The senate president is elected on the floor of the chambers by a majority vote. but you and I know that they have already hijacked the senate with over 60 APC senators. So they will surely installed one of their loyalist who will do their biddings. Omo agege is just voicing out the hidden Apc/ buhari's agenda. |

Kagawa10: Look at this one. It's like you haven't been to PortHarcourt before? Lol. Then you would know the meaning of kidnapping.
The state government are getting security votes. So what are they doing with their money? Abeg go and sit down in one place. Is like you have comprehension issues, read my post again, I am not supporting the state govt at all. we are talking about the mass killing going on in the whole north and you are here spilling trash about kidnappings in the SS. you that has been to PH, were you kidnapped? Oga quote me anywhere, I still insist that it is the duty of the fed govt, being headed by the CiC of the armed forces to use its office to curtail the security issues we are having in the north. |
Crime › Re: Violence persists in Zamfara, as armed bandits kill 40 In fresh attacks-Thisday by trinity11(m): 9:58pm On Mar 05, 2019 |
Kagawa10: That's the problem with you guys. Always feeding on lies and your fears. Whether these fulani men were later released or not, what's important is there is now peace in the state. If Ortom had done such at the beginning, there wouldn't be so much death in Benue today. Fact is Ortom doesn't care about the welfare of the people in the state. A governor who has failed to pay workers salaries for years definitely doesn't have the people at heart.
Come to think of it, these fulani miscreants are no different from the miscreants in SS that kidnapps and kill. They are not different from the bandits in the North that kill their fellow Fulanis to steal their properties like we have in Zamfara. They are basically miscreants that need to be curtailed by the state government but people like yourself always make up bullshit just to induce fear into people's mind Abeg, let's do better. See this one, you have long way to go, are by anyway making comparison of curbing insecurity in the west and core north? are you by any means comparing Fulani heradsmen and Niger delta militant? You are just an example of the govt we hv in this country, you never take responsibility for your actions or inactions. you always look for who to blame for your predicament. I do not support any governors, for they are all one and the same thieves and rogues being backed by unnecessary immunity. You must know that state govt have very little influence on security apparatus, they report to the central govt directly. So yes the fed govt is to blame for the insecurity issues that is getting from bad to worse. |

Kagawa10: Fact is the police won't work without incentives from the governors. Their salaries are payed by the federal government and as such are answerable to thy federal government alone. They ain't suffer heads that could be deployed anywhere by any governor except they are payed.
This same herdsmen issue happened in Ondo state recently but Akeredolu was quick to nick it at the bud. He formed vigilante group to work with the police who were also funded. A fora was formed which had the presence of the vigilante men, police and even the Miyetti Allah leaders included and they were able to decide ways to curb the mess and arrest the culprits which they did eventually. But I tell you this issue wouldn't have been easily tackled without enough funding from the state government. Had it been our state governor had waited on/cry to the FG to help, it would have amounted to nothing except to cause more uproar and sentiment from various sides.
That's why Ortom should be blamed for this, not Buhari. Ortom and his likes are just Useless. And you think, the culprits apprehended are still in police custody? sorry sir, they uses federal might to come out sweetly and easily. have you ever sat down to wonder why this fed govt don't even regards these guys as terrorist? have you ever wonder why the govt always stay mute, when it comes to BH, herdsmen etc. Let 10 pple die in Ghana and see how our CiC will send a quick condolence even b4 they give up. And I tell you, the more our govt stay mute on issues like this the more stronger these terrorist becomes Anyway we are here already, we hv no other country to call our own, let's keep praying for a better tomorrow. |

It may seem to Nigerians like it's live but it would have been coming delayed to allow for editing and cutting off of his goofs and obvious signs of senility. Why do you think buhari always goofs whenever he travels abroad? Because the likes of Shehu Garba, Femi Adesina or Festus keyamo can not get the foreign media to edit their interviews of him.
Even the presidential debate coming up, Buhari's coming is only premised on his aides and media handlers muscling the debate organisers like Momoh into giving them the questions ahead of time as expo. Should they fail at achieving this before the date, Buhari will not come Ah Ah, is it that bad? odikwa serious o |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Ranked 22nd Most Democratic Country In Africa, 108 In The World by trinity11(m): 5:06pm On Jan 12, 2019 |
chosengocap: Today in history: Do you remember the 2012 fuel subsidy removal rally and strike? If you have forgotten, it took place from Jan 6-12, 2012. It got to a peak on Jan 8, 2012. Background fact January 1, 2012, GEJ led FG increased fuel pump price from N65/ltr to N141/ltr so that subsidy can be totally removed! Voila! # OccupyNigeria protests erupted in Lagos and some other cities. NLC, TUC, Save Nigeria Group, civil society organizations, Nollywood celebrities, ACN and opposition Politicians etc took turns to address the rally at Gani Fawehinmi memorial park at Ojora, Lagos to denounced the subsidy removal. The strike paralyzed the country economy for about one week. In the midst of the strike, FG backtracked and reduced the pump price to N97/ltr after series of negotiations with the Labour unions to call off the strike. Fast forward to 2015. PMB led FG said subsidy was a fraud, that there is nothing like subsidy. They promised to fix the refineries, that Nigeria won't import fuel anymore. Has it been done? NO! May 2016, PMB increased pump price from N97/ltr to N145/ ltr, claiming Subsidy has been removed. No rally, no protest, no strike from actors of 2012 strike .....even from Nigerians! # Jazzed ? NASS found out that FG has been paying subsidy unappropriated! Suddenly, the lid broke, FG was paying subsidy , despite claims of its removal! FG claimed it was Nnpc that was paying and not FG NNPC says they are not paying subsidy, but it's "differential", after more pressure from suspecting public, they renamed it "under recovery" . Oil marketers threatened to stop importation of fuel in Dec 2018 if their "subsidy" payment was not paid. FG quietly paid . Guess what, this year, subsidy funds is in the 2019 budget! N1.1trn! .. as they are tired of defending indefensible Question: Why are we not buying fuel at N97/ltr all these while (from 2016) when FG is still paying subsidy? Where are SNG, NLC, TUC, Civil society groups, Nollywood celebrities, eminent participants etc ? Who is occupying Nigeria today? Nice write up, and very informative. Let me just go straight to give an answer to your questions. Nigeria has moved from bad to worse, Nigerians are no longer free and safe again. and no sane individual or any of the above mention organization would like to wrestle with the person of buhari, like they did to Jonathan. No matter how Democratic buhari claim to be, the truth is that military blood runs in his vains. Have you ever said "sorry" to a soldier man? as peaceful as it sound it irritates them. that is their level of reasoning. |

DavidLion: As a Yoruba man and one of those who voted out Jonathan, I wish to remind every Nigerian why we mobilized against PDP in 2015 for someone no sane man would have voted for in 2011. We voted Jonathan out because the level of corruption and Boko haram terrorism was already out of hand. No citizen should live with that and intact no one deserves to live with that. Back then PMB was the packaged by APC as the better option. Now we have tasted the APC administration for 4 years and we have discovered that it is one which is based on underground corruption (eg Ganduje), government irresponsibility towards terrorism (incessant Fulani herdsmen massacre of indigenous people), selective prosecution of the opposition for corruption, impunity, intolerance to criticism (such as we tasted early in the regime, oppression and brutal suppression (zamfara killings, ipob protesters, unarmed Shiite civilians), and many other antidemocratic practices and stances. In addition to all these points, the current administration is one marked by irresponsibility since inception, always blaming everyone else for glaring incompetence from Malians to PDP to Libyans to just about everyone else but themselves. We have to ask ourselves, should this continue, must this continue? No, Nigerians must keep voting out incompetence. We should wise up to the fact that its no longer about Buhari or Atiku or Okonjo or Hashim or whoever. Nigeria is about us: we the downtrodden people who are only useful to the politicians on election day and who are simply pawns and rungs on the ladder to success and power. I may not particularly like Atiku as a person, but I believe that for now his proposed policies are better for now. If after 4 years he proves to be a liar like this administration is, we simply seek a better option. Anyone educated enough to be on Nairaland should know this. Now look at this patriotic citizen who kept tribalism and religion aside. may God continue to gv u wisdom |

The security men are unprofessionally and doesn't applied rule for/of engagement. It's sad that the guys in uniform are killing the lives they are supposed to protect. You are 100% correct. But what you dont knw is that, protest are no longer approved by security operatives in Nigeria, and its a strict order from above. my brother it is so bad that the reply you will get from the so called security operatives is a pure threat to who soever engaged in the protest. ask 2baba, Charley boy, etc. protest will only open up the government's failure to the who world, which they will do anything to cover up, including killing the same people they swore to protect.
