Samakus: Ukwulu community in Dunukofia LGA of Anambra State have cried out over the continued destruction of their farmlands and crops by cattles of Fulani herdsmen.
frank417: Honestly, you are in my head. Thought it deeply but I do not know if I will be able to carry out such a project. I have inadequate knowledge on how these things work.
And again, the fact that Ubbersuggest says it receives just 55 people/month, it is discouraging me. And it doesn't even show in Alexa rankings.
meetme01: Boss I have something like that. I outband and still no response. I thought of something like that. How can you be of help. Mine is Texas/truck/drivers/king.
Hmmmm. The greatest part of your final decision will depend on if you are in a hurry or not.
Personally, I think you have just hit pay dirt, but just don't know it yet. Probably because almost all the advice I am seeing here tells you to sell and move on. But the question is, do you NEED any amount of money now, or can you wait for at least 1 year, to work on seeing if you can make recurrent income from it.
I know IdeasPro is very qualified to help you look at the name from a long term perspective (which is the ONLY way I am looking at that name). One idea though came to my mind. There are many truck service companies in Mesa Arizona, and I believe everyone of them need exposure.
Turn this to a directory site. Something like a mini Yellowpages, but laser targeted to listing just truck service businesses in Mesa Arizona. Make the listings based on monthly subscriptions. You can even charge more for those that want to have a featured listing with banners
DO NOT SELL THIS IN A HURRY. My 2 cents though.
PS:
Meanwhile, the way you have plastered this name here will make Google index it in no time. I hope it won't be a con. Disguise the name with /// *** in between and tell all that quoted your post where the name and search term appeared in full to edit it.
Buchika: Hello all the bosses of this thread, after following this thread for months, I registered 4 names I picked from ED: jacksonvillecleaners/king, wichitafallsrentals/king, austintaxservices/king, sandiegotowtruck/king.
Are these names good enough for a newbie to start out bounding?
I wish I started as well as you did. You definitely STUDIED well.
thorrvik55: The one u should ask for when u get there is International High Naira africard. Some of those bank staffs are not well versed on the different types of africards so try and confirm that's the one they gave u b4 u leave the bank.
Bonatheripper: Yes I have K legs although it isn't visible that much.
I have lots of confidence which tends to help me but then when someone tells me I have those scissors legs my confidence drops to 0 then climbs back gradually ones I get angry and make love to a new girl.
It's really annoying.
I can't help but admire those with straight legs... They don't know how lucky they're.
I yen for straight legs. I know ones I have enough money I'll travel out and perform osteonomy to correct the genu valgrum... Yes I know all about K leg.
Ok... I syked a girl in the night and god willing she wasn't that hard to get.
She slept over on Tuesday so in the morning I was up trying to put on th Tv.
She was like jeeez. Babe you have K legs... Walk let me see
I felt depressed immediately.
Even when I'm on skinny jeans I feel someone is laughing at my K small legs.
I won't complain if it was Bow arrow legs.... Bow legs don't make your whole body look out of shape like K LEGS...
When I was in secondary school K legs where my biggest insecurities... I didn't approach any girl or have a girlfriend because I felt she won't like my K legs... Yes they actually don't like K legs.
How tiring to have K legs.
Oh I hate K legs.
I've done numerous times to exercise to fix the K legs but the K legs won't fix
How hard is it to get fix? Why won't my K legs fix after much exercise.
I can't where shorts because people will say I walk like a horse or a broken table.
What's all this?
K legs is killing me... I swear I'll have a surgery done because I feel after the K legs heal to normal I'll feel more at ease... Jeeeez I think of it all day long.
I hate K legs I just dislike it... I know everyone with K legs in my street.
Mccainreal: There is always a story. even if a name is choosen because of how it sounds, thats still a story.
meanwhile far back 1935, in Stari Kodaky(ukarine), the kodak fotress was built.
Kodak photography company was named in 1907.
Either way, if a name is meaningless, the brand will give it a meaning. when Kodak is mentioned, na picture naim dey come ur mind nor be fotress
It's like you enjoy going off point.
What was my argument? You said Xerox was meaningless.
I said, no it's not. Simple.
Then I said Kodak was meaningless.
And you went on to say 3 unrelated things in one breath.
1. a brand will give meaning to a meaningless name
2. Kodak the photo company was founded in 1907
3. One Kodak fortress was built in Ukraine in 1935.
How does all these relate to our argument.....that Xerox wasn't meaningless, and that Kodak was meaningless.
From your picture, (it could not resemble anything and cannot be associated with anything else) is very much equal to MEANINGLESS.
Stick to the point. I told you earlier, if you want to give an example of a meaningless brand name, do not use Xerox. Stick to the SPECIFIC points I raised. Say things that are verifiable facts.
Mccainreal: No name falls from the sky, never insinuated that.
There is always a story behind a name.
Its a bussiness/service that will give meaning to some names especially when the word cannot easily be deciphered. This is the point i was trying to make.
themccainreal: This is an Invented name. The company will give it a meaning and recognition.
whats the meaning of Xerox? Photocopying machine company for that matter
But now, you dont question its meaning again, when you see the name, Photocopiers will come to your mind
You made a direct reference to Xerox as a brand name that was simply made up, which is not true. You can use another company as an example but not Xerox. It was formed from the word Xerography.
By the way, some names are absolutely meaningless. Some names have no "story" behind them. Example is Kodak.
Koats14: I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that I had requested since April 22nd, and till now, it's still pending. I guess it isn't normal for domain reviews to take that long, or is it?
greatdesire: Name submitted on SH for some days now is still on pending.
Also, the pre-approved is still yet to be registered despite the chat with their CS unit.
Who is also experiencing this?
This precious time you are wasting on checking an already submitted/pre-approved name, I advise you to channel it towards finding more names to submit.
virtuedagirl: I love the name and I see a lot of name like this selling on SH. That's branding, with this the buyer can create their own brand as it very unique
Exactly. Some contest holders will even request that names must not appear on Google search, because they don't want any competition with the name. They want only their company to appear when people search for the name.
themccainreal: This is an Invented name. The company will give it a meaning and recognition.
whats the meaning of Xerox? Photocopying machine company for that matter
But now, you dont question its meaning again, when you see the name, Photocopiers will come to your mind
Uber nko ?
I once submitted a name to an SH contest, Uppcadotcom, the contest holder shorlisted the name, bros con ask me what it means?
Till date, he is still waiting for the answer. I wasnt ready to crack my head at that time
I have about 21names I havent classified or described. Its difficult to come up with description of some names
Some of these names are not meaningless. You think Xerox fell from the sky?
****************†**********"
The company was founded in 1906 as the Haloid Company, a manufacturer and distributor of photographic paper. In 1947 the firm obtained the commercial rights to xerography, an imaging process invented by Chester Carlson
Renamed the Haloid Xerox Company in 1958, the company introduced the 914 xerographic copier in 1959. The process, which made photographic copies onto plain, uncoated paper, had been known for some time, but this was its first commercial application.
The product brought so much success and name recognition that the company has waged a continuing campaign to prevent the trademark Xerox from becoming a generic term. The company changed its name to Xerox Corporation in 1961. **********"*****************
Let's research more. It appears to me now that we mostly make assumptious conclusions here.
I feel you bro. But the problem is that most of us generally see brandables through the lenses of English language.
The companies that buy these "weird" names may not even be in an English speaking area. Evoomi may even contain root word(s) from another language that perfectly fit into that company's ideas.
We keep moving sha.
PS: I have said this before But I will add. Most of us look at only 2 areas on SH when trying to get ideas for names to submit - New Arrivals and Recently Sold. We forget a third, which "MAY" even be more directional than the first two - Contest Holder's Descriptions of what they want.
ikhalyfah: Honestly I'm still trying to grasp the marketplace. The fact is they are not consistent. Last month i had 29accepted, Last 2weeks i had 12 accepted, last week 7, and dis week ZERO, u can see their inconsistency. If it's about mastering, i believe i should be improving rather than decreasing. But they are not consistent.
Nonetheless, all i can say is study their keywords, and focus on 2compound words, if at all u want to see acceptance. Forget madeUp and blend
Chief, let's stop advising people out of our own "failures." We are all different. What's difficult for you may be smooth ride for others. Encourage people to try out the different name compositions available, in order to discover where their strength lies.
That you find blends/made up names hard to grasp doesn't mean others will. Some may be more successful with those than with compound names.
Truth4eva: Please help! I have CBDclue.com. A potential buyer wanted the name at Sedo for $200 as his final offer, but I quoted $250. I believe the name is worth more than $200. What do you think?
Wait oo. You believe the name is worth more than $200 and the "more" you meant is just $50? Chai.
Kyom20: U clearly didnt read her story. Who did she say finally changed her for good?
If God were to punish you every single time you made a mistake, where you be? He gives u room to make errors and forgives u wen u go wrong. If he wanted to be strict he could have killed u straight up wen u go wrong.
The lesson you should take from this is that when correcting someone do it in love.
I drank alcohol like crazy, smoked weed, hung out with rich boys, partying, doing drugs but when I go visit my Parents, I still act like that innocent girl they have always known.
And you decided to leave out all the prostitution you did?
Kyom20: I can totally relate to this. Nigerian parents often make the mistake of trying to force or suppress their kids to be a certain way so as to avoid them making "mistakes". What they fail to realise is making mistakes and learning is part of life.
This then leads to rebellion because often times these children want to have these experiences for themselves. Its just human nature. What i feel is important for children in this situation to understand is that everything should be done in moderation because at the end of the day its still your life, and you would suffer most the consequences of your actions.
@ op, you are normal and i hope you learn from your parents mistakes when training your own kids.
Modified I really feel the need to add that people on this forum are very judgemental without even understanding where the poster is coming from. Did any one read her story at all? Her dad was very strict which led to her having to pretend when at home while being a totally different person when out of the house. Can we really say that is a good thing? Or have we never seen this happen in our society? Do we not see that this parenting skill breeds hypocrisy?
Some are even going as far as judging her. That makes no sense, so many people are mistaking strict parents for disciplinarians. The one thing we need to understand is that strictness often results in rebellion which often shows up on in our society as hypocrisy.
The reason why so many Nigerians are quick to judge but what they do in the secret is most disgusting.
And you are not judgmental? You believe her story, one-sided, without hearing from the father.
To me, the exact thing the father was trying to prevent her from becoming was the exact thing her mother helped her become.
