Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan, have cast their votes at ward 13, polling unit 39 in Otuoke, Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State, Legit.ng can report.

The former president and his wife voted at about 11:30am on Saturday, November 16.

After casting their votes, Jonathan addressed the media, expressing his displeasure at the electoral process.

[A man was found dead inside his car in the early hours of today, at no 6 Ogunsola street, off Abiola way, along OGD estate, Abeokuta, Ogun state. .

The deceased, said to be a driver, was later identified as Aremu Peter aka Adura, by his Union members. .

A plate of goat meat was found inside the car and the front passenger seat was tilted to the back, making many assume he likely died while having sexual intercourse.

However, the blood coming out from his nose and mouth led to food poisoning suspicion. The corpse of the deceased has since been evacuated.

Thugs just attacked the polling unit where Dino Melaye voted.

The hoodlums who came in black hillux van and Honda Civic saloon car broke one of the boxes and carted away the other, shooting into the air.

Those who were yet to vote scamper for safety as the thugs arrived the unit.

Information had gotten to the unit that the thugs have attacked the town hall polling unit and carted away the ballot boxes.

Both Journalists and Election observers also scampered for safety.

The bus driver has been rushed to the nearest hospital after sustaining injury.

First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday hosted a special prayer session for the nation at the old Banquet Hall of State House, Abuja.

A statement by the Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity) (office of the First Lady), Aliyu Abdullahi, said the event reviewed the importance of supplication for the nation’s guidance and development and was attended by Islamic Scholars from across the nation.

Mrs. Buhari, in her address, harped on the importance of worship, which she said “is the highway through which our requests and innermost desires are achieved”.
She reminded participants that “Islam has outlined responsibilities to our creator, our societies, our close and extended families and our neighbours and we must carry out these responsibilities to the best of our abilities.”

Speaking on the responsibilities of heads of households, she charged men to adhere to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and be responsible to their families through love, care and provision.

She said this will spread horizontally across the society and vertically across generations, insisting that this can address the multiple societal ills that are bedeviling the nation; such includes rampant drug abuse particularly amongst women and youth, corruption in high and small places both in public and private sectors, and violent crimes.

She also called for the Muslim Ummah to promote the spirit of tolerance, love, harmony, and peaceful coexistence among the people of different faiths in the nation.

Chairman of the occasion and Secretary General of Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, said Nigeria has been caught at crossroads.

He said the tradition of corruption has nearly brought the nation to its knees, but for the intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He called on Nigerians to be better people in all spheres of life if the country was to attain its expected greatness.

Scholars delivered speeches on issues of faith & practice, corruption, drug abuse, security, entrepreneurship and the emerging trend of child abduction.

Highlight of the occasion was a session of special prayers for the nation and its leaders conducted by a team of renowned Islamic Scholars present at the event.

The event was attended by the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari; Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu; former Governor of Nasarawa state, Sen. Tanko Almakura, other distinguished Senators, Wives of Governors & former Governors and other dignitaries.

TWO stunning models claim they have been banned from attending baseball matches after flashing their boobs during a game.

The Washington Nationals were hosting the Houston Astros, with the fixture being broadcast live on Fox Sports.

But as the camera panned around during a break in play, two women in the crowd lifted their tops to reveal their breasts.

And after the clip was shared on social media, the two women involved have outed themselves as the ‘offenders’.

Stunning model and magazine editor Julia Rose, 25, shared the video on Twitter writing “guilty as charged”.

Rose is the founder of SHAGMAG, a digital magazine which users can pay to subscribe to, with the models later tweeting that proceeds from subscriptions help to pay for breast cancer victim’s medical bills – hence their boob flash.

Another Instagram model, Kayla Lauren shared a clip after the stunt with the other two flashers, telling viewers to: “donate to breast cancer.”

Rose also posted “whoops, the wind blew up my top” and “my lil nips made it #WorldSeries”.

Los Angeles-based brunette Rose also uploaded what she claims is a letter from Major League Baseball notifying her that she is now banned from “all stadiums” due to her actions.

It reads: “On October 27, 2019, you attended World Series Game 5 at Nationals Park in Washington DC.

“During the game you violated the fan code of conduct by exposing yourself during the 7th inning, in order to promote a business.

“You were also part of a scheme in which you induced others to expose themselves to promote their business.

“You are hereby banned from all Major League Baseball stadiums and facilities, indefinitely.”

Businesswoman Nwanneka Nkumah hospitalized after being sexually assaulted, brutalized by Lagos policemen.

Then this police man who I assumed was already high on drug or something started shouting that y must I tell him that , I was first shocked and trying to understand where the sudden shout came from and he immediately started saying , you must be mad and all the curses on his mouth . It was 1am in the morning , and the only thing I could do was try to reach out to my phone while he was still shouting . Immediately he saw my phone , he forcefully tried to take it from me , I quickly put the phone under my skirt and the police put his hands right under my skirt and took the phone. I tried to reach out to my other phone , he held me sooo tight and broke 1 of my nails , I started bleeding , I got down from the car and held his shirt , then 2 more came out , started dragging me everywhere .3 men on 1 woman� wow @nigerianpolice u can do better . They dragged me untill the broke 3 other nails and all 3 started bleeding again . I held the man, told him to kill me which he actually tried to do . I took off my sneakers and told him we will both die there today . All 3 of them started assaulting me and pushing me around untill people came around and they started begging . I refused and told them they must take me to the station since that’s what they wanted to do , I held on to his shirt cause they were trying to run away and of purse , all 3 of them over powered me , and then ran away with my sneakers .

A burglar fell through the ceiling of a California restaurant after breaking in to steal with a male accomplice and it was caught on surveillance footage.

Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying two burglars who broke into an Ojai restaurant and stole hundreds of dollars and several bottles of wine on Oct. 31, 2019.

Footage released by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office shows the suspects, described as a male between 20 and 25 years old and a female between 18 and 25, in the restaurant.

At one point, the female is seen crashing through a ceiling, striking a metal food prep counter before she hits the floor. She appears to be hurt by the impact and is slow to stand up.

According to police, several hundred dollars and numerous bottles of wine were stolen from the restaurant, Bowls and Brews.

The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has described the reports claiming the state of Nigeria’s roads as poor to be mere hypes. .

Fashola also said that some parts of the country faced peculiar issues like high water table, which made construction in the rainy season difficult. According to him, the South-East and South-South are among areas with such difficulties. .

He also said that the ministry and contractors were waiting patiently for the rains to subside so that they could return to sites. .

He said: “When I come here to announce that a particular amount was approved for a contract that doesn’t mean the amount has been paid contrary to what you suggest. .

You are mindful also that minister of finance, different arms of government are escalating the fiscal challenges we face as a nation in trying to fund the budget.

You are also mindful that the last few budgets in Nigeria for almost 20 years have been deficit budgets and these are terminologies that are realities and I think we should acquaint ourselves with if we are not just to report news but also educate the public.

You must also be aware that between awarding a contract and also mobilizing to site there is a distance. First of all we have to have an agreement that is the relationship between the ministry of works or any other ministry and the ministry of justice, then there is a role that banks play, they have to give guarantee. .

Building materials – rocks, laterite, quarry, iron rode have to be ordered, construction companies don’t keep them. .

The process of producing blasting rocks requires approval from the office of ministers of Justice and even the office of the NSA to get approval to get dynamite. All of these are the things that go on. .
