Corps (NYSC) – Batch C 2014 – will be going for
camping from November 4, 2014. What and what
should you take to Camp? Do you really need most
of the things you've packed into your big leather
box already? Here's a checklist of what we think an
'Otondoh' like you is like to need...
Camp Items

You won't be allowed into camp premises without
any of them. Go there with about 10 passports & 5
document photocopies each

* You will be provided with 2 pairs of white T-shirts
and shorts in camp but you can take up to 2 pairs
along.
* Colored panties will be too conspicuous under the
white tops and bottoms.
* You can take a 2 - 3 sets of casual wears/mufti for
Sunday and camp fire night.
* 1 pair of shoe and socks is okay. It is good to have
a white rubber shoe that is easy to clean (sold at
camp also)

If you have an internet-enabled camera phone, do
take it along. Camp life can be very boring without
one. You will like to take pictures and share with
your friends. You only need to be very vigilant and
protective of your things. If you feel you need a
bulletproof vest or helmet, please carry it. You know
what we mean, don't you?
55. MONEY, MONEY, AND MORE MONEY.
* Never, ever, ever run out of it. Bring as much as
you can afford.
* Mirrors and forks are known to be contraband
items in camp
* Prices of items apart from fast consumer goods
(Credit, Gala, Indomie etc) are usually higher than
those outside so it is advisable you buy the things
you can before going into camp.
PACK AS LIGHT AS YOU CAN AND MAKE SURE YOUR
BOX IS AS THEFT-PROOF AS POSSIBLE.

navistar: Lol.. you can snap and print 20passports in a short span of 20mins, dedicate the rest of the day to purchase all your white shorts,shirts and shoes. Another day for the remaining items like buckets, flash light,power bank, provisions,toiletries etc. I applaud your prudence!! M definitely a last minute somebody "call me lazy"

SUMMARY: two days is more than enough to get your house in order for nysc-camp prep.

It‘s my birthday, and I thank God for who and what I am today. I look back on the journey so far and I know it‘s been God all along.

Sometimes, I think we take life for granted. We waste time doing unnecessary stuffs, words saying things that never count while leaving unsaid those very things that matter, friendships, talents, etc. It‘s plain selfish to waste these, when there are people fighting tooth and nail, struggling for their lives just to enjoy what we have.

I am thankful for the special and loving people around me; for the past, the present and the future.

Taiye4Christ: So true. Well, I pride myself to be very prudent when it comes to money (maybe by reason of my training as an economist ), so that, in itself, isn‘t be a problem. But I‘ve got my eyes on bigger bargains sha. One or two business ideas dancing in my head. For now, I‘ll wait and see where I am posted to. When I get there, I‘ll study the economic terrain there and work something out. One thing is certain: no idling away this one year of my life.
