Iyin2017: Hello gurus in the house,
I arrived in Canada in January 2022, we applied for a visiting visa for my husband and daughter in January but this was refused in February.
Another application for Open Work Permit and visiting visa was submitted in February, we noticed eligibility started today for the OWP but the Visiting visa for my daughter was denied today with reason - ''the purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application''. My daughter will be 5 in December. Do we need to apply for a study visa for her?
I must also add that we submitted a Visiting Visa application in June for my husband and daughter because he will be on vacation in August, the visiting visas application are still active.
Thank you Good day, I think while applying for your study permit you indicated that no one will be accompanying you to Canada and seeing that after you arrived Canada in January, your family applied to join you. So the bolder seems to be the problem but the good news is there are people who have gotten their family visas even after indicating that no one will accompany them. Order their GCMS notes to know the issue. Cheers |

Wow… GCKEY applications are getting approved in less than 6 weeks.
My advice to anyone planning to apply is to use GCKEY, new portal is not that fast again. |

boxymccoy: Good day everyone....... Pls I sincerely need your input here...... I got an undergraduate admission in university of Manitoba, University 1 category.... These are my questions. 1) Do I need to pay deposit before applying for Visa? 2) How much must I have in my account before applying? 3) Can I use someone that has like 10 million in his account as my sponsor? Will I stand a chance? I'm really confuse right now..... Pls advise a brother 1)It will be stated on your admission letter if you need to make a tuition deposit or not. If it is not stated then you don’t necessarily need to pay tuition deposit before applying. However, paying parrot full tuition at times show commitment but it is not a must. 2) To stand a good chance of getting your study permit approved, you need to have: Tuition fee (for the whole years you’ll be studying) Living expenses (for the whole years you’ll be studying) Miscellaneous (about 2000 - 6000 CAD). 10 million naira is about 31k CAD so check it with what I wrote above. Ps: I’m not saying with lesser funds you will not be granted, I’m just giving you facts that will help eliminate doubts. 3)10 million naira is about 31k CAD so check it with what I wrote above. You can use anyone as your sponsor just be ready to prove your relationship with him/her and possibly provide evidence of former sponsorships by the said sponsor. All I’m saying is you need to convince the VO that the sponsor is not just a random person. With these you are good to go. All the best |

JoanChinaza: Please someone should please reply at least one of my questions
Please my husband has an already existing account which he uses for little transactions, and it's the same account he plans to use for my POF, the account hasn't had upto a million naira in it in the past 3 months, if by end of this month the POF is complete can we use it and apply for the study permit or we have to wait for the account to hold huge amount for at least 3 months before applying? If your husband can provide PROPER DOCUMENTATION of the lump sum that entered his account to complete the POF then you can apply without waiting for 3 months. N/B: 1)I’m assuming your husband is expecting a huge sum of money in the account by end of this month 2) it is always advisable to have more than the required POF in your account. |

Arlanda: I greet everybody
I was refused a study permit today. First time applicant and I applied in Europe.
The reasons they gave for the refusal are:
I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph R216(1)(b) of the section-216.html).
I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• Your immigration status outside your country of nationality or habitual residence.
• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application. • Your current employment situation does not show that you are financially established in your country of residence.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements.
Please, I need advice on how to tackle these concerns next time. You’ll eliminate 70% of this refusal reason if you come back to Nigeria and apply. My opinion though. |

I had a refusal like this because I applied from a place I had temporary residency status in. My GCMS note showed that lesser value was accorded to my home ties because I didn’t apply from Nigeria. So I think you should think of coming back home and reapplying unless you can proof overwhelmingly strong ties in Nigeria and answer the question of what are you doing in Turkey that’s why the limited employment prospects issue. You have a good profile, your next application will be an approval. MightyRance: Good day gurus.
My Study permit has just been denied. |

ShowYoung: The hypothesis is our criminal tendency. Candidly, you'll be surprised by the number of people who submitted fake documents, fake bank account etc.
So, they are taking their time to cross-check, confirm and ensure every documents are genuine. The rate is higher here. It happens with Indians, Philippinos etc too, but it's on the high side here.
Why can't IRCC trust us if we say we have WAEC Cert? Why can't they trust us if we say we are married or not? The time it takes to verify this information makes our processing time longer than others. This is why they classify us as "DIRTY FIFTY"-- a combination of countries where dangerous and criminal-looking applications do come from.
We need to change our ways.
I pray that any negative report concerning us shall be erased in Jesus name. Amen! This is so bad. Thousands of genuine applications also come from here. I see people who are supposed to resume this month still waiting for ppr. One week now no ppr. No naw |

Does anyone have any hypothesis as to why the scanty ppr this past few days? I can’t seem to understand why no approval or even decline for the past few days. Indians and Pakistanis are seeing ppr’s every day. |

Toceen2022: This thing is not hard, just relax and follow the instructions. Last 10 years is 2012 - 2022. If you were in school within that 10 year period and you've already stated that when filling the education period, you will not include it in the working period.
Better still, list what you've been doing from 2012 - 2022 here, lemme explain how you'll fix them in. Thanks for the help. I have attached a picture of my education and how I presented the work/activity. Let me know what I must do to finish this stage. Ps: have been a student all my life

Scott99tish: You can clearly read the Error. Portal didn’t stop working.
Just follow the instructionz. Do not leave any period out of the 10 years asked. If you’re jobless for some month/year, state it Thank you for your response sir. However I’ve tried everything, I have updated work/activity from 2011 till date with no gaps but still same error message. I have been a student all my life, I just finished my BSC and I’m going for my masters immediately. So I chose unemployed from 2011 till date but it’s still same error. Don’t know what to do now. |

NorthernshoreTS: The new portal doesn't like any gaps when highlighting your employment history. Make sure to account for all the years specified. So for example, if you were unemployed between August 2010 to Feb 2011, indicate "unemployed". You can reach to me if you have any further questions. I have sent you an email please check. |

ami213: You don’t need to order GCMS notes for this. I guess the V.O didn’t see your supporting documents because they were not properly arranged. My spouse application was refused based on the following reasons as well. We didn’t know about Nairaland as at that time, so we submitted SOP, LOA, passport information page, POF and Tuition receipt.
We thought IRCC would contact us for more information/documents. English Breakfast was served instead. Lol!
What we did differently in the new Application was that we loaded IRCC with relevant supporting documents, a detailed SOP, Table of contents based on Nairalander suggestions.
When you are reapplying, make sure your documents are well arranged. All the best in your next application! It’s so frustrating that one will spend a lot of money for an application and the VO won’t check the Letter of explanation where I attached more than 25 supporting documents. It won’t be easy for me to reapply without getting the GCMS notes because I can’t think of any document I didn’t include or what I could have done differently. I need to know his reasons. Thanks for your kind words, I really appreciate ) |

Please is there anyone here that can help with getting GCMS note?
And what does this really mean, I explained that my visa was extended even after graduation that’s why I decided to apply from the country I’m currently in.
Also, I just graduated in August, what do they mean by current employment situation?
