A young man who is now a singer @oxladeofficial has taken to his social media page to thank veteran media personality, Funmi Iyanda for sponsoring him to school when he was young. .

According to him, Iyanda’s foundation gave him a scholarship that catered for my primary and secondary school education.
Oxlade explained that the scholarship took off the burden of paying school fee off his grandma as she was his guardian.
In reaction to the singer’s tweet, Iyanda said she’s happy to be part of his journey.

He wrote;

She might not even recognize me anymore ...
She might not remember helping a kid ...
Myself and my grandma never got the chance to say thank you enough ... @funmiiyanda

Just know that kid you gave sound education is out here doing what he knows how to do best .

Naked emaciated lady seen in Ajah is unrecognizable in new photos after being rehabilitated.

Remember the naked emaciated lady found in Ajah with rumours flying around that she was thrown out of a moving car? She has been rehabilitated and now looks healthy.

The woman, whose name has been given as Ene, was seen in October at Jubilee Bridge, Ajah. She had no clothes on and was so skinny, her bones were prominent.

Different people gave differing accounts of how she came to be found at the bridge.

As her story went viral, help came in the form of a kind Nigerian woman who rushed her to the hospital and got her medical treatment.

One month after, Ene is recovering and looks way better than she did only weeks ago.

The massive loss of Ogbia LGA by Douye Diri, the Bayelsa Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate was an attempt by the people in the area to teach Governor Henry Seriake Dickson some unforgettable political manners. And he has learnt the hard way.

The people in the council voted overwhelmingly for APC candidate David Lyon, as analysts said because Dickson as Diri’s sponsor did not show sufficient respect to Jonathan.

In the first instance Dickson did not consult with the statesman about Diri’s candidature. He just picked him in a stage-managed primary, aware that Jonathan was also interested in a different candidate.


The Broom symbol has become popular in Ogbia

To make matters worse, he did not also ask Jonathan to name a deputy governor. He was behaving as if he was the Alpha and Omega of PDP in Bayelsa.

It was a slight too much, the Ogbia people felt.

On 16 November, they spoke. They gave David Lyon 58,016 votes and PDP’s Diri 13,763.

The voting pattern was a tectonic shift in the 20 years of democracy in the country, since 1999.

Ogbia had always voted PDP governors, from Timipre Alamasiegha, to Jonathan himself, Timipre Sylva and Seriake Dickson.

On Diri, the Ogbia people made a volte-face. And even celebrated PDP’s loss in videos that have gone viral.
