Check your eligibility to work in Singapore

Before getting into an exhaustive job search, it’s a good idea to make sure you’re eligible to work in Singapore. There’re a few different kinds of permits based on your qualifications. The Ministry of Manpower in Singapore has published an online self assessment tool, SmArT, to gauge your likelihood of eligibility.

Choose a thriving industry

While Singapore is host to many markets, some industries are stronger than others. Historically, Singapore has been a welcoming home to finance professionals, especially those in audit and securities. While the financial job market is as strong as ever, new industries are rising quickly in the Southern Asian city. Jobs for IT workers, digital marketers and compliance specialists are surging. Demand in the fields of tech and ecommerce is also high with a huge push in hiring UI and UX designers, as well as hospitality, service, tourism and computer science. Other prevalent roles in Singapore include talent management and HR leadership.

Search Online

One of the best places to look for open positions in Singapore is online. With a multitude of web resources available to aid in your search, the following sites are some of the biggest and most used by Singapore job searchers.

Best Jobs encompasses a huge archive of job posts from many industries
Monster contains listings across every market in Singapore
Jobs.com.sg uses a single search to help finding listings on multiple sites
eFinancialCareers has job openings in Singapore’s biggest market - finance
Jobs Central includes a huge number of listings in a lot of industries
Job Street where you can create a personal profile and host your CV so employers can find you.

While it’s important to do your own research and choose the agency that’s the best fit for your industry and skills, the following have been well reviewed as trusted agencies in the city:

3C Synergy for jobs in construction, oil and gas
Aegis for jobs across industries
Career Hub Consultants for jobs in finance, tech, engineering, science and hospitality, among others
Spencer Stuart places candidates in jobs across a range of industries.

Apply for your work visa

Getting a job offer is a huge accomplishment, but doesn’t represent the final step in the hiring process. Next, you’ll need to apply for a Singapore work visa.

In order to obtain one, you’ll need a job offer, to pay a registration fee and to submit your application. You can apply for your visa online and have it processed in just 7 days.

Before you apply, it’s important to know what type of visa you’re eligible for. The common visa types are as follows:

Employment Pass for professionals earning at least 3300 Singapore Dollar (SGD)
EntrePass for entrepreneurs looking to start their business in Singapore
Personalized Employment Pass only given to high earners already holding an employment pass, but offering huge flexibility in employment terms and eligible industries
S Pass the most common visa type for typical foreign workers, provided to mid-tier professionals earning at least 2200 SGD per month, and who have passed the requisite assessment

Good luck!

As If they have bank acc like their counterparts

Spain now has more than 47,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19
Spain’s death toll from the coronavirus has surpassed the official figure from China, becoming the second highest in the world.

The number of deaths rose by 738 in 24 hours - a daily record - to 3,434, higher than the 683 announced in Italy.

By comparison, China has officially reported 3,285 deaths, while Italy – the worst affected country – has 6,820.

Spain's rate of infection has increased by a fifth and almost 27,000 people are being treated in hospital.

Madrid is the country's worst affected region but Catalonia in the north-east has seen a rapid increase in cases.

Spain's Deputy Prime Minister Carmen Calvo has tested positive for the virus, the government says. She was admitted to hospital on Sunday with respiratory symptoms.

MPs are to vote on extending the country’s state of emergency for another two weeks until 11 April. Under the rules, people are banned from leaving home except for buying essential supplies and medicines, or for work.

Globally there are 460,000 cases of the virus, with more than 20,000 deaths and more than 110,000 people having recovered, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

On Wednesday the UN said the virus was "threatening the whole of humanity" as it launched a $2bn (£1.7bn) appeal for the world's poorest people.

"Global action and solidarity are crucial. Individual country responses are not going to be enough," UN Secretary-General António Guterres said.

What’s the latest from Spain?
Figures released by the health ministry on Wednesday showed that in just 24 hours, Spain’s national death toll rose by 738. Its number of cases soared by 7,973.

These are the highest figures for Spain in a single day. The country now has 47,610 confirmed cases.

Catalonia accounts for close to 10,000 of those, while the Basque Country and Andalusia both have more than 3,000 cases. But the worst-affected region is the area around the capital Madrid, which has recorded 14,597 cases.

Joshua Opayinka, chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in one of the Western States of Nigeria has declared that churches would not stop holding services because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

He said the pandemic was an evil spirit floating around the world and would find it impossible to enter the church.

Opayinka, who spoke to the BBN Yoruba, said only the power of prayers could stop the virus from spreading.

“They cannot tell us to close worship centres because of coronavirus; cutting the head off is not the solution to a headache,” he said, stressing that God was aware of the pandemic sweeping through the world and only had the solution.

The cleric urged Christians to intensify prayers to God to bring an end to the pandemic, adding that God killed Ebola and the congregation should call Him again to kill coronavirus.

Opayinka said: “The evil spirit that travels around the world is what is called Coronavirus, anybody who brings this spirit to the church will not be able to enter the church, the spirit will not enter the church,” he declared.

The cleric said the church would abide by any instruction given by the government over coronavirus but urged it not to shutdown worship centres because only congregational worship would provide solution to the pandemic.

Good job.... Waiting for Yankee lab results too...

They actually meant to suffocate her to death to avoid the spread... RIP to her.

The story is pathetic.

The claim here is that she tested negative to covid-19,hence no clinical need for isolation.so why was she still kept in the abandoned building to the extent that she had to pass on there?
