I have no problem with remembering the song itself but knowing every word to a song that had stopped trending before you turned 10 is pretty difficult to memorise or even see the need to. Akon’s don’t matter was 2006, by 2009 Akon had better hits that made Don’t matter fade pretty fast. I don’t see myself going back to memorise the words of some of Don Williams music (I might know the chorus and a few lines but not the entire thing) even though my dad played them till I grew up and left home.

I mean, I know the song is not that old. She must have been 6 when it came out, but I don’t remember the song reigning for more than 2-3 years. It certainly didn’t make it past 4 years and it was already forgotten. It’s like expecting Niyi to remember 1993’s Ice Cube’s Bop Gun in 2008.

I have seen 13-14 with a baby on their backs, it's not unusual to them, especially the riverine areas of Akwa Ibom State.
