Her email address is rk-visa21@lago.auswaertiges-amt.de. There isn't any particular format, just be very polite and I would suggest you make the email brief and straight to the point. It might be helpful to inform her that lectures have commenced (if they have) and about any deadline date you might have.

Also, quote your passport number and state in the body of your email the date of your interview and the week you are in now (e.g this is your 4th, 5th or 6th week without any response). I hope this helped.

To all the Veterans in the house, this is me saying thank you and God bless you. I picked up my visa yesterday at the German embassy.

I was interviewed on the 4th of September and I sent a reminder email to the VO (the nice Chinese looking Lady) who interviewed me on the 30th. She replied with the usual Alien issue delay and I held my peace. On the 10th of October (My fifth week running) I felt led to send a reminder email to the VO basically to find out how far and to inform her that my lectures were starting on Monday the 13th and I had several deadlines to meet up with, to God be the glory she replied me saying my visa was ready to be issue and to come with the travel insurance and all.

To all those who are waiting for the good news, my prayer for you is that your expectation shall not be cut short.
To all freshers in the house, my suggestion would be that you read as much as you can on this thread and empower yourself with the adequate knowledge you need to succeed because knowledge indeed is power.
To all those who are currently facing one challenge or the other, nothing good comes easy. Trust in God and forge ahead because all these are just ingredients to make your story sweeter.

Wish you all the very best of God in your respective careers, let's make Nigeria proud and contribute our own quota to repairing the damaged image we have in the face of the international community because I believe in the New Nigeria that we would build; Good People, Great Nation.

I was under the impression that they wanted to verify my older visas but I dont really think that is even necessary as they are both expired since 2012. I am going for my LLM (Masters degree in Law). I asked the Nigerian lady that interviewed me about the passport and she said that there was no problem as she was not the person to interview me initially but the Asian looking lady but for some reasons, they had to assist her to reduce the crowd before her so I think it was during the process of moving my documents from one office to the other that the passport was left behind but I saw all my original documents during the interview which went very well as I was very comfortable that a black lady was the V.O and some answers I gave her she was like " its okay, you musn't answer everything". I think I did fairly well as far as the interview is concerned but I dont know why I was asked to come

Don't be negative just have an open mind. From past precedence asking you to come within one week after your interview is not a good sign. However it may be that they are asking you to come over so they can return your passport back to you because keeping it back is not the usual practice of the German embassy. Just stay prayerful and positive. It will be well.

Hmm! Forgive my many questions! I have an issue with the fact that your passport was not returned, that sounds odd (stand to be corrected by the veterans in the house). Did they give you a reason why this was not returned? Also who was the VO that interviewed you and how did it go? Another question would be are you going for an Msc or a Bsc program?

Hi Esdajo, We're you told to come with a 3 months travel insurance? Are you using a sponsor or a block account and finally are you applying for a student visa or visiting visa and the likes. Your response to the questions asked may help in providing a clearer picture of what is going on.

I did not take any biographically old document, primary school certificate or even waec access card. Although the VO asked me o! Since all the people that came for the interview came along with it. I just told her I didn't have and that was it.

dmitroika: hello, good to know that you did geology at U.I. how is Prof Adeyemi(engr. geo and hydro)? He supervised my final year project in 2010. although i didnt study at U.I, but I was always at the department for one reason or the other.

With regards to admission application at freiburg, I downloaded the application form, filled it and sent it to the university's Geology department with the following documents (in certified photocopies):
Bsc transcript
Bsc certificate
CV
letter of motivation
IELTS result (not sure if this is compulsory though but definitely gives an edge)
O'level result

sent the application package through nipost and the school got it within two weeks. I think thats all. let me know if you require more info pls

Thanks a lot for the Info but I still have tons of questions (smiles). Professor Adeyemi is very fine and He is doing well, funny enough my final year project 2010 was in engineering geology too but I was supervised by Dr Oyediran (Bora)!

Anyways bk to my questions; 1. pls what do you mean by certified copies. 2. What month did you send your docs and when did they reply you? 3. About the IELTs exam: what score would be considered competitive enough 4. Do I need to contact any of the professors for potential supervision prior to been admitted.
Also, Nigeria is an english speaking country, am just wondering about the IELTS exam. Please Advise. Thanks
