A simple automatic mechanism is pretty cheap and can be installed on almost any garage door, but it can have some additional features like smartphone connection or additional lighting and that means the price will go higher. That depends on what toilet bowl you want to install because they differ a lot. For example, according to Gerald's article if you're using something like Kohler Cimarron toilet you won't be able to hide the tank in the wall unless you will cover it with plastic or wooden tiles, can't say anything about ceramic though. You should look for 2-piece toilets like Toto, I think.

Indeed. Though some people experience issues trying to slip with the music in the background. Moreover, even the calm tones won't help some people to sleep better not to mention if you have big headphones, especially with a long cable, then go fr wireless ones.

Gnats are indeed a nuisance. Every spring and autumn they appear in my place, especially in the kitchen. But that's my fault, sometimes I forget to clean my house and that attracts various pests, gnats and cockroaches included. From my experience, the usual electric zapper is enough, just as Nicholas Martin advised in his blog. But if your house is heavily infested by those then I would recommend placing a few glue traps and ultrasonic repellents as well.

There are various ant repellents and traps. I would recommend using both types before and after introducing the snails. According to this blog, most of them are resistant to rain, snow and sun.
