The first one was the main applicant, I selected 4 days biometric date. Though there were other close date but due to the number of family member and I submitted the application one after the other, I knew it might not be possible to get close date for all of us. By the way, we used VI.. I will advise you to choose VI...

I selected same date for others too but different time. However, we all did at the same time.

Another option, if the fund is there, you can select any available date for each member and you go for Walk-in.

We have one account in wife's name at first bank in naira currency.
We have another account in wife's name at first bank in dollar currency.
We have another account in hubby's name at access bank in naira currency.
Making a total of 3 accounts altogether, is it okay or can it cause a red flag and Visa denial. Thanks

Only the main applicant certificate shows student without scholarship while others show dependant.

I suggest priority should be selected for only the main applicant.

However, I would advise that biometric should be done at the same time/day.

So does it mean it's adviceable to do priority visa for main applicant while dependants do standard visa, since decision will be made for all same day instead of priority visa for main applicant and dependants.

Cos am planning to do a priority visa for main and dependant as well.

Lol it’s over 2weeks I uploaded my statement yet they haven’t sent my CAS. No change in my portal either. I’ve sent mails to them and I’m honestly getting fed up at this point. Sadly deposit has already been paid.

I do not think opening of account date is an issue.

I am only worried about the microfinance bank. Why not open your account in a regular bank? Such as Firstbank, GTB, FCMB....etc.

I think you can use it. Below is the information from the UK website as regards that:

investment account
Cash must be in an account that allows you immediate access.

Funds must have been acquired legally and if you were in the UK you must not have earned them when working illegally.

I used my investment account letter as one of my PoF.

The £55 is not actually for walk-in. It is melt for using TLS VI Centre service and it is per head. The Walk-in service charge is 42,000 Naira per person.

TLS Ikeja Centre will not charge you the 55 British Pounds, but only for other devices like Walk-in and the likes.

Above is the link to the booking. Put in the relevant detail and select any available date.

After getting confirmation on your email. Make payment to their account. Payment details can be found on their website.

Then write to them via email to request a change of date. State the reason for this request. Attached your payment details and passport data page.

You will get the regular auto-reply email, wait and you will get responded to.


Alternatively, upon your arrival to Nigeria, go to their office to do the manual booking.
You will likely get the result on the same day of the test or the next day.

The only way the PoF was acknowledged is by getting a copied email sent to my bank for verification.

If you did not get this, kindly send an email to the Africa Office.

Please do the test. Even if it is not required for someone in Dubai but since you will come to Nigeria, do it.


Try to book the TB test now. You will get late dates anyway. Just do a mail to the IOM, state all your circumstances, and request for a closer date. You will get a positive response.

I recently got a conditional offer which is now an unconditional but my confusion is I am currently living and working in Dubai and I intend to apply for my visa from here but my PoF will be from my Nigeria account STERLING BANK please do anyone know if one can show a PoF fund from an account in a different country I have tired reaching the UK embassy here all to no avail.

Why not write an email to them as soon as possible. State the errors with proofs and let them know the correct information to be added.

The bank statement would be verified by their West Africa Office. It is after they get a response from your bank that you will start counting about 5 working days. The mandatory questionnaire is also required to be approved before you get the CAS.

I think it would be wise to do a change of name. The verification is done basically on the names on the passport, names on the accounts and the amount.


I just don't understand what would make GTB to delay your request.
I did changed of name with the same GTB and the request reflected the next day.

As long as she goes to the bank with the required documents, I do not see any reason for delay.

The documents I am aware of are:
1. Request letter
2. Court affidavit
3. News paper publication
4. Marriage certificate
5. Maybe Utility bill, NEPA bill (not sure)

I was of the opinion that newspaper publication and affidavit for change of name to cover the fact that same person bears both name should suffice. However, she reached out to me to say the agent from the school in Sunderland says account name must be in her application name(married name) to get visa.
Has anyone experienced this and what did you do? Please advise so we can know next step as i know it takes those banks ages to even change name on account oh (even me sef…..over 1 year that I requested for such in GTB, change of name is yet to reflect on my account)

Well, it might work. I got a positive response from the IOM Nigeria upon inquiry about this.
Then, on getting to the IOM in another country, I was specifically advised not to do it with them since the visa application will not be done in that country to avoid refusal.

This is my advice, write IOM Nigeria about your complaints as regards early testing. Again, book for any date available, make a payment.

Send all this information to IOM Nigeria via email. (Attached the proof of payment, passport, reference number) and humbly request for an early date. In fact, you can put your desire date.

Just compose the message very well. You will definitely get a response after the regular auto-reply.
I did this and I was given an earlier date.

Same here, Oxford brookes have been too slow recently. The pre-cas stage was so stressful! We are still waiting for the CAS to come through. I was advised today and their excuse was that it can take up to 10 working days for the CAS to be issued. I spoke to the ISAT dept via zoom today.

Most schools accept WAEC and NECO. In fact, I used NECO for mine.
