Since the keyword here is run, why dont they go jogging together afterwards.

Burn some calories before saying goodbye.
Business › Re: London Retailer Shop Adopts Hausa Language To Woo Customers by tpia5: 1:49pm On May 30, 2011
Maybe they're expecting an influx of hausa speakers @ topic.

Lord knows something has to be done about the huge educational disparities between north and southern nigeria.

Currently i think at least 80% of all visa seekers are from southern nigeria.

Just wondering.

Also, why does imole have at least three meanings in yoruba, albeit different intonations, and all relating to religion.

Imole also means orisa worship, or revelation.

And in case mandingo or darapture wants to start sniffing something, dont even get me started on their own.
Politics › Re: Why Do Most Nigerians Shout When They Speak? by tpia5: 2:56am On May 30, 2011
There was a time i was waiting for someone at the train station and i stood beside some non-nigerian africans. Oh my ears saw wen that day.

Jumping, shouting, singing (i presume).

I moved away cos i dont know if they were planning to eat me or something. They followed me to where i moved away to, and at that point i was seriously considering my options- whether to move further down or just tackle them if need be.

True story.

Now, having said that, and ignoring ibime and jakumo's attempts at race baiting, i've been somewhere before with a nigerian lady who was raining curses, invectives and vituperations on somebody over the phone. The AAs on that bus must have wondered whats up.

does imole have another meaning besides that, because i just read something about african brazilian muslims being called male, or imale.

just curious.

I'm not really sure what our priorities are in nigeria.

When did this inagaural ball thingy start cos this is the first time i'm hearing of one, in nigeria.

Eerie, to say the least.

Sometimes its better if things re kept low key, imo.

Do we really need to see a kiss? huh

I just saw the photos where their oversmilings almost blacked out the sun.

Yes, we get whatever message is intended. No need to copy obama point for point.

Education › Re: Is It A Sin To Be Intelligent? by tpia5: 7:45pm On May 29, 2011
people who are good at maths and science arent necessarily good with english.

even indians and asians can have the same problem.

i assume the poster is sure of what he says since you cant fake or imagine being good in the courses he mentioned, all things being equal.

Education › Re: Is It A Sin To Be Intelligent? by tpia5: 7:15pm On May 29, 2011
also, face your studies in the meantime and get to where you want to be without worrying about others too much. Everybody has different "head" (ori) as they say in yorubaland.
Education › Re: Is It A Sin To Be Intelligent? by tpia5: 7:14pm On May 29, 2011
tone it down a notch @ poster.

Human beings generally despise intelligence
true, but at the same time intelligent people can be book smart and life foolish.

it's possible the op has inadverdently offended someone without knowing it.

i'd say try to keep a low profile and stop helping people so much.

and dont try to be a friend to everybody, or expect everyone to like you because of your good intentions.

it simply doesnt work that way.
Romance › Re: Why Are Ugly Guys To Attractive To Preety Girls? by tpia5: 7:01pm On May 29, 2011
in many parts of nigeria, ugly guys get all the goodies.

-they tend to rise in political and financial circles

-they marry and date stunning women

-they're where it's at.

dont ask me why cos i dont know.

Kabukabu can you shut up there.

No need to start insulting people anyhow.

Yes, the man was wrong for beating her but at the same the matter needs to be investigated further.

Do you have a problem with that abi iranu dey worry you.

And yes, this matter needs to be settled outside the public eye before it escalates still further.
