MaxInDHouse:
@ STRI1 and Truthday,
Being a Muslim was really interesting as we all have to pray to our God at the same time, the same way, the same place and bowing towards the same direction it makes me feel i was worshiping the one and only true God back then but the TRUTH could be found in the meaning of that noun "GOD"
That word connotes SUPREME BEING all beings whether spirit or human have the ability to think and make use of our senses in doing what will benefit us as a family so if really there is a being who is SUPREME in our midst that we are worshiping then there should be LOVE, JOY and PEACE permeating our gathering so that we speak and do things in harmony {Zephaniah 3:9} without thinking of making, buying, selling or using weapons to resolve issues among ourselves in the presence of the one who is SUPREME: GOD Isaiah 2:2-4
This is what is missing in Islam despite the fact that we always greet one another "SALAM" which means "PEACE" even if we can't make peace with pagans that's understandable after all they're against pure worship but what of within our own gathering as worshipers of the same God?
That's what made Islam another fake religion because the Israelites God we claimed we are worshiping never supported two opposite side claiming they're worshiping Him instead they must find a way to resolve whatever could cause a division among them.
Both of you are welcome anytime i'm always open for such discussion it's wrong supporting a religion simply because daddy and mummy practiced it otherwise those we are calling "PAGANS" should be right as well after all that's what their kind, nice and loving parents practiced too! smiley
I have not come to bring peace but sword 🗡️

That's what your GOD Jesus brought.

Justice Benson said the prosecution proved the case of murder against the cleric and ordered that he should be killed by hanging him by the neck until he is dead or should be injected with a lethal injection which also kills faster.

Our correspondent reports that the women had visited the pastor’s house in Oyigbo for a discussion on the said pregnancy when he tricked them into a bush and allegedly committed the act in two different locations.

Men of the Rivers State Police Command had on December 17, 2017, arrested Okoroafor following an alarm raised by Ezenwa’s husband over the killing of the three persons.

Speaking to journalists outside the courtroom, the prosecution counsel from the state Ministry of Justice, Precious Ordu, expressed happiness over the judgment.

While noting that the prosecution received several threats in the course of the trial, Ordu expressed delight that justice has prevailed

“Justice has been served to the state, the complainant and the convict.

“This will serve as a deterrent to all those who intend to commit the same offence because it is justice for all,” he said.

On his part, counsel for the defendant, Innocent Ekwu, said he and his team would appeal the judgment.

“We, as counsel for the defendant, have decided to appeal the case. We are going to file our notice of appeal as quickly as possible because we have grounds on which we believe that the defendant did not commit the offence,” he said.

Christianity EtcPalestinian Christians: Christians Who Lived With Jesus (picture&video) by Truthday(op): 12:09am On Jul 29, 2023
Palestinian Christians are often called the ‘living stones’ of Christianity as they can trace their history to the birth of the Church in this land 2,000 years ago. Ancestors of some families have been in the Holy Land ever since, while others migrated there in later centuries. Therefore they should be understood to be indigenous people of the Holy Land, not immigrants and not recent converts. In fact, they are the oldest Christian population on earth.

Unfortunately many Christians in other countries do not even know there are Christians in Palestine and view the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as a religious conflict between Muslims and Jews, rather than the struggle over land it truly is. Yet Christians around the world owe much to these indigenous believers and their faithful stewardship of the holiest sites of Christianity.

Once a major portion of the population in this region, today Palestinian Christians make up about 2% or less of the Palestinian population in the occupied territories, while they may comprise as much as 10% of the Palestinian people worldwide. The majority are members of Orthodox churches, second most are Roman Catholic, and then Anglican, Lutheran, and others denominations. They enjoy a respected place in Palestinian society, and a status in government, culture and business that belies their tiny percentage of the population.

These Christians strongly identify as Palestinians with the same culture and history as their Muslim sisters and brothers. In this land, Christians and Muslims have lived together peacefully for many generations. Today they suffer together under the brutal Israeli occupation and all that it entails: checkpoints, travel restrictions, confiscation of land, destruction of homes, abuse of children, beatings, killings, and more.

One of the most painful restrictions of the occupation are the limits on their freedom to worship. Tourists from around the world can visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, believed to be the site of Jesus’ burial tomb, yet Palestinian Christians who live only a few miles away cannot reach it without a special permit that they can rarely obtain, even during the Easter season.

For decades, they have been struggling nonviolently for their freedom. In the landmark Kairos Palestine Document – which has been signed by thousands of Palestinian Christians and endorsed by all the Heads and Patriarchs of the Jerusalem Churches – these Christians have issued a powerful call for justice that will lead to real peace.

As Desmond Tutu wrote to them on the occasion of the launching of Kairos Palestine in Bethlehem, December of 2009: “We are reminded by Holy Scripture that ‘when one part of the Body suffers, we all suffer’…. You are in my prayers as you launch this very special document. It is filled with grace, where it could have been filled with anger. It is filled with profound and prophetic words, and our God who neither slumbers nor sleeps will hear your cry and will be your Emmanuel.”

In that grace-filled landmark document, the Palestinian Christians’ message to fellow believers is this: “The word of God is a word of love for all His creation. God is not the ally of one against the other, nor the opponent of one in the face of the other. God is the Lord of all and loves all, demanding justice from all and issuing to all of us the same commandments. We ask our sister Churches not to offer a theological cover-up for the injustice we suffer, for the sin of the occupation imposed upon us. Our question to our brothers and sisters in the Churches today is: Are you able to help us get our freedom back, for this is the only way you can help the two peoples attain justice, peace, security and love?

They are keenly aware of their dwindling presence in the land where Christianity began, and are appalled by the brand of Christian theology that supports Zionist claims to their ancestral home, threatens their existence, and ignores their suffering and their rights as human beings and children of God.

“We also declare that the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land is a sin against God and humanity because it deprives the Palestinians of their basic human rights, bestowed by God. It distorts the image of God in the Israeli who has become an occupier just as it distorts this image in the Palestinian living under occupation. We declare that any theology, seemingly based on the Bible or on faith or on history, that legitimizes the occupation, is far from Christian teachings, because it calls for violence and holy war in the name of God Almighty, subordinating God to temporary human interests, and distorting the divine image in the human beings living under both political and theological injustice.”

They also have repeatedly refuted the messaging, propagated the State of Israel and Zionist organizations, that would suggest they are suffering at the hands of their Muslim neighbors (sometimes identified in coded language as “Palestinian nationalism”) and that that is the cause of their high rate of emigration from Palestine – rather than the true cause, the ongoing oppression of the Israeli occupation.

Those that have remained in the Holy Land are steadfast in their faith and their hope which lies in God:

“In the absence of all hope, we cry out our cry of hope. We believe in God, good and just. We believe that God’s goodness will finally triumph over the evil of hate and of death that still persist in our land. We will see here “a new land” and “a new human being”, capable of rising up in the spirit to love each one of his or her brothers and sisters.”

PoliticsWhy Should Any Religious Authority Declare Curfew Or Pollute Community Water by Truthday(op): 5:35am On Jul 28, 2023
Since a recent discussion is about freedom of religion.

Christians or Muslims alike practise their worship in mosque or church which is restricted place where their activities can be done. But, no one talks about traditional worshippers who declare curfiew on people because of (Oro) sacrifice, denying people freedom of movement, which Muslims or christians won't do. In a society where there's government and this restrictions of movement isn't given by the government.

Or why should anyone br practicing their worship and be beating passerby all in the name of carrying masquerades?? Isn't this against people freedom too

Why should anyone be polluting community water that's used to wash, drink, cook abd other domestic purpose all on name of traditional religion?

There are several questions about traditional religion which should be monitored on trampling on individual rights. There are several cases of destruction and havoc being cursed by traditionalist without anyone questioning them. It's high timr we start asking and establishing questions. Religious activities should strictly be restricted to place if worship.

It is funny that liars love to name themselves as "Truth" and traitors "Patriots".
The least you could have done is declare your religious demographics so readers can
understand your frustrations and intentions.
Do you have anything to criticize on the subject, the topic is clear. I think when people are out of evidence, they begin personal attack. Stop that act okay? Much love bro.
PoliticsAmerica Gun Culture: USA Pride In Wipping-off Its Indeginious Population(pics) by Truthday(op): 7:30pm On Jul 27, 2023
While many people across the United States are off enjoying this 4th of July weekend, this American holiday serves as a painful reminder of this country’s violent history which many are still unaware of and which continues to be felt today, across this stolen land. Independence Day, a United States federal holiday, commemorates the day the Second Continental Congress unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence of the United States on July 4, 1776. While the United States and its settlers claimed its independence from Great Britain, this came at a cost of others, including this land's Indigenous Peoples and Africans that were stolen from their own homelands and forced into slavery. This patriotic holiday is nothing to celebrate, because freedom cannot come at the cost of another’s freedom, especially on stolen land, amongst stolen Peoples. America’s Independence Day is a celebration of imperialism, genocide, and American exceptionalism, and there is no pride in genocide. This country must take accountability for its violence, and it is our collective responsibility to learn decolonized history, uplift suppressed histories, and make others aware of the United States’ painful past. With the acknowledgment of the truth, it opens a door for justice, accountability, and healing which can further affirm others’ rights and freedoms to be respected and upheld.

Freedom cannot exist on stolen land, especially where the theft of lands continues centuries later, as seen with the recent example of the Mashpee Wampanoag, where Trump ordered 321 acres of land out of federal trust in 2020. While this decision has since been overturned, the fact that Indigenous lands are still being removed from Indigenous hands illuminates the truth that this country’s foundation is built on stolen land, and to maintain that foundation, this cycle of violence and theft must continue. A part of this foundation includes racist text within the Declaration of Independence itself. In the list of grievances in the Declaration, it is shared why settlers needed to separate from Great Britain and establish its own nation, “He has excited domestic Insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the Inhabitants of our Frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known Rule of Warfare, is an undistinguished Destruction, of all Ages, Sexes and Conditions." In an NPR interview, David Treuer (Leech Lake Ojibwe) shares, “You can't understand our Declaration of Independence without having a modicum of understanding of critical race theory because this country was founded on two principles. One was the theft of Indian land, and the other was the theft of Black labor in the form of slavery. And that is fundamental. Those two thefts were coded racially, and there's no getting around that.” The reference of Native people as savages in the Declaration of Independence has created a culture and practice of dehumanization against Indigenous Peoples which has led to stolen land, rights violations, and genocide.

When settlers arrived on Turtle Island (North America) they did not know how to live off this land. Indigenous Peoples on the east coast welcomed settlers, housed them, fed them, and taught them our ways to live in good relationship with the land to ensure their survival. Indigenous Peoples saved settlers from famine and harsh winters. One of many notable acts of generosity comes from the Oneida, a Haudenosaunee Nation within the Iroquois Confederacy. During the American Revolutionary War, the Oneida people gave white corn to George Washington’s starving troops and taught them how to prepare and process it so that it was edible and nutritious. These acts of generosity continued between the Haudenosaunee and settlers and the United States deeply admired the Haudenosaunee’s balanced governance structure, the Great Law of Peace. The Great Law of Peace deeply influenced the pillars of western democracy and the United States Constitution, with some notable examples coming from the Great Law of Peace including processes to remove leadership, the balance of power and decision making between parties, procedural processes that enable the passing of laws and much more. All this to say, the foundation of the U.S. democracy, and this country as a whole, is based on Indigenous governance systems. Settlers survived because of the offerings and acts of generosity by Indigenous Peoples which are often not acknowledged or taught, especially on a day where the independence of the United States is celebrated.

As settlers made their way from the East to the West, they made 370 ratified treaties with Tribes to outline their nation-to-nation relationship and their mutual agreement to live in balance with each other and respect each other’s sovereignty. However, oftentimes through these treaties, there was an exchange of land to ensure and outline Tribal sovereignty, and the United States acquired much of public lands through these treaties, more increasingly with westward settler expansion. In article VI of the U.S. Constitution, treaties are noted as the “supreme law of the land”, yet, the U.S. government has not held up its end of the bargain in these nation-to-nation agreements. Treaty violations have existed since its inception in the U.S. and still exist to this day, with a recent notable example where a U.S Supreme Court decision failed to protect Native American voting rights in the case of Brnovich v. DNC which upheld two Arizona voting policies that make it harder for people—and especially People of Color and Native Americans—to vote (NARF, 2021). Moreover, another recent example includes the development of Line 3, which is a replacement pipeline proposed by Enbridge that runs through Anishinaabe Treaty land where construction of the pipeline has occurred without their Free, Prior and Informed Consent. From infringing on voting rights to the construction of oil pipelines like Line 3, treaty violations exist far and wide in this country, and this includes the United States violating its own constitution and legal obligations to Native Americans.

In addition to the fact that this country was built off stolen land and democracy, with ongoing violations of treaty rights, the violence continues domestically and abroad. On Turtle Island, there is an ongoing threat to Black and Brown bodies, where their human and civil rights continue to be violated. Police violence is a leading cause of death for young Black men in the United States and the Black community experiences disproportionate rates of both incarceration and murders by police officers. Moreover, violence from this colonial state has perpetuated Asian hate crimes and the criminalization of Indigenous migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border, and Indigenous Peoples protecting their lands against extractive industries. Furthermore, it should also be noted that U.S. interventions, military, and international aid have also caused violence throughout the world, disrupting democratic processes, and fueling wars in the Middle East, including billions of dollars of financial backing, aid, and military support to uphold the state of Israel and diminish Palestine. Additional examples of the United States' role in undermining other nations’ governance include interventions in South and Central America and its role in overthrowing democratically elected governments in Guatemala and Chile, just to name a few. All these factors have contributed to the large numbers of people being forced to migrate in search of a life with dignity. While these are just a few of numerous examples of American imperialism, the United States’ Independence has come at the expense of others’ freedom, dignity, and violations of their rights, and these acts of violence illustrate that this country’s existence can only be validated by historical and present-day violence.

The foundation of this country includes pillars of patriarchy, white supremacy, and capitalism and has used these pillars to justify and assert its independence and political power. We see these same pillars reflected in present-day policies that are designed to undermine others’ rights, their political and economic power, and their nationhood. We cannot celebrate this country’s freedom until we recognize that not all of us experience the same freedoms or rights. Independence cannot be celebrated until we begin to acknowledge this country’s history of genocide and imperialism, honoring the hundreds of treaties between the U.S. government and Tribes, passing and implementing legislation and policy change to protect Black and Brown bodies, as well as stop fueling wars and undermining other nations’ governments. Similar to calls to action like #CancelCanadaDay which was in response to the hundreds and hundreds of murdered Indigenous children being uncovered in unmarked graves in the State-sanctioned catholic residential schools, we cannot celebrate independence and freedom when freedom comes at the cost of another’s freedom, especially when that freedom was taken from our children.

Before any kind of celebration can take place across this country, we must open the door to healing this country’s wounds and history of violence. This healing needs to take place on all sides, including amongst and between the oppressor and the oppressed. This nation’s history, including its pillars of patriarchy, white supremacy, and capitalism causes destruction and harm for people of all walks of life, and if we want to come together where all of our rights are respected and experienced equally, healing must be at the center. To begin and facilitate this collective journey of healing, we must also learn, understand, and acknowledge this country’s true history. In this process of learning and unlearning, we need to lean into those feelings of discomfort, so we can grow together. This includes rebuilding our kinship, between one another and with the lands that we call home or occupy. Through this web of relationships, invokes a sense of responsibility to right the wrongs of history and restore our communities and environment. Towards this rebuilding and fostering connection, we must uplift and center those that this country sought to eliminate and assimilate. We must center Indigenous Peoples and financially resource their leadership, as we are the best stewards of this land, ecosystems, food systems, and are leaders in community building and healing. Everyone has a role in this process, this journey, and our collective future, and shifts in power, privilege, and decision-making need to occur to disrupt the harmful status quo. There is no pride in genocide and we cannot change history, but we can work towards a better future where all of our rights are respected and we all experience freedom and independence equally.

Leaders in his Indigenous Indian village beat drums to summon all 100 households to a clearing, he said. There, gathered villagers pummeled their Christian neighbors, who made up one-fifth of their village, and left Salam hospitalized for three days.

When the drumbeats began again a week later, on Jan. 9, Salam ran for his life. In this part of central India, he wasn’t the only Christian forced to flee.

Since December, Hindu vigilantes in Chhattisgarh state in eastern India, enraged by the spread of Christianity and rallied by local political leaders, have assaulted and displaced hundreds of Christian converts in dozens of villages and left a trail of damaged churches, according to interviews with local Christians and activists and as seen during a recent trip to the area. That visit to the remote region — a day’s drive from the nearest airport — revealed the extent of the chaos and its uneasy aftermath. In villages, bruised and beaten Christian converts picked through the rubble of churches destroyed by mobs wielding sledgehammers. In dusty townships, Hindu nationalist leaders led impassioned rallies promising more action against Christian conversions. In an empty government gym of the dusty township of Narayanpur, evicted families including Salam’s sought refuge, sleeping on mats next to a few sacks of spare clothes and grain.

The violence played out in one of the most culturally unique parts of India, a stretch of forested hills where missionaries from different religions and even Maoist guerrillas have long vied for the hearts and souls of Indigenous tribes. But the episode also illustrated a broader truth about India today: that antipathy toward the Abrahamic religions of Islam and Christianity — often portrayed as alien religions brought to India by its historical invaders — can be wielded as an effective mobilizing force for political ends.

Across India, reports of violence against Muslims often increase in the run-up to elections, a phenomenon that some political scientists have attributed to attempts by Hindu parties to energize their base. In the region of southern Chhattisgarh known as Bastar, the boogeyman has been the Christian. The violence that roiled Bastar began in December and eventually affected about 100 villages, local activists said.

On Jan. 2, members of a local Hindu group known as the Janjati Suraksha Manch stormed a Catholic church in Narayanpur town, where they destroyed statues and threw rocks through stained-glass windows. On Jan. 12, more than 200 men in Chimmdi village climbed onto the roof of the small church built by Jai Singh Potai and tore it down. Around the corner, they smashed another church and wrote on a blackboard: “If you don’t leave Christianity then the same will happen again.”

“It’s not going to work between Hindus and Christians,” Potai said as he surveyed the damage one night under cover of darkness. Soon, he would move away for good, he said. For a century, the poor, Indigenous tribes that lived here outside India’s caste-based society, worshiping trees and rivers rather than the Hindu pantheon, were seen as ripe for conversion by Catholic missions that gradually took root.
