KarmaMod: There's more to the story than that tpia. It involved sheer disrespect I know nah. Just trying to be diplomatic. But some holy warriors abound on nairaland always ready to take up arms in defence of their internet heros. A leader cant be questioned- especially if he's partial to his group. Thats how we do it in Africa. j/k |

JustGood: I always suspected that Junkie was not a Nigerian and had some deep rooted bias against Nigeria and Nigerians. Anyway, I don't think the moderator should be a permanent one so that the position does not get misused. Maybe the owner of the site should assess the performance of moderators quarterly in order to ensure that moderators don't tick off members.
I like BigB1 but I can't stand his love for an unrepentant kleptomaniac like Babangida @ bolded: good idea, but its not so much about ticking off members as applying wisdom, common sense and discretion in the way you present yourself as a moderator. You cant please everybody, so make sure you have a solid reason for anything you choose to do. A reason that will hold water across the board, not only to your friends and hangers on. And when people are under pressure and need time off, I dont see why they cant give themselves a break instead of waiting till something blows up then undo the reputation they took time to build. Just my opinion. You need time off for personal matters- simply let the admin know. And try not to take everything personally as if its do or die. |

and why do some people think its cool to be anti Yoruba but not cool to be anti Igbo? Can someone explain this puzzle. Anytime there's an anti Yoruba thread some folks feel happy, but when the shoe is on the other foot, then it becomes persecution. Are Yorubas supposed to like being badmouthed? |
