Why are they even being allowed to compete in AFCON when they have no proper government?

We are risking our players’ lives by even sending them to Libya at all.

You buy weapons for your theatre of operations. Nigerias area of interest is West Africa and the Gulf of Guinea. It is not going to fight Russia or Brazil or China. If Russia tries to use the Sahel countries as proxy Nigeria will take them out. Nigeria easily has force dominance over its area of interest.

And by the way these planes are not relics. Nobody does dog fights any more. If I see you first, you are gone. It's down to Avionics and weapons systems not speed. And the M34 has powerful stand off Avionics. Even the Israelis use it. For deep penetration attack Nigeria has the J series.

No other country in West Africa can match Nigeria and that is the point.

Nigeria has no interest fighting SA or Egypt or Algeria in Africa. What for?

Can you also educate us how and why the Naira which use to be above the Dollar in 1980 is now far below the Dollar today?
When the multinationals were sending their earnings back to their home countries instead of reinvesting and circulating the money in Nigeria, why would the Naira not depreciate? What are you basing its value on?

For your currency to have value, you must retain the value generated from economic activities within your economy. Or at least a healthy percentage of it.

But if you or the multinationals prefer dollars in order to ship money abroad, how would the Naira have value? It’s the dollar that will have value.

As at Today .

*$1 = ₦1652
*£1 = ₦2010
*€1 = ₦1985

*ATTENTION*
Please lazy readers try and read to understand first before rushing to comment.

*In case you don't know the root cause of our problems today, please take time out and read below:*

*42 years ago, precisely on 25/07/1980 the exchange rate was:*
*$1 = 0.80k*

*Are you surprised?*

*Well, we were far more productive in 1980 than we are today.*

*In 1980 the key reasons for economic growth were as follows:*

*1. We were a net exporter of refined petroleum products. Today we import all our refined petroleum products.*

*2. We rode in locally assembled cars, buses and trucks. Peugeot cars in Kaduna and Volkswagen cars in Lagos.*

*3. Leyland produced trucks/buses in Ibadan and ANAMCO in Enugu also produced buses and trucks.*

*4. Steyr in Bauchi produced our Agricultural tractors. And it was not just Assembly, we were producing many of the components:*

*5. Vono products in Lagos produced the vehicle seats.*

*6. Exide in Ibadan produced the batteries, not just for Nigeria but for the entire West Africa.*

*7. IsoGlass and TSG in Ibadan produced the windshields.*

*8. Ferrodo in Ibadan produced the brake pads and discs*

*9. Dunlop produced Tyres in Lagos and Michelin Tyres were produced in Port Harcourt. And I mean tyres produced from rubber plantations located in Ogun, Bendel and Rivers State.*

*10. We were listening to Radio and watching television sets assembled in Ibadan by Sanyo.*

*11. We were using refrigerators, freezers and Airconditioners produced by Thermocool and Debo.*

*12. We were putting on clothes produced from the UNTL Textile Mills in Kaduna and Chellarams in Lagos. They were Not from imported cotton but from cotton grown in Nigeria.*

*13. Our water was running through pipes produced by Kwalipipe in Kano and Duraplast in Lagos .*

*14. Our toilets were fitted with WC produced in Kano and Abeokuta.*

*15 We were cooking with LPG gas stored inside gas cylinders produced at the NGC factory in Ibadan.*

*16. Our electricity was flowing through cables produced by the Nigerian Wire and Cable, Ibadan; NOCACO in Kaduna and Kablemetal in Lagos and Port Harcourt.*

*17. We had Bata and Lennards Stores producing the shoes we were putting on. The shoes were not from imported leather but from locally tanned leather in Kaduna*.

*18. We were mainly flying our Airways, (the Nigeria Airways), to most places in the world. The Nigeria Airways was about the biggest in Africa at the time*.

*19. Most of the foods we ate were grown or produced in Nigeria*.

*We were producing all of the above and many more in 1980*

*Today, we import almost everything. Isn't that alarming?*

*There lies the source of the terrible exchange rate we are experiencing today and everyone reading this has a critical role to play in reversing this very UGLY trend.*

*We have been talking about these problems and more for ages.*

*It is not enough for us to complain about the exchange rate or point out what others are not doing or are failing to do. The key questions are:*

*1. What are we producing now?*

*2. What role are our so-called Leaders/ Politicians of today playing?*

*We are forever shying away from responsibility whereas it is a stack reality and if we don't deal with it, it won't go away. In fact it will get worse*.

*To our dear Politicians, if you don't have the capacity to RESET Nigeria to what it was at least back in 1980 then please stay in your house and don't waste our time.*

*Let everyone of us go back to farm no matter how small*

*ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!!*

Copied.
ABEG MAKE WE HEAR SOMETHING JARE.

How many of those companies were Nigerian companies?

ZERO.

Just producing stuff and carting away their money overseas.

Who did it really help?

Today we have INNOSON indigenous vehicle manufacturing, Air Peace, Dangote Refinery, Nollywood film industry, Afrobeats music industry, Lagos as tech startup capital of Africa, we have PROFORCE manufacturing armoured personnel carriers and other advanced military vehicles. We have Nigerian-built satellites in space etc etc. We have indigenous telecoms giants like Glo.

So WHAT WE ARE WITNESSING is a SHIFT away from dependence on foreign multinationals to INDIGENOUS ECONOMIC EXPANSION.

That is what we need for GENUINE development.

The shift will be untidy, messy, and cause temporary hardship to some citizens, but ultimately we will be the better for it in the long run.

To put it in the simplest of terms, Nigeria has now decided to forget about the things that truly matter, like ensuring the quality of education, healthcare, or infrastructure. Instead, what truly threatens our nation’s future, it seems, are the cartoon characters with suspiciously rainbow-colored outfits. How thoughtful
Use your brain. It’s not there for decoration.

This directive will open up opportunities for NIGERIAN content creators.

That’s how you grow your economy.

Not by the capital flight of importing everything including cartoons, but by INDIGENISING productive activities and creating value in-house. And then exporting your value.

Instead of Nigeria importing irrelevant cartoons from USA, Nigeria should be a powerhouse of cartoon production, exporting to other African and Caribbean countries and beyond.

Ask them if their own children watch local cartoon. Their children are all abroad among the other kids from western world. Their kids can't even Speak the basics of our indigenous language.
IRRELEVANT NONSENSE.

Eventually THEIR OWN KIDS will prefer Nigerian cartoons, even there in America or wherever.

Just like their kids rock Burna, Tems, Rema, and Davido today.

Once NIGERIA indigenises a creative activity, be it music, films, fashion, food, it BLOWS worldwide, and everyone catches groove with it, as it becomes the in-thing.

Do you know how many indigenous creative people and digital artists will have access to jobs and business due to this new directive?

This was the same way OBJ ordered Nigerian radio stations to play 80% indigenous music around the year 2000, when all we rocked was R&B and hip hop.

Many like you abused him, called him a dictator, and said it was “misplaced priorities”.

Today Nigeria is a world music POWERHOUSE as a result of that OBJ order.
