Before there was United to Houston (no more now though) and Delta to Atlanta, that both fly direct to US, we've had to fly through Europe to get to Lagos. I have flown BA, Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, Iberia. On all of them, the flight between US and their respective Home Hub is super! The flight to Lagos is always a totally different story. From the Old aircraft they use, to the food, the service itself...pretty much everything. Period! Of course, the flight between US and their home country is usually at least 98% white, while the flight to Lagos is the exact opposite. Bottom line, they treat us differently. Each of them probably have their reasons for this, but that's just the way it is.
Seems there is no regulation guiding this. Quite a pity

Michoolu:
Tail strike? What's that
In aviation, a tailstrike is an event in which the rear empennage of an aircraft strikes the runway. This can happen during takeoff of a fixed-wing aircraft if the pilot pulls up too rapidly, leading to the rear end of the fuselage touching the runway.

The quality of the airplane and services onboard are highly influenced by the region. Anything originating from Africa is old and poorly maintained. Unless it's an African airline.
I heard this too. Do you have a personal experience? Kindly share

Research also shows you can get cheaper tickets if you book very early ahead of travel date (weeks/months). Also, weekends attracts higher prices.
Better book Tuesdays to Thursdays if you can.

I doubt if there is a country where Emirates doesn't go, though I boarded the flight from Nigeria (origin) to Dubai (destination), that is the airlines' parent country.

I boarded Egyptair and Ethiopian Airlines to India. (On different occasions).

Egyptair has a stop over at Cairo, while Ethiopian Airlines stops over at Addis Ababa, both originating from Nigeria and final destinations being Mumbai.

I have also travelled from India to other countries but I doubt if you will understand those routes, somehow difficult to explain here.
I asked cos I heard that with some airlines, the quality of service depends on the route. I don't know how true this is though.

Flown on Emirates, very expensive (though fare not on my bill). Boarded the bastard airline just twice (return ticket).

Onboard services and refreshments very good, but who that one epp?

Ethiopian Airlines, moderate. But on connected flights, they will abandon you at Addis Ababa even if waiting time is more than 24hrs. Idiots.

Egyptair, cheapest as far as I'm concerned. Moderate onboard services and refreshments. On connected flight, even if waiting time is less than 16 hrs in Cairo, they will take you to a 4-star hotel (better than naija 5-star hotels), Breakfast and lunch on their bills.

On the bases of the cost & services, I think egyptair is the best.

My opinion though, based on my limited experience of international flights.
Which routes were these flights (origin and destinations)

Hey folks. I truly love the travel section here. I have read stuffs from visa applications, interviews, POE experiences to vacation experiences etc., but never really found threads solely dedicated to people's international flight experiences.

So let's have it folks. Share your experiences with any airlines you've ever travelled with internationally - booking, in-flight entertainment (food, drinks, comfort, movies, restroom, etc), cabin crew/hostesses, stopover/layover (hotel), general customer service, outbound/connecting flight delays, flight cancellations (by you or them), luggages (checking in, missing, delayed, retrieval), ANY experience you had in connection with any airline be it before boarding, in-flight, during stopovers, or at the end of the journey.

I am yet to have an international flight experience but I know a lot of you here have so much to share to guide those of us that will be getting our first experiences soon.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are starting yet another beautiful building project for a Nairalander this morning, the details of the project are as follows;

Project: Construction of a new 6 bedroom duplex
Client: A Nairalander
Contractor: Tigerkenn Homes Ltd
Project duration: 120 days
Budget: To be revealed later

Stay with us as we bring you all the daily construction details from this site
Great work!

Looking at the ground floor plan, there seem not to be a connecting door between the kitchen and the dinning. Was this on purpose? Cos I think going from the kitchen to the dinning through the lobby, ante room and main lounge isn't ideal.

I desired some crunchiness with my rice , so instead of adding the carrots while cooking the rice, I diced it and simply added to my white rice and chicken red vegetable stew.

Oh sorry, the Hollandia Yoghurt was out of focus.

Dedicating a product of fornication is one sure way to support and encourage fornication and before you know it other defaulters would expect the same nice treatment

So dedicating a product of fornication doesn't mean anything to you? my dear leave the issue of love. What is wrong is wrong and what has to be done has to be done. It is what it is. Love and forgiveness are not enough reason for one not to serve certain punishment so as to serve as a deterrent to others
See this virgin.

Livie2016:
Hello,

Would really appreciate some words of advice please. I'm really sad. No judgmental posts posse.

I conceived my first child when I was dating my boyfriend, now husband and then we got married shortly after I fell pregnant. We had planned to get married even before I got pregnant but when I got pregnant, we then decided to bring the date forward. It was a very difficult period for me because my mum really made me feel bad. I repented to God from a heart of genuine sincerity and sought his forgiveness which I received by his grace. I fell short of the glory of God but God forgave me and had mercy on me.

Fast forward to a year plus after my wedding. My son is now 6 months and we would like to dedicate him in church. We have however been told that the church will not accept him for the regular dedication process where the parents dance out to the front of the church alongside close relatives and friends. What the church has said is that we can only do a private dedication service in a different room after the service. I'm devastated.

My son is innocent and pure. He was conceived from a sinful act but God has forgiven us. I've now been happily married to my husband and father of my child for more than a year. Is it therefore fair for the church to treat my son like he's an outcast and not worthy of being celebrated openly and publicly?

I feel so humiliated and wanted to cancel the dedication and do it in a church where h will be openly celebrated and received as a wonderful gift from God which my darling son is. My husband has accepted it but I'm struggling to do so. The church is supposed to be about love. What is the biblical basis for saying that my son cannot be pubclily dedicated?

Would really like some views here. Should I cancel the dedication and do it somewhere else or go ahead with the private/ secret dedication?

Many thanks for reading.
Let me ask, if you go to another church, will you tell the pastor that you had sex and got pregnant before marriage?

Nobody is subjecting this child to anything. You are pained bc you have been denied the opportunity to do your own public show and nyanga. Fall in line or fall out.

Move on
