Nollywood actress Fortune Marshal has revealed that her ex-husband used juju to marry her.

According to the Nigerian-based Ghanaian/Jamaican actress, she has finally learned her lesson on relationships, the hard way.

Marshall also revealed that her ex-husband was emotionally and physically abusive towards her. She also stated that after they ended things, the sid man took her kids from her for many years, before she eventually got them back.


Speaking with Sunnews, the mom of two said;
“I started acting since 2008 in Ghana. I came to Nigeria in 2009 and joined the industry in 2010. I was a product of domestic violence. I dropped out of the university in my second year due to financial difficulties. It was also the year I got pregnant for the man who got me through voodoo (charms). Life wasn’t easy for me then. I had to do odd jobs to cater for myself because the man wasn’t helping but rather abusing me physically and emotionally.

“I was under his spell until God saved me from him. We had two kids; he took them from me; for many years I didn’t see them until two years ago. I went and took the younger one in his absence. I have one son with me presently. For now, I don’t want to think about re-marriage, I just want to focus on my career, myself and my son, because we need a lot of catching up to do. Maybe after that, I will give my heart another chance to love.”

On if she decides to give marriage a second try, Marshal said it will be a person she shares “same values and visions” with her.

“Most times I tell ladies, there is nothing like Mr Right when you share the same value and vision with a man, then you are compatible,” she stated.

Their run of form has seen the Red Devils close an 11-point deficit on the top four positions, to currently sit one point adrift of fourth-place Arsenal in the Premier League.

The team have also reached the FA Cup quarter-finals, having eliminated Arsenal and Chelsea away from home in the earlier rounds.

England and Chelsea legend John Terry has said he does not miss playing football due to the pressures that come with it.

Terry played over 750 club games in his career, captaining Chelsea to five Premier League titles and a Champions League win.

The former England international retired at the end of last season after spending a campaign in the Championship playing for Aston Villa.

But, when asked if he has missed playing, Terry told Sky Sports:

“Do you know what? I haven’t. Missing the Monday to Friday, I get that, but the pressures of games…

“It’s funny because you watch games like the League Cup final, you want to still be playing, but the pressures that surround it, and the pressures I put myself under later on in my career, I probably didn’t enjoy, and that’s why I’m enjoying retirement.”

Despite retiring from playing, Terry says he finds himself busier than ever having taken up a coaching role at Aston Villa working alongside Dean Smith.

“A big change is after the game, where nine times out of 10 you have a Sunday off as a player, and you say, ‘That’s my time to switch off’, nowadays that’s the time where I’m watching the previous game, looking at the next opponents, doing clips for individuals,” he said.

“That side of it is huge for me, the depth and detail that goes into the meeting on a Monday or Tuesday morning.

“You’re thinking about the whole group. There may be one or two players that need speaking to on a Sunday, someone who was injured and making sure he’s OK, there are so many sides to it.”

Isiala Mbano (Imo) – The Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) office in Isiala Mbano, Imo North, was on Monday gutted by fire, destroying INEC materials and some infrastructure, the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports.

The cause of the fire which happened is yet to be ascertained.

When contacted the INEC Public Relations Officer, Mrs Emmanuella Ben-Opara, she confirmed the incident and described it as very unfortunate.

The PRO explained that the staff was shocked to learn of the incident, adding that elections took place in the area without any record of violence or crisis.

“Election took place in this place on Saturday and there was no record of any problem. The people that did this did not tell us what their grievances were.

“As at now, the commission in Imo is burdened with announcement of election results which we must finish before we start looking into the remote cause of the incident,’’ she said.

Asked if she could estimate the damage, Ben-Opara said it would be looked into at the end of declaration of the results in the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Imo State Command DSP, Orlando Ikeokwu, said the command was yet to be briefed on the incident. (NAN)

The President, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress was accredited just after 8am and voted at 8:07am.

The Fagge Local Government Office of the Independent National Electoral Commission concluded the distribution of sensitive electoral materials at 2am.

The Electoral Officer in charge of the local government, Ibrahim Idris, confirmed this in an interview with our correspondent, in Kano, on Saturday.

He said, “We are set for the elections all sensitive and non-sensitive materials have been dispatched to the RAC centres.

“The last batch of sensitive materials were distributed at 2am.

The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Balarabe Suleiman, says that security agencies operating in the state have opened a joint security control room for the general elections.

“The purpose of the joint security control room is for effective security co-ordination in the general elections,’’ Suleiman told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Saturday.

NAN reports that security agencies in the state included: Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Police and Department of State Security Services (DSS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Others are Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigeria Prisons Service, Federal Fire Service and State Vigilant Services.

Suleiman noted that all security agencies in the state are involved in the election security, although, the Nigeria Police remain the lead agency for election security.

“It has been the directive of the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu, for every command to have a joint security control room for the elections.

“The joint security control room is fully furnished; for all heads of security agencies or their representatives to be there as long as possible.


“It is also well furnished with all sorts of communication and information gadgets and stand-by operation vehicles attached to it.

“This is for security issues during the elections to be attended to with speed in a most coordinated manner,’’ he said.

According to him, the joint security control room, which is domiciled at the police headquarters in Enugu, will operate 24/7 this elections season.
