The United States Government, today donated Six Laptop computers to the EFCC during a courtesy visit to the Commission's Headquarters in Abuja.


The Director, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, USA, Roselyn Wiase, who led the six man delegation urged the Commission to continue in its vigorous fight against Corruption."We are not unmindful of your contribution to the fight against economic and financial crimes in Nigeria.


The United States Government therefore donates this Laptops to your organization to support your Mission” she said.

There was a serious fire outbreak in Sokoto's old market on July 24 and It destroyed a number of shops/goods. State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has paid a visit to the scene. He revealed that the government plans to modernize all markets in the state so as to avoid incidences of fire as recorded in recent months. Also, his government is currently assessing the damage done to this market and will in due course announce special intervention to cushion the effect the disaster on the businessmen and women affected.

Policemen, are at the moment engaged in a gun battle with militants in Igando, area of Lagosstate.
a suburb of Lagos. It was gathered that the militants stormed the area around 4am, looting shops and shooting into the air.

The ongoing shootout, which has left three policemen injured, has caused residents of Igando, especially those around Ikejobi Avenue, Ewedogbon Bus Stop to flee their homes or hide indoors.


Two Rapid Response Squad armoured tanks are involved in the gun battle with more than 200 residents on the road with security operatives.

The Plateau State Police Command has appointed Tyopev Terna, a graduate of English from the Benue State University Markurdi as it new spoke person.ASP Terna took over from Abuh Emmanuel, who was recently promoted to the rank of a Superintended in the Nigeria Police and posted to Police “C” Division in Jos, Jos North Local Government Area of the state as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO).Until his recent appointment, Tyopev Terna served in the command as Admin Officer in Laranto Division in Jos, Plateau State.


The new Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) told journalists in his Office at the Force Headquarters shortly after resuming office that he would ensure a cordial working relationship with journalists in the state.


He thanked the journalists for the cordial relationship accorded his predecessor and pleaded with them not to hesitate to knock at hisdoor when the need arise.
