In Islamic states you dare not practice another religion else you'll be killed. Really? The all loving God kills his own children because they refuse serving him? There is no way you'll paint Islam as religion of peace and I don't blame them since the God of Christians also permitted such before. Our answers are a bit different but it shows the same thing. For me, they steal in the name of working for the people/Nigeria. The point though is that whatever name they use doesn't mean that is what drives them. The majority of muslins all over the world, including the Koran show that their deity did not command them to go on a killing spree, grabbing lands.

If the most terrible people you have met were religious, you have not met anybody yet. You don't pray to meet the likes of Mao Zedong, Stalin, Hitler or Genghis Khan. You'll immediately venerate the people you met.

Training in morals is very necessary. I am advocate for good morals but training a child in religion that sees itself as Saint and others as the enemy is what I am against. I work with children. The first thing they say when they hear about another religion is those people are bad. They will go to hell.

Every human has the tendency to be evil or good. I don't know much about Islam but from what I have seen I don't want any religion. Now about Christianity; I am born and brought up as one and I have felt and experienced power no doubt. There is more to the spiritual than physical but religion is messed up big time

If this debate is to prove any religion wrong while glorifying another, then it is pointless. Every religion have flaws and I am becoming more aware of this daily as I experience life.

The Way referred to by David in that Psalm is actually a referncef to the Law of Moses aka the National Constitution given to the State of Israel by God. In essence, what God required was that everyone in the land be trained to obey the Law of the land so that they all live as law abiding citizens in the end.

Surely, you can see how that makes sense even to your non-religious mind.

Train a child in the way he should go and when he's old he won't depart from it. That's what religion is. No reasoning. Accept what you're told and defend it. That's just a few of stuff I have issues with in the bible(justifying what's wrong) . "I believe in God, but take religion out of it." Morgan Freeman. The most terrible people I have come across with are religious. Go on a personal journey and discover God for yourself because religion was created out of human greed.

Let me give you a hint on the question you are so confused about.

The true God noticed that after the flood wicked spirits have settled in different regions on the planet and they're dragging worshipers through warfare. As the worshipers of a demon will go and enslave the worshipers of another demon. So the true God called Abraham and told him what He wanted to do with Abraham's descendants. They will serve as a unique people out of all other nations who are worshiping demons.
The true God allowed the descendants of Abraham to be enslaved in Egypt for more than 400 years until He decided to bring them back to where Abraham lived and died.
But before that this God send a warning message to all the inhabitants of Canaan by going down with two octogenarians to tell the Egyptian King (the most powerful monarch of that time) to free His people. Pharaoh felt It's a joke until he saw his people dying while the Israelites live so he unwillingly sent them away only to pursue them again with the best of his armies and all of them drowned in the red sea!

Please tell me if you hear all of these will you think of dragging anything with such a powerful God?
Note that all other Gods do fight for territories using their worshipers as soldiers but this God travelled with two feeble octogenarians and delivered millions of slaves without a military force.

Well if you ask me i will never hesitate to become a worshiper of such a God no matter what it will cost me!
But most of the inhabitants of Canaan decided to wage war against the most powerful God on planet earth. So who is wicked between the person who sent them a warning message and the one who just came killing without any reason?
Also note that the God of Abraham never asked the worshipers of demons to come and worship Him, all He asked for is the land He promised Abraham which all the inhabitants of Canaan were already aware of. The God of Abraham even warned His people that the land He is giving them has been measured so they shouldn't think of acquiring more than that.

That looks justified to you because you're a Christian. I have learnt to picture things from different perspectives and that's what I call rational thinking. There is no explanation to justify the death of those that didn't chose what they got. A child growing up, knowing nothing about a battle or claimed land will now pay for the decisions of his fathers.
