Just passing by.. |
Hello beautiful people of Nairaland, A brother from another mother wishing y'll the best of lucks in getting your trv, and big congratulations for those who recently got theirs..Anyone coming to Manitoba this Fall? |
adebasket97:It should be okay. |
Gigibangs:i'll suggest he makes his dad his main sponsor regardless of his capability, the embassy want to be convinced you'll return back to the country after your study program, and for one working in an okay company who is in fact able to sponsor himself his chances of convincing the embassy of his return his pretty low. having his dad as the sponsor will be the modus operendi of creating a persuasive tie to convince the embassy of his return. by doing so he'll have to present his dad's soa and also a notarized letter of support by his dad, affirming that he'll be sponsoring him. just my opinion tho. |
Ebola:Oh that's a good improvement, I've always known that someday soon Nigeria online transaction will get to better stage. back then, i mean a couple years back online merchants were usually picky when it comes to dealing with a Nigerian card and doing online transaction was hell and a half.. |
funmi14:people do that everyday of which i'm one of, universities in Canada are more about your Transcript and major certs depending on the program you are going for. |
marksum:Cold, Toronto? brother you have no idea.. |
adebimpe1988:don't tell me Nigeria now uses credit card, the last time i checked we had only verve, visa and master debit card and the best for online purchases and business transactions for me was uba africad, which was neither credit nor debit card. |
checkyink:i think you meant for temporary resident visa(trv), you get your study permit at the border in Canada. just so you don't misunderstand things. best wishes. |
yusuf000000:http://www.aucc.ca/canadian-universities/facts-and-stats/tuition-fees-by-university/ and http://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs/ either one of those should help. |
tianadiva:if apparently you are in winnipeg(uofm) and you like it now, i'm pretty sure you'll love it during summer. the international student identity card(isic) is free down at umsu(uc), the gym membership has recently been added to your tuition, in other words free also, just so you know. you are welcome friend and do enjoy your stay. |
bpatient:I used no sop/letter of explanation. |
ThatWarriBoy:what do you mean by up-front medical? I did my medical couple days after I was asked to. I can't really be precise about what made mine fast, but then again I'll suggest you present the following along side with once you already mentioned; Attestation of birth from National Population Commission, Affidavit of support/sponsor notarized by a Notary public service, I also paid 1 year tuition and a part payment for accommodation, the receipt were attached. However, I could vividly remember back then, that someone didn't pay fees and still got his trv literally, just so know I'm not certain if really the fees payment actually did boost the process, just be sure of the authenticity of every doc you are presenting, in other words, try as much as possible to keep your docs formal in a latter headed paper and leave the rest to God, it should be a good run. |
tianadiva:the weather isn't really bad, its quite cold, but yet considered one of the warmest winter ever, last winter it got as low as -45 which made a word record, but this winter has been very moderate ranging from -1 to -20 and every once in a while -25, which still isn't bad. but then again on arriving here +10 was very cold for me, so you still need those thermal gears, but no much worries it should be a good run. safe trip. |
Snappyfingaz:Tbh, i can't really remember a single date, the most i can remember was that the whole process took 2-3 weeks and it was via online. |
hmmm, Traveling to Canada Part 7, Good Job Justwise..Season greetings to you all. |
tnuola:gabialonso and tnuola thanks, i thought as much, was just hoping i'll get something better. |
mrnilobrawn:lol..that smiley tho.. |

beelurv3: He applied on the 30thof July and biometrics was done on th 4th of AugustI would have advised he waits just a week more which would make it the 6th week after bio-metrics, to see. however, considering the the school start date which is on the 15th of September, it's very unfortunate that he might have to defer his admission to Winter term(January), reason been, because if he is to be called for medicals in the subsequent week, he will still have to wait a while for the final possible outcome.. |
atbu1983: he was notified on the 2nd of September. he didn't check his mail on time. he just checked his mail today. my broda applied on d 21st of July. he wasn't checking his status regularlyit's just 5 days interval, There's nothing to be worried about. |
beelurv3: Good evening everyone. Just joined this forum and it's really interesting. I've got a question as well. My hubby applied for Canadian study visa online and biometrics was done on the 4th of August and we haven't heard from them. School resumes on the 15th of September. Is it advisable we do a mail to CIC accra. I'd appreciate ur quick responses.you didn't mention when he applied?? |
cman4good: Good evening friends, please like how many days or weeks does it take Embassy to reply online route base on medicals or status of application.....i doubt if anyone can be certain..but be rest assured it's gonna be soon enough, no worries bro |
opni: pls I did the provisional nominee program for immigration for me and my family. we did the medicals six months ago but I've not gotten any response since. I made a call to their Ghana high commission but was told d immigration unit does not receive calls. I sent a mail too and got a system auto response. anyone with advise on what I shld do pls.i'll suggest you directly contact the www.cic.gc.ca furthermore, do a look up on the site, perhaps something got changed regarding the 1st of june regulation. |
PlayPays: Most of these Canadians don't even care, to them only high school is a necessity any further thing is just an add-on. They rather work long years after high school before deciding on going back for diploma or degree.with all protocol duly observed, 'i think' it will be far fetched for you to say the locals "don't care" about furthering their education. i agree with you that a majority of them tend to work for a long time after high school before deciding to pursue under-grad, but however the reason isn't because they don't care but rather because they have to work to be able to fund their education. moreover, you should know it is been regarded a custom that most Canadian parent only sponsor their kid's high school education alone, after which they have to work to further their education, which i will consider a downside, however, not all, but "in most cases" the locals who could eventually got over their undergraduate with just a General degree(3years) still got an edge over an international student who have a p.h.d, not 'really' because of race and ethnicity, but because, those employers out their hire with the mind set that, the locals are more Independent furthermore they have even a better work experience than the international student, as a result of the custom they find they find them selves, which is the upside. ![]() now lets do a turn table, every thing that's got a disadvantage also got an advantage a certain respect..even LSD ![]() |
