I personally believe it may be because they know State police will be staffed by indigenes frustrating their effort towards greater integration everywhere as the most permanently dispersed Nigerian ethnic group.

Every development, like State Policing, that makes indigenes gain greater control towards taking full charge of their States and region, meaning all Nigerians have to go and develop their States and region or risk becoming distinctly second class outside their States and region, Igbos cannot like or support.

You guys don't get the concept of State policing. It is not about personnel alone but how modernly efficient a State can make it's Police force.

Policing is not about bodies alone. Our federal Police is at least 70 years behind Police forces in the West because of under-investment in it's capacity to fight crime.
