if the songs are available to buy, then you dont have to look for freebies all the time, and especially not if it wont sit well with your conscience.

i used to be on napster right after they went out of business due to freebie sharing.

could barely find anything to download on the site, even with a subscription.

^^there's some shame in poverty, if the person is unable to afford some basic things they need because the money isnt there.

but i see your point.

How did you do in JAMB and which university did you eventually attend?
cant remember my score, think it was about average [ nothing spectacular], and i was admitted at oau.
Education › Re: Which Nigerian University Is The Best To Study Engineering? by tpia5: 7:40pm On Mar 05, 2012
^^no biggie.

at least i dont sound uncivilized like you.

no, i didnt choose unilag at all during jamb.

if that annoys you, suck a sour lemon.
Education › Re: Which Nigerian University Is The Best To Study Engineering? by tpia5: 5:50pm On Mar 05, 2012
^I'm starting to doubt the gokuu fellow is indeed from unilag or if he's in lagos at all.

He sounds quite bush, local and unlike anyone who ever passed though a secondary school let alone university.

There's also a huge difference between the way he posts and other unilag students/alumni.

I guess the op should find out which school he attends (in his village) and join him there.

I do hope unilag doesnt produce illiterates like gokuu.

Would be very unfortunate.

Maybe we should make our own international TV news and show our history on it.
nice idea if it doesnt get hijacked and sidetracked by tribal supremacists.

i watch history channel and rarely see much about african history, eg the Ife bronzes, on it.

i guess the general nature of african history makes discussions about the subject (history), a painful one.

besides, we'd probably just have various incorrect and misleading info imposed by shortsighted and misguided mercenaries.
Travel › Re: Disclosing A Us Born Child During The Us Visa Interview by tpia5: 2:39pm On Mar 05, 2012
a family friend used medicaid for a child's birth in 2000, went for renewal in 2001 and was refused. Two subsequent applications were turned down but they finally got a new visa in 2008. I do not know if there is a time ban but eventually you will get the visa if you keep applying.
yes, just keep applying.
Education › Re: U.s. Student Wants To Do Study Abroad In Nigeria ! by tpia5: 2:37pm On Mar 05, 2012
weird!!!

anyway, try UI since they seem to have some exchange programs with the US in place already.

some american students have been there for cultural studies.

Check out most people who have bad things to say about UNILAG, they or their relations have been declined admission at one point in time.
i doubt it.

unilag has pretty much an open door policy in admissions.

I've seriously never met anyone who said they were denied admission to unilag.

why some of you are getting sensitive about this matter is beyond me- might be due to some issues i suppose.

unilag is in lagos- duh.

i actually didnt choose unilag at all when i wrote jamb. My choices were oau, UI and UNN i think. UNN because they had so many courses, including archaeology which i was interested in at the time. Of course my chances of actually being allowed to go to UNN even if I'd been admitted, would have been pretty slim. My dad would never have agreed- too far.

“For years now I've kind of operated under an informal shopping cycle. A bit like a farmer's crop rotation system. Except, instead of wheat, maize, barley, and fallow, mine pretty much goes clothes, makeup shoes, and clothes (I don't bother with fallow). Shopping is actually very similar to farming a field. You can't keep buying the same thing, you have to have a bit of variety. Otherwise you get bored and stop enjoying yourself.”

confessions of a shopaholic

“A man will never love you or treat you as well as a store. If a man doesn’t fit, you can’t exchange him seven days later for a gorgeous cashmere sweater. . . A store can awaken a lust for things you never even knew you needed. And when your fingers first grasp those shiny, new bags…”
