Surajudeen Oyewale (Sir Jarus) Donates Mini Sports Complex to University of Offa

Leading real estate firm, Jarus Homes & Investments Limited, has announced plans to donate a mini sports complex to the University of Offa (UNIOFFA), Kwara State, in a move aimed at promoting sports development and enhancing students' recreational opportunities.

The donation was disclosed by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Jarus Group, Mr. Surajudeen "Jarus" Oyewale, in a post on Monday, June 1, 2026 through his verified Twitter (X) account.

"CSR has to begin at home. Jarus Homes is excited to commit to donating a mini sports complex, consisting of a football pitch and volleyball and tennis courts, to the University of Offa," Oyewale stated.

The proposed sports complex is expected to provide modern facilities for students and contribute to the institution's drive to promote physical fitness, talent discovery and holistic development.

Oyewale, a member of the Governing Council of the University of Offa, is widely regarded as one of Nigeria's leading entrepreneurs and career mentors.

His latest intervention further reflects his commitment to educational advancement, youth empowerment and community development.

In its reaction, the University of Offa through its media commended him for the initiative.

The institution described the planned donation as another demonstration of Oyewale's belief in giving back to society and investing in the next generation.

The project is expected to strengthen sporting activities at the University of Offa and provide a conducive environment for students to combine academic pursuits with athletic development.

The initiative also reinforces the growing role of private-sector stakeholders in supporting educational institutions and expanding access to quality infrastructure across Nigeria.

PoliticsFubara Tricked, Manipulated Into Joining APC For Second Term – Prof Simon Nnah by Truths9ja(op): 7:03pm On May 21
A policy analyst, Prof Simon Nnah, says Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara was deceived and manipulated into defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC, with the believe that he would be allowed to do his second term.

Nnah claimed that Fubara was deceived with what he termed the “euphoria that he is the 001” of the state

He spoke with News Central while dissecting the political dynamics in Rivers State and Fubara’s withdrawal from the governorship race.

DAILY POST reports that Fubara on Wednesday night announced his withdrawal from the APC governorship primary.

The governor said his decision was not due to weakness or fear, stressing he stepped aside for peace in the state.

However, Nnah said: “The move to APC was to forestall what was going on Rivers State because there were still moves to impeach him again after they have declared a state of emergence in Rivers State.

“When he came back there were moves to impeach him so one of the safest things he had to do was to move to the ruling party so that they could protect him, it was a protective covering.

“The APC has been manipulating issues, they started with the Electoral Act that once a political party submits her register to INEC you can’t move to another political party to contest and that is what they have used to ensure that the people they drift into joining them will not leave them because they have the mind not to give them those tickets.

“What happened in the case of Fubara was that he was tricked to join the APC thinking that with his movement they will allow him to do his second tenure because when he got there they came up with the euphoria that he is the 001 and this where all deceits and manipulations because we have seen them now as just manipulations.

“At the end of the day, you will not blame Fubara for so much because he tried to make peace with the house but they refused, he tried to present the budget but they refused to accept it, and I don’t know if that budget has been presented up till this moment.”

Nnah, however, noted that the governor was struggling for survival because his stay in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would have caused more problems.

He said: “So you will discover that he was fighting for survival and any other politician would have done worse than what he did. I don’t see that as a wrong move because his stay in PDP would have created a barrage of other problems, where does the PDP stand from the Supreme Court judgement?”

The analyst further warned that Fubara should be feared.

“The APC will swallow itself in Rivers State and that is a sure bet. Sim Fubara you might think that he doesn’t know what he is doing but such people are very dangerous because you don’t know what is in his mind.

“He doesn’t always speak, he just drops one or two words and goes back to his shell; such people are very dangerous, fear them,” he added.

fergie001:
They have to take leave of court.
The leave of court to appeal is because they were not parties in the lower court.
Hence they will either approach Justice Umar to join the suit or approach the Appeal Court.

Two things are trite:
- They must show cause why their leave should be granted and why it affects them most than other parties.

- If it is granted, be sure that the other parties will also apply for the leave.
thanks experience legal luminary here. You speak the truths here cos' you are much experienced in the law field.

Here is the judgement from the Federal High on INEC electoral laws

1. INEC can only monitor 2027 primaries but cannot fix timetable for when a political party should conduct its primaries for this election

2. INEC cannot give a shorter timeframe or abridge the period in which a political party can provide information of their candidates for 2027 election

3. INEC cannot give a shorter timeframe to political parties as regards withdrawal or replacement of candidates (Placeholders)

4. INEC cannot publish any final list of candidates for 2027 elections before 60 days to election.

5. INEC cannot fix 2027 campaigns to end 2 days to elections.

6. This is AN ORDER nullifying and setting aside the timeframes imposed by INEC for 2027 General Election for:

- the conduct of primary elections by political parties for the 2027 general elections

- the submission of personal particulars of candidates by their political parties for the 2027 general elections

- the withdrawal and replacement of candidates by political parties

- the publication of the final list of candidates for the 2027 general elections and campaigning.

The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court has invalidated guidelines by the Independent National Electoral Commission mandating political parties to submit a register and database of all members on May 10 to be eligible to contest for the 2027 general elections.

Justice M.G. Umar delivered the judgement on Thursday in a suit filed by the Youth Party, compelling INEC to follow the 120 days pre-election deadline prescribed by the Electoral Act 2026 for the submission of party registers.

“A Declaration is made that having regards to Section 29(1) of the Electoral Act, 2026 which requires political parties to submit the personal particulars of their candidates not later than 120 days to an election, the Defendant cannot lawfully abridge or limit that statutory period by prescribing a shorter time frame in its 2027 elections,” stated the judgement.

All registered parties, according to Mr Umar, have until September to submit an updated list of all party members, nullifying the initial May 10 deadline.

The judgement gives politicians, who have lost primary elections in their respective parties, the leeway to defect to another political party to continue their ambitions.

The presidential and national assembly elections have been scheduled for January 16, 2027 while governorship and state Houses of assembly polls are set to hold on February 6, 2027.
