D conversion of currency is d beginning of wisdom o! I dey convert. Mnwhile I stil dey naija. But I dey use my Travelex PTA conversion.
So I started baby Window shopping last week dat graduated to actual shopping yday & I'm so glad I did. At dis rate,one must draw d line between sheer effizy &wisdom!
I opened my Amazon &Walmart shopping carts & started comparing prices. Cos I'm sure I can identify d originals vs d wanna bes.
I Got a whole lot for d equivalent of $150 & imagine dis means I've also saved my luggage space. Truth is, A lot of times, we (women esp) buy stuffs we end up not using. Not dis time. I'm rationing sleepsuit/bodysuit by age &style. Make I save dollars for hospital bills &Baby's documents which to me are d most important 2 tinz.
As for diapers & formula, I can't believe I'm saying dis but if I run out of forex over there,I'm so coming bak to happily commence baby on NAN. Certified by Nestlé.
As for everyday mall waka,mbanu! Na online shopping from big stores u can return if u don't like eventually. But shop wisely to reduce returns. Every dollar saved to avoid unnecessary mall trips counts. Limit ur waka to Dr's apptmnt &documentation -& like someone suggested, find someone to join! Wisdom shopping it is. Im done ranting. Kudos everyone! Ndewo nu.

U r even lucky, before I gave birth, I spend 120 to the hospital everyweek, only 4 me to find out that train is just $6, imagine I get to sav $114 evrywk. I just found som1 that can take me from Queens to manhattan for $80 dollars to go process 9ja passport sinc that's the only tyn left. The best bet is to hire a car or find som1 u can split the bill with. The only lesson I learnt is neva to convert the currency rate again cos I no fit get high BP b4 I get bak to 9ja.

For mamas that have not bought forex yet, do so as soon as you can. Forex is now so scarce, even banks that used to give are reducing their hand. I started building up my FX reserves from last year but was taking it too easy. I went to do WU and MG for both myself and my husband and they said they didn't have. I have gone round so many banks and it is the same story. I had to tip a guy N10k for him to help me out. He resumes by 7am just to help me get the FX and it has taken over 1 week with him being successful with only 2 WU.

Don't rely on your cards because banks can decide to stop the use of cards.

If it's next month, find somewhere borrow money na so it won't be too close to ur interview date. U can also 'defend' urself by sayin u paid someone some money to source forex for u (ur sis, mum or cousin) and hopeful,u'll hav d dollar equivalent of d outstanding cash. Chai. Me no like lying o but just be creative and stall dem since u know for sure dat u'll Get d money by d travel date.

Abuja Travelex is giving but it's rather late now. Dey accept ticket too. I think online boarding pass is OK cos dats all I usually do to save time. Boarding pass na boarding pass. Maybe it depends on d staff u meet.
Like someone said, arrive super early and try. Travel wit enough ATM cards to withdraw your $1000 per month and pay as u go.

Im NJ-bound in few weeks but my hospital cost. Im going there cos thats where I have family support so it depends on what you value most. Im hoping for some discount if I pay all at once as they claim - but they didnt say the % discount.
Vaginal delivery: $8000; CS: $12,000; Dr's fee: $3600 Anesthesia: different levels ranging from$800-$1,800. Circumcision: $150.

went this route laSt wk in dec 2015. You only need the one from your doc. They don't accept port health. Thou u can print the one on their website for ur doc to fill and sign.

I dont think there is any advantage over time. Most people might prefer to choose a later time so as not to be late for appointment. You cant predict traffic in Lagos.
