It also depends on the story that is being spoiled or what exactly is being spoiled about a story.
For example, if someone spoils the twist in a mystery story, it basically destroys all the setups. The suspense is gone, the intrigue is gone and the viewing experience becomes hollow for most.

Well, if it's a boring movie. I'll want someone to explain the finishing to me. I don't really have patience for that.

Anyway, I enjoy knowing the ending of a boring movie before it happens. Except it's a very engaging movie.

I consume more series these days than movies itself.
Reading a plot synopsis is different from knowing actually what happens next in relation to spoilers.

At times spoilers for a show or movie could pique your interest in watching it. At times it taints the experience.

For example, the Sandman TV show, while it was great and very enjoyable for me, there was a feeling of weirdness for me that I can't explain cos I knew or have an understanding of what happens next. It became prominent in scenes where I could spot the difference between the live action adaptation and the comics.
I very much enjoyed and adore the show but the best parts I watched had a different feel than IF I went in blind.

Things like these tend to determine how well people enjoy adaptations of their favourite books or comics. That's why you see book readers at loggerheads with studios oftentimes. Eg Game of Thrones, Lord of The Rings, Marvel & DC etc.

Besides, I enjoy some shows differently. Some I enjoy best with weekly release and suspense. Some the binge watch style will do.

I don't like season movies oo.... anyway, I need to ask, why does "spoilers" affect how many people enjoy movies??
