Errm, Not to rain on anyone's parade I think "Yoruba" women should put their tongues in check when trying to correct a child. I'm not saying other tribes don't do same but it's like many yoruba mothers are fond of this habit. It's not a common practice with the Yoruba men though (they are more tolerant even with a strict disciplinary attitude) Like seriously the amount of Curses these women heap on their children is even more than what a potential enemy will want for them. There ain't no type of abuse and curse a lousy Yoruba woman won't heap on their child. Curses like "Olori buruku" "Omo ale jati jati" "Oloshi" "Se won sepe fun e" "wa shere" and all that are enough to torment an innocent kid till he/she grows up. The funny thing is that this nonsensical attitude is passed on from generations to generations. In fact an igbo friend of mine once told me that the easiest way to understand the yoruba language is through their swears and abuses because they greet each other with them on a daily basis. I even had to stop going to my cousin's house at a time because of the way his wife (a yoruba lady) torment their children with abuses. I hate being around a home where curses and abuses fly up and down, right, left and center like it's a normal culture. Djtm: 6k yrs since the creation of man and not the creation of the earth. The bible never said anything about the earth being created at the same time man was created.True talk. The earth was before the creation of man and other earthly creation. Seems some of these self-proclaimed atheists don't do research before they spew rubbish in this thread. If anyone don't believe in the living God since he's never seen Him, I guess they should never believe spiritual forces do exist whether good (Angelic) or evil (Demonic). My theory is that if you don't believe in spirits or anything spiritual, I challenge you to come to my village and tell one of our native doctors to go to hell with his beliefs. I promise you this "He will show you the evil side of spirituality" I can't guarantee if you'll ever remain thesame though. The fact is that not believing in anything does not stop the fact these spiritual forces exists. It's either you choose the Good one (God) or you choose the evil one (devil). Claiming atheism only represents that you are the indecisive one that would still be consumed by the deceits of the Devil. @Topic, God will not lead His Children into a temptation that is greater than them. But remember we are all but visitors in this life. Nothing here should be compared to what awaits us in the after life. My God is my all in all. He's the reason for my existence and I'll continue to serve Him wherever, however. 2 Likes |

My Background Is Multi-Tribal So I Don't Dislike Any Tribe. Coming From A Dad Who's Partly Delta Ibo (Agbor) And Partly Edo (Bini) And A Mom Who's Partly Yoruba (Ondo) And Partly Delta (Itshekiri) And My Maternal Great-Grandfather Who's Partly Caucasian (English) And Partly Nigerian (Yoruba); I Think I'll Be The Last Person That Will Discriminate Tribes. Most Of My Relatives Do Inter-Tribal Marriages And I Don't Plan To Base My Marriage On A Particular Tribe Too. Since I've Lived In Different Parts Of The Country, I'd Say Every Nigerian Tribe Is Beautiful. Only Our Individual Psych Differs. I've Had The Opportunity Of Having Acquaintances From Different Tribes Both Local And International But I Must Confess I'm Currently Digging These Fulani Babes.
