Actually, in yoruba culture the lady would be considered his fiancee. I'm not saying its a good thing however. but a woman's consent isnt necessarily required before the king can make her his wife. that's why many are finding the whole thing so strange although imo its a regrettable custom. |
well, i'm out. peace of the Lord on all peaceful people here. |

oh well, i'm a Jesus freak so thank God for delivering me from the law of sin and death. |
Lol babe, no vex! I love esu myself. No human is born again without first going thru Esu.
God forbid bad thing. ![]() esu means adversary in the bible. his role is to frustrate humans in general and believers in particular. |
Babe, yes because there is nothing wrong with it. I used the Bakare as a good example beause there is a pastor named Tunde Bakare. If you ask pastor Tunde Bakare to change his name to Tunde Esusanmi he will object and tell you it is not fitting with his role as a minister of God. Bu does he know that Abubakar was an idol worshipping Priest if the Meccan tribes in time of Mohammed? I wonder if he even knew its arabic name.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Bakr have you ever met anybody called djinn or anjonu as a given name? i think that's a better example. |
most definitely there's something wrong with it, and most people would change the name. nothing wrong with that either. |
isnt bakare arabic. |
maybe the trousers are showing their butts cos you know how it is with we black women and also how it is with we black men. |
People are even named after this dude. Esutomi, Esuseyi, Esufunke etcsome people used to be dedicated to esu in the past [hence the names], but not anymore because any sane person with such a name would change it as soon as they reached the age of understanding. and a parent naming their child that is definitely weird. |
in yorubaland, calling someone eshu is one of the worst descriptions you can give a person. it means evil and is like a curse. i'm sure this description preceeded colonisation and any missionary. eshu is something people dread, not admire. its not like overseas where bad means good and calling somebody evil is seen as a compliment. |
@ topic my guess is esu is identified as satan because he's likely to be the god of death. |
