I once read on NP that if buyer no accept domain transfer/push, Afternic no go release payment to seller. I once experienced delay in a sale on Afternic, though they attributed that one to fund verification.

Yes, but domain with website or blog making at least $100 per month consistently can be predicted. Edwin John, the author of "How I Sell My Domain Names" which I bought over a decade ago explained it perfectly well.

The policy is not a sudden one, its not just because of names I have lost. I previously benchmarked it at 200names, now I am at 148 SH owned.

Will most likely stop at 150. Its part of the tweaking I talked about.

As to the 75names, it depends on the quality of the names. A $300 name can easily be sold for $600(quick flip) or more but a $8 name might not be easy to offload for $100

It all depends on Your strategy & what you want.

There are times i have a financial need, I look at how many BB names I can Offload to achieve that target. I stopped doing this when reported sales on the slack channel was on the increase one time[b](names that were sold off to domainers & got sold within a short frame)[/b]

I am currently doing some experiment now, will see how it pans out

@ bolded. I once auctioned a name on NP for cheap, which later sold almost 4 figures for the buyer. He later gave me some percentage sha, which he promised when he bought it. And he simply listed it on DAN where the sale took place.

Personally for me, if i start making money in domaining, I'll rely on Auctions and closeouts. I find sorting out deleted not only stressful but missed of opportunities to make it.

90% of Reported Sales on Namepros since i started monitoring it are mainly domains gotten from Auctions and closeouts.

I can personally attest to recently reported sales on NP. I saw IgniteChimp on closeouts - Pending Delete. People like me are waiting for it to be deleted while Deep pocketers don't waste time. The guy snapped the name, submitted to SH and i saw the update on Recently sold.

For now, I'll focus my plan to make money first and advance to those type of people cuz i believe many of them started that way.

Not having Quantity with less quality but having Quality while building quality portfolios with patience.

Someone said its best you buy 2 names $300 each=$600 & pay renewal fee of $16($8 each)

Than register 75names for $600($8 each) and have renewal fee of $600.(75 × $8 )

I support this. Thats why I reduce the registrations I do & lean more on SH registration.

I plan to focus on backordering names & closeouts now. You more quality names this way, though more pricey

75 names have a GREATER probability of selling some, than the other 2.

Since we are talking in terms of numbers/figures, PERSONALLY I will use that money to buy 75 names than buy just 2 names.

It is surprising you suddenly changed your policy based on just one "missed" sale. I hope it's not spurred by a dry spell. Dry spells do happen even to the best domainers.

Anyway, to each his own.

There are many ways to look at this.

1. His reply might just be a subtle way of telling you to fvck off with your domain

2. He might be ignorant of the value of the domain or don't know how to use it. Based on his reply, he might be thinking along the line that he had o replace his domain, which is generic and has a broad reach for a domain name that is very limited.

3. He might be interested but looking for a way to reduce the price

Solutions to:

1 >>> Find new leads to pitch to.

2 >>> Let him know he doesn't have to change his domain name to that of yours. All he just has to do is setup the domain name to redirect to his main website (if it generates any significant traffic) or build a website on your domain name and have it redirected to his main website (bannerindustries/king) to fetch targeted traffic. You can also tell him it's a good promotional name for marketing campaigns and improving click through rates.

The problem, however, is if the sales from their Dallas region is quite low compared to other regions, he might not be convinced of the potential, thinking it's just a bad investment with a negative or insignificant ROI.

3. Just send him a discount offer

Try to find which one is the problem and find a way to keep the communication open....
