Romance › Re: Am I Making A Mistake? by TruthinAction: 11:20pm On Dec 16, 2019
dannyla:
I opened a new account to remain anonymous.
This story is a bit long but pls bear with me.

I met this man almost 2yrs ago at an event a friend invited me to. The next week, he collected my number from my friend and called me, we began talking from there and agreed to go on a date. He proposed marriage to me on the first date which I rejected. I told him that I can't marry outside my church and from the little I've heard from him, our life dreams differ. I decided to cut him off from that day and I stayed away for about 3months. Meanwhile he got my friend to introduce him to my sis, mum and another friend who happened to be from his place, I'll call her Grace.
He made them all aware of his intent towards me and my stand and asked for their help to change my mind. Grace became his biggest ally and convinced me to have another date. He asked that we date for a while and see if we can work out our differences. During the date I noticed he has a very hot and quick temper and he listens to gossip a lot so I do tell Gracethat I don't see a future with him but he was too persistent, Grace always had words of encouragement and considering the fact that for some strange reason, it was mainly married men always approach me for a relationship with stories of how they got married to a wrong woman and they are or are almost divorced, dating a single man with no kids was very tempting and I decided to give it a try.

He asked me to tell him everything about me so there are no secrets between us and I did. Starting from secondary school to that day, I told him everything, from my first kiss, the colleague who tried to rape me, my ex who lied about his marital status and disvirgined me etc. he did the same too and I felt a burden roll off my shoulder.

Few days later I began to notice changes in him especially towards my business. I thrive in a male dominated industry in a ratio of 9men to 1woman. He asked me to show him the pictures of my colleagues which I did, he also asked if they make passes at me which I said is almost inevitable but my boundaries are clear and rigid.

Fast forward to now. I noticed that whenever I drop my phone, he goes through it. Facebook, sms, WhatsApp etc. He even picks my call when I'm not close to the phone. He asked me about a certain colleague who cracks dirty jokes like how I rushed to get married (I told him I'm already married). I didn't think much about it.

He later began to complain about my partners and how I'm sleeping with them like the prostitute I am, called me an unrepentant liar, unsubmisive, manipulating etc. Said he regrets asking for my hand at all and he's just waiting forthe day he'll catch me redhanded so he can dump my sorry a*s.
I told him to end it now cus I'm fed up, family came in and I later found out that Grace has been telling a lot of lies against hoping to get him for herself as well as hate filled advises from some aggrieved friends who felt ladies from my tribe are no good and just there to "chop money". Apologies were said and received and we continued.

Another time I visited him and we had an argument, he gave me several heavy knocks on my head and I developed a headache and began to insult him which resultedin more heavy knocks. I broke up with him and left. Later my mum called him to ask why he laid his hands on me, he denied it swearing with his life. Said I insulted him and he lost his temper and insulted me back that he's sorry. He began to drop messages everywhere and I eventually gave in.

3rd incident happened on our way back from an event. He saw a message from a colleague he told me to stop doing business with cus he feels the man has his eyes on me which is totally not true. He flared up, stopped the car and was even threatening to beat me up. I came down from his car and stood by the roadside. He came down too and gave me the insult of my life in full public view and glare and told me to enter the car which I refused. I had no money on me and had to beg a stranger for money. By that time he was coming back, he quickly took a picture of both of us and sent it to everybody of how he caught me in the act with my lover on the road. He called me and said that if he must marry me, I must break my business sim card and look for a wife friendly occupation or sit at home.

He later apologised over it. Meanwhile he and my sis don't flow as before as he once called her a prostitute.

I want to call it quits but everyone around me feels it's a mistake and he is saying everything out of anger and if I'm patient enough, he will change completely.

I must admit that he has changed alot since we met but the progress compared to the timeframe and the heat I face everyday is nothing to write home about.

He loves me to a fault and I don't know if I can find someone who loves me like him but his other attitude is sniffing life out of me. Do I stay or quit?
Thanks for reading and pardon any typos
You don't need a prophet to tell you what to do. If your story is the way you wrote it, you should have fled long time before now. The handwriting is very clear. It will not work. Your friends and family asking you to continue don't love you. Or, are you advanced in age or ugly looking? I don't get it. Just stop this stupid relationship. Focus on your career and serve God with your life. The right man will locate you at the right time.

They should tell us first what they have done with previous monies borrowed. Virtually all our federal roads are bad, no new industries, security is next to nothing. So, what have they been using borrowed money for? Besides, they have recovered more money than any previous administration. What did they use these monies for? Anyone supporting this borrowing is daft in his thinking. And who will pay the debts? They want to create bigger problem for the next government. Or do they think they will continue in power? God forbid.

It is difficult to criticize a government that you are benefiting or have benefited from. I know Adeboye is already rich but the truth is that rich people are never satisfied. They want to receive more. Who knows what he has received from this government? I hail the likes of Bishop Oyedebo and Dr Eneche who speaks out.

It's better to be late than to be the late. Most drivers are always in a hurry. Don't keep quiet if you are in a vehicle that is running on excess speed. In any case, your best protection is in Christ. Give your life to him and secure yourself from every evil and temptations. Also be mindful of your dreams. Most of the times, these mishaps are revealed to us in our dreams before they occur but most people don't understand the dream language and signs.

FFK means FOOLISH FOOL KAYODE
One of the terrorist spotted. God will avenge all the blood of innocent and defenceless Nigerians that you and your Fulani brothers are killing and the FG will turn a blind eye. How many Fulani has been arrested since these killings started.

I remember the FG once said that the herdsmen issue is under the police jurisdiction, that soldiers have nothing to do with it. But when cows were rustled few years ago, Buhari released 1,000 soldiers to go after the rustlers. We have a President who values the life of a cow more than that of humans and you say FFK shouldn't talk. All these nonsense will end soon in the mighty name of Jesus.

Kwanza:
The Federal Government has ordered an investigation into the Friday invasion of the Federal High Court, Abuja, by the operatives of the Department of State Service, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, has said.

The DSS, in their bid to rearrest the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the February 2019 general election, Omoyele Sowore, had invaded the court, during which the judge fled the scene.

Malami spoke to reporters on the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, after paying a courtesy visit to the Chief Judge of the court, Justice John Tsoho.

He evaded question on the reason for Sowore’s rearrest, which had drawn criticisms locally and internationally.

Fielding questions from reporters, he said he did not visit the Chief Judge over Sowore’s case but to congratulate him on his confirmation by the Senate as the substantive Chief Judge of the Federal High Court.

Asked if he was not appalled by the DSS’ conduct, Malami said, “Whatever affects the integrity of the court is a worrisome issue for us.

“I can never be preemptive of an incident over which I was not a live witness to.”

He added, “But one thing I am certain of is that the government has put in place mechanism for investigation of the reported incident.

“So, I would not like to be preemptive in terms of a conclusion, one way or the other, without allowing the consummation and conclusion of the investigation process.”

We need an industrial revolution. Close borders to the importation of cars and other things we can produce. If Indian can produce phones, why can't we do the same? Stop taking crude oil to refine abroad. Make our refineries work and build new ones. Fence our borders and put a complete end to insecurity. It is possible.

Politics › Can Sowore Really Overthrow This Government Without Guns? by TruthinAction(op): 3:20pm On Dec 11, 2019
The recent drama about the arrest and re-arrest of Sowore for fear that he is planning to overthrow this government is laughable. Please can someone tell me how he can do it without a troop that is well armed? Nigeria is not Sudan. We know what the Federal government can do even if he organizes protest against the government. They will just send police to shoot at the protesters and the crowd will be scattered. So, why punish the young man for exercising his constitutional rights? This is democracy for crying out loud. I am still trying to understand the rational behind his arrest. Is it that this government just love to see people suffer? What they need to do is to sit up and make life better for Nigerians. If you do well, people will praise you otherwise, it will be the other way round.
Sports › Re: Ansu Fati Becomes Youngest Goalscorer In UCL History At 17 Years by TruthinAction: 3:11pm On Dec 11, 2019
ogbiwa:
Teenager Ansu Fati became the youngest goalscorer in Champions League history as Barcelona ended Inter Milan's hopes of reaching the last 16.

Fati, 17, came on as an 85th-minute substitute, and a minute later scored from Luis Suarez's pass.

Barcelona, already qualified, took the lead through Carles Perez's close-range goal on his Champions League debut.

Romelu Lukaku equalised with a low 25-yard strike but Fati's late winner consigned Inter to the Europa League.

"I played the give and go with Luis and when I scored the stadium just went silent. I'm super-happy," said Fati, who has represented Spain at under-21 level.

"It's a dream. Everything seems to be going at high speed. I just have to take every opportunity I'm given. But here, you look around and think: 'what have I done'?"

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde praised the striker's finishing ability and said: "Ansu is a born scorer and although he's had some niggling pain, we wanted him to have some minutes.

"That it's a Barca lad who's the youngest ever scorer in this competition delights us."

The Italians started the day second in Group F and needed to match Borussia Dortmund's result to advance to the knockout phase of the Champions League for the first time since 2011-12.

However, Dortmund won 2-1 at home against Slavia Prague to finish second, with Inter coming third.

"Watching that Ansu Fati goal is painful, as it killed us in every way," said Inter boss Antonio Conte.

"We were pushing, creating the chances to score and go 2-1 up. I was also disappointed for the fans at San Siro, as they pushed us from start to finish and created a wonderful atmosphere. It should've ended differently.

"We deserved more in this group. Still, it's all valuable experience. We have to raise our heads again."

Barcelona rested Lionel Messi, while Suarez began on the bench, and there was also a first Barca appearance for Brazil goalkeeper Neto following a £23.3m summer move from Valencia.

Neto saved efforts from Cristiano Biraghi and Lautaro Martinez and a number of shots from Lukaku.

Martinez twice had the ball in the net in the second half, but was ruled offside on both occasions.

Fati had scored two La Liga goals for Barcelona this season and made two substitute appearances in the Champions League before this match at the San Siro.

At 17 years and 40 days old, he replaces previous record holder Peter Ofori-Quaye, who scored for Olympiakos against Rosenborg on 1 October 1997 at the age of 17 years and 195 days.

"We feel obliged to win this competition and we want to win every single match," added Valverde.

"We're thrilled because Inter are a really demanding rival. We played to win and my players, many of whom were making a debut of some kind, responded by showing competitive mettle."

Inter miss out again - the stats

Inter Milan have been eliminated at the group stage in their last three appearances in major European competition, going out in the same stage of the 2016-17 Europa League and last season's Champions League.

Barcelona have become only the second side to avoid defeat in 20 consecutive Champions League group stage games (won 14, drew six), after Real Madrid between 2012 and 2017 (30 matches).

Inter boss Antonio Conte has failed to progress from the group stages in two of his four Champions League seasons as a manager (also in 2013-14 with Juventus).

This was Barcelona's first win away at Inter in any European competition since September 1959 in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup quarter-final (4-2).

Aged 21 years and 297 days, Carles Perez is the youngest Spaniard to score on his Champions League debut for Barcelona since Cristian Tello (20 years 209 days) v Bayer Leverkusen in March 2012.

Inter's Romelu Lukaku has scored in back-to-back Champions League games for only the second time, and the first since his first two appearances in the competition for former club Manchester United in September 2017.
