? We are talking about the Presidency of the biggest black nation on Earth. Ideally, anyone who will get to that position must be a leader of means, talent and focused achiever who has built things and people. No Nigerian who is honest can deny that about Tinubu. Yet we all know Obi was a below mediocre Governor who, till today and over a political career spanning 2 decades, has built nothing and no one. Are we serious in Nigeria? How do Nigerians reason so crudely yet we rate ourselves so highly? Obi is no leader and anyone who knows the qualities leaders must have will understand that. |
1Alex:Yeah, whatever. |
1Alex:Using Nairaland as a barometer, yes. |
