2. He came with political allies, and for about four hours you sat behind closed doors in what has been described as another step towards reconciliation.

4. Reconciliation is not weakness.

5. Forgiveness is not foolishness.

8. Barely months into your government, lawmakers loyal to Wike began impeachment proceedings against you.

9. Twenty-four legislators signed the notice.

10. You had hardly settled into the office before you were fighting to remain in it.

11. Remember the years of political warfare that followed:

competing legislative camps,

battles over your political structure,

repeated threats of impeachment.

12. Your government was consumed by a struggle over who truly controlled Rivers State.

13. Another impeachment process emerged as recently as January 2026.

14. Remember March 18, 2025.

15. President Bola Tinubu declared emergency rule in Rivers State and suspended you, your deputy and the legislature.

16. For six months, you were governor in name but unable to exercise the office to which Rivers people elected you.

17. You returned only after the emergency ended in September.

18. Remember also the local-government structure you tried to establish.

19. The Supreme Court eventually annulled the October 2024 elections for failure to comply with electoral requirements.

19. Wike publicly celebrated that judgment, to him it was your public humiliation.

20. Then came 2027 calculations

21. Wike publicly declared that you should not receive another term.

22. He later said that an agreement had been reached whereby impeachment proceedings would be abandoned in exchange for you not seeking re-election.

23. In May 2026, you withdrew from the APC governorship primary, saying you were doing so for peace, stability and unity.

24. These things are nowm part of the public record.

25. They cannot be wished away because people have shaken hands.

26. There comes a point in every political life when the question stops being, "How do I survive?" and becomes, "What will my legacy be?"

27. Power eventually ends.

28. Government House eventually receives another occupant.

29. Convoys disappear.

30. Titles become old newspaper headlines.

31. What remains is a name.

32. And that is why this moment is bigger than Fubara versus Wike.

33. It is about what kind of governor history will remember Siminalayi Fubara to have been:

a man who understood reconciliation without surrendering judgment, or a man whose desire for peace gradually erased the boundaries of his own political independence.

34. You do not need to hate Wike.

35. You do not need to insult him. You do not even need to refuse reconciliation.

36. Politics sometimes requires sitting at the same table with people who once fought you.

37. But diplomacy does not require blindness.

38. A handshake does not require handing over your mind.

39. Peace does not require surrendering your institutional independence.

40. Whatever choices you make as 2027 approaches,make them knowing that nobody will remember your advisers, allies and associates who counselled you at this time.

41. It is you who will be remembered.

42. Governor Fubara, there is still a final chapter to be written about these turbulent years.

43. Write it carefully.

44. Not for Wike.

Not for your enemies.

Not even for those presently cheering you.

45. Write it for your family name, your people and the version of Siminalayi Fubara that you want history to remember.

46. You're not a coward, you're a warrior who never backed down. Live it!

Wike: I Never Stopped Fubara from Contesting 2027 Governorship — I Only Withdrew My Support

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he never prevented Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara from recontesting the 2027 governorship election.

In a statement clarifying his position, Wike addressed recent reports suggesting that Fubara was considering defecting to the NDC to pursue his re-election bid. The FCT Minister insisted that he had not blocked the governor’s ambition in any way.

“I didn’t stop him from contesting,” Wike stated. “There were news that he was considering moving to NDC to recontest. I didn’t stop him; I only withdrew my support from his governorship ambition as an individual.”

Wike emphasized that his decision was personal and did not amount to stopping Fubara from seeking another term in office. The minister maintained that withdrawing his individual support should not be interpreted as an attempt to hinder the governor’s political aspirations ahead of the 2027 polls.

The clarification comes amid ongoing political developments in Rivers State, where the relationship between the two leaders has been a subject of public interest.

I’ve always communicated to you people my unshakeable conviction that a higher destiny is guiding Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

You must take home the fact the conviction is completely borne out by the spectacular, near miraculous political survival of his administration over the last three years.

Okay, let’s say; we go by all conventional laws of raw political warfare, you will understand with me that Fubara was expected to be an early casualty.

He faced a multi front assault from an entrenched, hyper aggressive godfather, three separate impeachment attempts, parallel legislative sittings, a hostile federal center, and a calculated legal trap designed to starve his state of financial oxygen.

Yet, every single weapon formed against him has backfired, and has left him completely secured in the Government House as an undisputed grandmaster of the long game.

The undeniable facts that prove his journey are there for the blind to see. When the fire 🔥 dies down, the ashes lives to bear witness.

I don’t want to postulate, I would want you to behold by yourself the recompense of the wicked.

Nyesom Wike used the Supreme Court to remove the 23 Local Government Council Chairmen and Counselors from office, removed Chairmen and members of Boards appointed by Governor Sim Fubara, sent Rivers State to 6 months State of Emergency, suspended Governor Fubara from office and sent all the Commissioners appointed by the Governor packing.

Nyesom Wike also stopped Ipalibo Harry Banigo and Inumbek Abiante, from seeking a return ticket on their political party platform due to their sympathy for the Governor.

He equally stopped all House of Assembly aspirants who were supporters of Governor Fubara from participating in the APC primaries and even stopped the Governor himself from seeking a second term in office.

What did this man not do to frustrate Governor Fubara and his supporters in Rivers State just to achieve his selfish political objectives.

Interestingly, the same man who committed all these atrocities against the people still have the mind to come to them to ask for their support for his Rainbow Confusion candidates.

So funny.

Certainly, he must have his heart at his back Wike is not only shameless but heartless.

What made him think that the people he treated this badly would just forget about the tortuous and painful agony he brought upon them and support his Rainbow Confusion just like that.

For me, Nyesom Wike will have to tell us how many Senatorial seats supporters of Governor Fubara will get.

He will also tell us how many House of Representatives slots supporters of the governor will get.

Wike will say how many House of Assembly seats Sim Fubara's supporters will have, and
How many Local Government Council Chairmanship and Counselorship positions supporters of Sim Fubara will be given
before they will accept to support his Rainbow Confusion candidates,

Politics is give and take and Wike cannot take everything and expect those he tortured and humiliated to stupidly, foolishly and blindly follow .

He thinks the people are so naive that they don't have a mind of their own and can be hoodwinked and manipulated anyhow to get whatever he wants.

Without any concrete stake, whatever reconciliation Wike is brandishing is only but deceptive and Fake.

He only wants to use you as bait to win election for his candidates and then abandon you as soon as the job is done.

Therefore, I advise again, don't be a fool at forty.

WIKE SUFFERS MORE BLOWS AS ETCHE NATIONALITY REJECTS RAINBOW COALITION AND OK CHINDA

In a fresh development, just a few hours ago, a town hall meeting was organised in Etche by the Etche LGA Chairman for FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to present the gospel of the Rainbow Coalition to the good people of Etche. While Wike was still speaking, insisting that Ok Chinda was the only capable hand for the job, the crowd was immediately thrown into commotion. Some were chanting, “Wike, go to hell with your Rainbow Coalition,” while others were chanting, “Ok Chinda is a rejected soul and a slave driver.” Meanwhile, the majority of the crowd were chanting, “ADC is the party, and Gabriel Pidomson is the man.”

In the midst of the confusion, FCT Minister Wike reportedly said, “Well, there is nothing anyone can do, whether you vote or not. I own Rivers State. All that I wanted Governor Sim Fubara to do, he has done, so I am in charge. They said we have been writing results to win elections, and we will write again, and heaven will not fall.”

Meanwhile, speaking on the sidelines, a chieftain of the Rainbow Coalition said that Sir Dr. Gabriel Baritulem Pidomson, PhD, FNIM, FNIQS, and Hon. David A. Okumgba had already won the hearts of Rivers people.

Court has nullified wards, Local government and state government congresses including the Tony Okocha led executive that conducted primaries and signed the candidates' nomination forms.
How again are they going to go back even if they are appointed caretakers committee today to retain the candidates in which the congresses that produced them had been nullified.

There is no room again for them currently because even if they appoint them today as caretakers, INEC won't recognise them anymore, the next thing they will do is to go to court and ask court to order INEC for recognition which the court proceedings might not end before election and you can't just conclude if court judgement will come in their favour

Apc asks INEC to Enforce Supreme Court judgement on Membership Registers, Bar parties that breached section 77 of Electoral Act

The All Progressives Congress has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to bar political parties that fail to comply with Section 77 of the Electoral Act 2026 from fielding candidates in the 2027 general elections.

In a letter dated October 9, signed by its National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, and made available to journalists on Friday, the APC urged INEC to enforce the Supreme Court’s September 24 judgment in INEC v Zenith Labour Party on membership register requirements.

In the letter addressed to INEC, the party urged the commission to verify whether political parties submitted their digital membership registers at least 21 days before their respective primaries, congresses and conventions, and apply the legal consequences of non-compliance.

The letter stated, “The All Progressives Congress respectfully request the Independent National Electoral Commission (hereinafter referred to as the Commission) to take immediate steps to enforce by giving effect to the judgment of the Supreme Court (attached herewith for ease of reference) delivered on 24 September 2026 in INEC v Zenith Labour Party (Suit No. SC/CV/495/2026), regarding compliance with the statutory requirements governing the submission and use of political parties’ membership registers for party primaries, congresses and conventions.

“The judgment affirmed the validity of section 77 of the Electoral Act 2026 as enacted by the National Assembly, by setting aside the order of the Court of Appeal nullifying S.77(5) to (7) and S. 84(2) of the Electoral Act 2026 and Activity Serial Number Two of the INEC Revised Timetable and Schedule and Schedule of Activities for 2027 General Election as unconstitutional.

“While 77(4) provides that ‘Each political party shall make such register available to the Commission not later than 21 days before the date fixed for the party primaries, congresses or conventions, section 77(5) specifically provides that only members whose names are contained in the register shall be eligible to vote and be voted for in party primaries, congresses and conventions.

“Furthermore, section 77(6) prohibits a political party from using any register other than the one submitted to the Commission for those purposes. The Court at page 24 of the judgment further explained that the practical legal effect of section 77(7) of the Act is that a political party that fails to submit its digital membership register within the prescribed period may be precluded from fielding candidates in the general election.”

The APC said the Supreme Court had affirmed that Section 77 of the Electoral Act 2026 makes compliance with membership register requirements mandatory, with the aim of promoting internal democracy and transparent party elections.

It also stressed that parties must submit their registers to INEC on time and allow only listed members to vote or contest in primaries, congresses and conventions.

The letter further stated, “This interpretation by the Supreme Court demonstrates the mandatory
character of the statutory requirements and the legal consequences of non-compliance by political parties. The Court was emphatic at pages 25 — 26 that the objective of section 77 is to ensure that political parties adhere to the principles of internal democracy, particularly through the fair, transparent and verifiable conduct of party primaries, congresses and conventions.

“The Supreme Court also emphasised that statutory requirements governing the timely submission of membership registers, the eligibility of members to vote and be voted for, and the exclusive use of the register submitted to INEC are integral to achieving that objective.

"In reaching this conclusion, the Supreme Court relied on section 228(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), which empowers the National Assembly to make laws prescribing guidelines and rules to ensure internal democracy within political parties, including laws regulating the conduct of party primaries, congresses and conventions.

“It correctly referred to and relied on Ardo v Nyako(2014) 10 NWLR (Pt.1416) 591 at 620 in which it held that – The power donated to the National Assembly in section 228 of the Constitution is to make laws which provides guidelines and rules to ensure internal democracy within political parties and this includes making laws for the conduct of party primaries, party congresses and party conventions.”

The APC said political parties had the authority to nominate candidates for elections but were required to follow legally prescribed procedures, including conducting direct or indirect primaries for aspirants seeking elective positions.

The party also said the Supreme Court had affirmed that INEC gave political parties sufficient time to submit their digital membership registers as required by Section 77(4) of the Electoral Act 2026, adding that there was no justification for missing the statutory deadline.

It argued that INEC was constitutionally bound to enforce the judgment because it was a party to the case. The APC cited Section 287(1) of the 1999 Constitution, which requires all authorities and persons

Let what slide? What has this irrelevant judgement has to do with anything? When the court nullified the ADC state congresses, did that stop ADC from putting up candidates for the election? This judgement is just a mere academic exercise. Even if Supreme Court nullifies the state Congress, it changes nothing. APC NEC will simply dissolve the other faction and appoint the Okocha led faction as caretaker committee. When people don't want you in their party, just pack your things and leave instead of fighting irrelevant battles.

Breaking: Appeal Court upholds nullification of Rivers APC Congresses

The legal battle over who controls the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has taken another significant turn, with the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt dismissing an appeal linked to the disputed 2024 party congresses that produced Tony Okocha and his executive committee.

The decision leaves the Rivers State High Court’s earlier judgment nullifying the congresses in place, deepening the legal uncertainty surrounding the party’s state leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections. However, the APC leadership insists that the ruling does not threaten the status of its current executive committee, setting up a sharp disagreement over the practical implications of the appellate court’s decision.

The appeal, filed in Suit No. CA/PH/523/2024, challenged the judgment delivered on December 20, 2024, by Justice Godswill Obomanu of the Rivers State High Court. The trial court had nullified the ward, local government and state congresses after proceedings arising from an earlier court order restraining the party from conducting the exercise. According to Emenike Ebete, counsel to the respondents, the appeal was dismissed for being incompetent, leaving the High Court’s nullification intact.

Ebete explained that the APC had proceeded with the congresses despite the subsisting restraining order and without returning to court. He maintained that the appellate court’s decision meant the judgment invalidating the exercise remained valid and binding. The proceedings were reportedly conducted virtually through Zoom, with parties provided links to participate in the hearing.

But the Rivers APC leadership has pushed back against interpretations suggesting that the judgment automatically removes its executives from office. In a statement, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Chibike Ikenga, said the judgment delivered on Friday, May 29, 2026, concerned an interlocutory appeal and that the substantive matter had been remitted to the trial court for full hearing. He said the party’s lawyers would study the full judgment and advise on the next steps, while urging members to remain calm.

The conflicting positions raise a critical question: does the dismissal of the appeal leave the Okocha-led executive without a valid legal foundation, or does the pending substantive trial mean the immediate status of the leadership remains contested? The answer depends on the precise terms and legal effect of the appellate judgment, including the issues remitted to the High Court and any consequential orders.

With the 2027 elections approaching, the dispute could have implications for the APC’s internal organisation, leadership legitimacy and preparations in Rivers State. For now, the High Court’s nullification remains central to the controversy, while the party maintains that its executive committee’s status is not under immediate threat. The full judgment and subsequent proceedings before the trial court will be crucial in determining the next chapter of the battle.
