Kemi and her friends were invited to a party hosted by one of her friend's boyfriend Tony, a very rich guy. Kemi was so excited about that, it is an opportunity for her to show-case her flashy life-style to other ladies and also to attract other rich and handsome guys that will come to the party. She planned to sew the latest Ankara fashion in town, no matter the price. But the problem is where she will get the money for the shopping, she think and think but no idea, so she concluded to borrow from her friend, Stella.

Since the party is on saturday, she visited her friend on wednesday, on reaching her friends house she broke down in tears and begged her friend for N5000 for medical check up that she was very sick and needs urgent medical attention, her friend pitied her and lend her N4000 since she does not have enough... Kemi was angry but pretend to
be happy, " upon all this my begging and tears na N4000 this Useless girl managed give me" She said, leaving her friends house.

On thursday she left for shopping with her close friend Simi, When they reached the market,Kemi was touring the market looking for cheaper Ankara, since the price was above her budget she was very sad. Her friend Simi asked her to buy from another brand she refused and continue her tour alone, as she was moving to other side of the market, she was stopped by a young boy carrying an Ankara, Who asked her whether she want to buy it,she asked the price. ''N2000 for 6 yards ma'' said the boy. Kemi out of happiness paid immediately and the boy zooms off.
She immediately unwrap the Ankara only to find a square wood inserted in a pieces of Ankara cloth, she was terrified and ran after the boy screaming thief !..............

I said some states and I did not mention any state or whatever village your are from so must be guilty conscience troubling you..

I asked you what village you are from and what have they commissioned in your village, but obviously, you are too ashamed to name your village.

Your village is obviously backward, debt ridden and haven't commissioned a dog cage since 1960.

Don't be ashamed to name your village......

At what par? Zik built the first tv station in Africa like Awo did?

Zik built the first modern stadia in sub africa?

Zik built hotels like the still existing Lagos airport and premier hotels like awo did?

Zik built industrial estates like ikeja, apapa, ilupeju, matori and mushin industrial estate like awo did?

Zik created a conglomerate like the still existing Oodu group of companies..?

The developments Lagos state is benefiting from today transpired before the existence of nigeria as a country and before independence, also before the war.

This was the regional period when al the regions were on their own to develop at their respective level and from what we've seen, SW achieved more than the SE and the other regions combined.

War or no war, the SW achieved more in that period and still is today..
well ,, you are right,, our leaders are more individually minded. We have the huma resources, but no institutional resources,, really bad

1. Debt is not for everybody and it's not even only about just taking loans, it's all about who is taking the loans and their financial capabilities, planing and managerial skills and ultimately ability and capacity to pay back the loans.

2.Lagos state is not like any other state in Nigeria or the FG when it comes to debt and debt servicing and this is the reason why they have the best local and international credit rating...
[b]

They save and set billions aside in a separate account specifically for debt repayment.

What they saved have in their debt servicing account is more that your state's yearly budget..

The joke is on you...
Don not say it is more than my state budget, because we are not indebted to anybody,, Lagos debt is in billions of dollars and not naira,, they can keep servicing while the debt keep pailing up.

Meantime, the state government generated N101.69 billion revenues in the first quarter of year 2016 appropriation year, even as it had secured $100 million about N19.7 billion loan from the French Government to upgrade slums in the state.

Lagos is indeed a State within a State just like California is to the United States.

They can survive without Federal Government!!!!

Lagos borrowed the loan from World Bank, but with a guarantee from FG. Meaning FG can use Lagos State monthly allocation to pay the loan, if Lagos defaulted.

N100 billion generated by Lagos is about $500 million, which is about $2billion in a year, but I doubt if Lagos current debt exposure is up to that amount.
This past trend is for you

The so-called foresight and development in Western region was when Awolowo was the Premier of the region, which was well before the war.
And you forgot that Eastern region was at the same par with western region in development... until war destoryed everything... thats what awolowo wanted.. and successfully achieved it cause if his greediness.. but so be it... he died a shameful death

Please educate yourself, Lagos State got funding through bonds from the Nigeria Stock Exchange, becuase of my confidence in Fashola I also invested in the Lagos State bond.
Lagos got loan from the world bank for some specific project like drainage, flooding control, infrastructure etc.
African Development Bank was established to fund states and govts who meet up with their minimum standard.

Our leaders need to start from somewhere, we need forward thinking leaders in Nigeria.

The Lagos that was the Federal Capital of Nigeria, was just 5% of the current Lagos. The federal capital included Lagos Island, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Ebute metta, Yaba, part of Apapa, and some parts of Surulere.

The boundary of Lagos and Western region toward Ikorodu road is Jibowu, the boundary towards Victoria Island was Maroko, while there is another boundary at Ajegunle Apapa, that area is still known as boundary this date.

Awolowo established Industrial Estates at Ilupeju, Apapa, Matori, Isolo, Ikeja, Ogba, these Industrial estates are still present till date, he established Agricultural settlements at Oko Oba, Lekki, Ajah and some places in present Lagos State which used to be under the Western region.

Western region through Odua Investment, invested heavily in companies like Guiness, Nigeria breweries, Vita foam, WAPCO, Nigeria Bottling corporation, Nestle, Cadbury just to mention a few. Unfortunately subsequent military governors mis-managed the investments of Odua.

Odua governors are current having investments and economic summits, they are also thinking of collaboration, instead of waiting for a FG, i think our governors need to take their destinies into their own hands.
True.. Our leaders dont have fore-sight... but always remember, someone have to stand out. .The war affected us very deep... and that same awolowo stole all our money upon we are the victim of the war .... it took igbo industriousness to build what we have now.. lastly Nigeria is afraid of igbos.. they are caging us ... cause of fear of dominant.... any igbo man that want to stand out for us.. will be perceived as threat to Nigeria.. you still wonder why our leaders keep painting there utterance?? guy, Nigeria needs to free our region and give us what she gave to others

Dangote also has the highest debt in Nigeria if not in Africa, yet financiers are still willing to loan him more funds.

There is no big deal on the size of your debt provided you are capable of servicing it as at when due, what matters is your credit rating and I guess Lagos has one of the best ratings among the states in Nigeria.
Have you cared to check the size of debt of lagos state? and tell how lagos can service it when they are borrowing more

What will it profit a Chest Beater if you develop another man's land, but you neglect your own land.

I think charity begins at home, but to the chest beaters it appears charity begins in a foreign land.
