Advert ke
Who I be?
I'm renting a great strategic accommodation and willing to share almost at no cost. Hows that an advert? Is it too much to ask for company? Or are we now so dubious that our ears twitch each time we see honest requests online?
Ok maybe I need to be tutored.
Shuo

Vlesparza:
I'm sure if you bought any ads, they would be more lenient as they have always shown to be with other companies for which we understand and have respected. If everybody advertised as you did, there would be no need for anybody to pay for adds.

The information for buying ads is on the top of the main page where it says "How to Advertise".

They dont get the drift obviously. No mind dem.
When I posted an offer for shared ATL accommodation to kill boredom, they raptured the post. Twice!
Issorait. undecided

MamaOO:
Yeah the ad has been up there for years. But the blatant advert is just so unnecessary. Imagine someone asking for circumcision in Maryland. Maryland oh! And you’re quoting to give her prices in Texas and not even Houston or Dallas, El Paso! Que??!

So she’s supposed to travel from Maryland to circumcise her son in Texas? This is actually very funny.

shakidude:
Greetings everyone,

Would like to give a positive feedback.

So, I submitted my passport for renewal(dropbox) on April 29 and visa was granted July 12. It took a total of 10 weeks

Having read so many recent transcripts about 221g and subsequent denial after birthing in the U.S, I dreaded the trending 221g and Im so happy to have scaled it this time. I got one in 2017, was later refused but re- applied 2 weeks after and got it.

Although, the dropbox has now been cancelled, In my own opinion, I feel you can increase your chances for a successful visa renewal if you also go for vacations in other countries, that way you don't sound like you cannot afford any foreign trips or you are looking to cheat the system.

I paid less than 10k for my last birth. Previous one was even way cheaper and both were through CS. I mean if I want to purchase a good for 100 naira and another person is offering me fifty naira for same quality, why will I for heaven's sake decide to pay 100 naira when I can use the balance for something else. I have never received any public fund or medicaid but I've been able to convince the V.O that I will never in anyway abuse my visa.

I spent 2 months when I went for childbirth in 2017 as stated in my application and have also gone back to the states on 2 other occasions for 2 weeks in 2018 and another again earlier this year.

Also within that 2 year period, I visited the U.k and France.

In all, don't forget the power of prayers. It works wonders as long as you're doing the right thing. Even God wants honesty.

Good luck to others.

VeraPee:
Good Evening Fam,

Kudos to all the members of this group, always dishing out very helpful info. I salute!

Pls I need help!....I went for renewal of my visa sometime in May, but was denied. The consular asked how much I paid for my previous delivery and I told him (about 4K). This was cos my hospital gave lots of discounts- 45% for self pay and another 30% for prompt pay. The officer kept typing God knows what and then said I didn’t qualify.

Now I reapplied after 2 months and went back for interview yesterday. My transcript reads:::
Me: Gd mrrg
VO: Gd mrrg, why do you want to travel to the US?
Me: I will like to have my baby
VO: ohhh, when is your due date? (Sounded quite pleasant)
Me: xxxx
VO: (opens my profile in her system) have you paid more money for the previous treatment you received?
Me: I paid all my bills before leaving the US, I have all my zero balances
VO: thank you pls go(hands me the yellow paper)

Hmmmm, house pls how am I supposed to pay the hospital more Money when I don’t owe anything?

I called the hospital immediately and they confirmed I have zero balance for everything. They even sent me their hospital policy that sates the discounts that must be given to all patients ( cos I asked them to give me another bill without any form of discount so I can
pay all).

Pls I need advise. What do I do from here? Cos it seems I may not be able to renew my visa till I do something about the bills.

Very unfortunate. But again, I think the poster dem are quite rich. Coming back to renew American Visa wey never expire. Who does that?
Like someone suggested, kindly engage a lawyer and all the best.

Beautyaddy:
The highlighted part was the biggest mistake you offered to your wife to do.

You wife is not entitled to any US government benefits(Medicaid or Medicare) even if she has a US baby.

The insurance that your wife signed up for through her school should have covered all the medical expenses that your wife incurred. They should not have resulted into some of it being paid by US taxpayer...the US government really frowns on that.

Hmmm, this is a very tough situation to predict and what next steps to approach it undecided

Does it mean your ticket was like $900? Wow.
Tickets are now $1800 to $2500. Its painful
Very paining somtin sad

Elo2020:
Hello,

After changing your flight date, You can call Delta Airline customer care(go on their website)& ask that you want your LO to be added to your ticket. The amount is usually 10% of your ticket
I came back to 9ja in May & paid about $90.24 for my lap infant ticket for my LO. You have to make the payment via credit card or you can do a booking on hold 24hrs before traveling & pay at the airport.
You can also request for a bassinet for your baby.

With all this us visa wahala, why dont you land in the us first before your husband attends his inyerview. I just remembered a story here of a lady that said the VO was angry that she used her medical visa to birth two kids insteaf of one. So to be safe and to avoid issues like ones Visa bring cancelled or revoke, let your hubby pick an interview date that you would have already arrived in the US.

How true pls?

SUDDEN CHANGES IN US VISA RULES THAT AFFECTS NIGERIA:

This Week without prior information or notice the US Government launched a New Immigration Policy called " Build America " It's a new merit base visa application system that seeks to increase the standard of scrutiny of visa application to prevent people of questionable reputation, economic immigrants and People without travel history from getting US visa.
Under this new rules key changes have already been implemented without notice, as follows :
1. End of Drop box (automatic visa renewal without interview for existing visa holders is cancelled. Existing visa owners will now apply and be interviewed like everyone else when their visa expires )
2. Green Card to be scrapped
3. Applicants for B1 or B2 visas without adequate travel experience will now be automatically denied.
4. Applicant with monthly income below $1700 will now be considered as economic immigrants and denied.
5. Strong ties & attachments (compelling proofs of what can bring you back )to Nigeria now to be strongly emphasized.

This is serious.

interesting. Just hearing about this for the first time - so you can apply for visa even before the current one expires? Issa wawu sometin. grin

Mamaroon:
My personal advise is that, with a due date of Dec, just fill in another DS160 and reapply even though you already have a valid visa.

Your new application will be specifically for medical...take your doctor and hospital correspondences and bank statements showing ability to pay...try and get a hospital where the charges are at least 10 to 15k dollars.

I believe reapplying gives you credibility that you're not trying to sneak in...even though B1/B2 is for multiple uses. I did this in Dec 2017 even though I had a visa that was still valid till Apr 2019 then. I was given. I again reapplied this year (just to be in sync with my family members who were reapplying) and got a renewal just this May...thank God......in the midst of many denials.

Also see this link
https://www.nairaland.com/4250945/give-birth-usa-cost-procedures/300#78243158

Some others may say just go...sebi you already have a visa...just tell them at POE...that is their view.

All the very best.

Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Gingerzinger:
Good morning all. I have been a silent member and would love to give back (if possible)
I joined this platform in 2017 to find a hospital to have my baby in( I already had my visa in 2016 and disclosed to the VO I was going to give birth. I, however, had PROM and gave birth in Nigeria at 29 weeks, and eventually lost that baby when he turned 9 months).

I got pregnant again, and gave birth 9 months after and used the previous b1/b2 visa to travel in 2017. I disclosed at the NY POE and wasn't searched or questioned. In total, I spent about five minutes at POE and travelled to Florida to have my baby because I had family there. I spent about $12,000.

In March 2019, my husband and I applied for dropbox together in Abuja and got the 221g letter. We scheduled an appointment for Thursday, April 11, 2019.

We were a little scared as 99.9% of the people were being rejected and coming out with pink papers. The AfricanAmerican lady VO would reject about 10 people before the other VO's would complete one interview. Anyways, I do not remember much, but this is our transcript (not 100% verbatim fyi).

VO: Hello, may I have your passports
Hubs and I: Good morning, yes please (hands them over)
VO: Do you have relatives in the US?
Hubs: Yes, my brother lives in the US
I: My aunt also lives there
VO: Have you visited the USA before (types on her desktop)
Hubs and I: Yes we have severally, and even had our baby there in 2017
VO: How many kids do you have?
Hubs: One
I: We had two, but lost our first. He was, however, not born in the USA
VO: Sorry about that.
VO: What do you do?
Hubs: I work as a xxxxx
I: I work as xxxx in xxxx
VO: May I see your previous hospital bill. How much was it?
I: (Handover all bills, with all the adjustments, discounts, zero balances and Itemized bills) Our previous bill was about $11,600
VO: How much do you intend spending?
I: From our correspondence, about $14,000 (she didn't ask for any dr/hosp. correspondence, even though I had it there)
VO: So you intend to use a different hospital?
I; Yes
VO: Asks for account statement (We handover both from our various banks)
She goes through them thoroughly, and types for a very long amount of time.

VO: (Hands us a white paper) Your visa has been approved. Please pick up your passport in three business days.

In the two hours we spent, every other person had pink papers.
I want to thank @TripleKmama and @mrshappy who answered and supported all my numerous questions and requests.

What I learnt from all this is try to be as honest as possible and follow your instincts on things, especially bills.

I want to say thank you for providing me with all the research I needed and Good luck to mothers and fathers applying for Visas.

What do you have to say now abt the suspension of Visa waiver drop box? And even the recent plenty denials weve seen even on nairaland?
When people share authentic news and some others just have the urge to disagree without an equal alternative news...smh
These are part of d ways to cut down successful applications obviously and President Trump always means business. With immediate effect oh!

Well, Nigerians are learning their lessons small small.
Its now face interview or you forfeit your application. It is well.

Patiencemom:
It does not explain it. A declaration is not anything put into law. They are planning on doing something, but haven't started. Any denials recently have no relation to that declaration, because nothing has been put into law.

The US President made a declaration few days ago which a friend in US shared with me; something about seriously cutting down on visas for countries with over 10% overstay rate (not sure what it is called but Nigeria ranks very high in this regard)
This may explain it.

Hello mamas n papas,

Good to see this trend is moving well...
Congrats to all the success stories and the not so successful ones, God will give u your success story on your next interview..

For the itemised bill, I think its only For West Houston Medical Center (I may b wrong) but I renewed my visa via drop box and I was given even two of my other friends that used HNWMC.

Also can we research more on hospitals and doctors so that certain doctors will not be overwhelmed.. The doctors most of us used are from researches..let us explore all that is available on-line..

Well done..God bless.
I believe it depends on whom the VO it is that interviewed one. I strongly believe some VOs aren't knowledgable enough to know these things. I was so annoyed that I actually told the VO that oh. In my mind I was like if una no gree give me make I kukuma dey for my father land or go Canada. It can be a frustrating experience. I thought it was only St Mary NJ but now Im surprised to see others have had similar experience.

Please has anyone ever gotten an itemised bill from West Houston Medical Center? My visa was denied even though I had a zero balance. The VO couldn’t understand why such a huge discount of 20k was given even when I explained that it’s because I’m self pay. I have also emailed WHMC hopefully they can send an itemised bill so that I can reapply.

My country people wehdone oh. All NEW JERSEY PIPO MAKE UNA LISTEN WELL OH...esp if you used St Marys Hosp Passaic NJ. grin
If you go for visa renewal abeg I take God beg you...no bring out that long detailed bill they gave you. It contains breakdown of everything including syringe and medications. Some VOs might request but insist on your receipt and zero balance. Most VOs are not well informed and start asking unnecessary deep questions that may land you into hot Yoruba pepper soup!
The aproko details on that long thing might put you on a long thing as it did me. My visa application was put on hold for some verification. During this time I had some family stuffs and couldn't get back in time with the info. When I did, a few months had passed and I sent by email (meanwhile the US embassy doesn't open anything that contains an attachment). So the visa was rejected and I reapplied.

Same thing happened. I was put on hold and asked for me to go to St Marys and find out what the code NJ SELF PAY meant. Shuo!

If you look well on your bill you will see it.
Eventually I was granted a visa but some people were not so fortunate cos when I went back the second time I met a couple that was being interviewed and the questions and entire story sounded like mine! Phew! What an experience. Na vacation I jus wan go oh. Make I quick carry belle so this visa will be well worth it at the other side of 2yrs.

Una well done oh. TKM Jnr 2nd bday loading with a bang grin grin
