13 YEARS AFTER, HOPE RETURNS TO ABUA–NDELE CORRIDOR. Two months after assuming office, on Friday, July 28, 2023, Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, stepped into history. He visited the long-abandoned Abua–Agba Ndele Bridge and the Ahoada–Ndele Road project, a critical infrastructure link initiated in 2013 by former Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. What he met was concerning: A strategic bridge left uncompleted for over 13 years. A project comprising a 1.2km approach road and a 240m-long, 9.6m-wide bridge connecting Abua/Odual, Ahoada-East and Emohua LGAs. Communities disconnected. Economic opportunities slowed. Acknowledging that this corridor provides faster access to the East–West Road and Port Harcourt, boosting agriculture, trade and the movement of goods and services, Governor Fubara did not just visit, he acted. His Excellency promptly re-engaged the contractor, Setraco Nigeria Limited. Today, the narrative has changed: From abandonment to advancement. From delay to delivery. From uncertainty to progress. Finishing touches are ongoing, and the long-awaited dream is now a visible reality. Commissioning will follow soon. This is governance in motion. This is continuity at work. This is leadership that builds on existing foundations for the collective good of Rivers State. #SimWorks May Gov. Sim Fubara succeed. Hisbah Arrests 11 Muslims for Eating During Ramadan Fast in Kano The Hisbah Corps in Kano State has arrested 11 Muslims for allegedly eating in public during the ongoing Ramadan fast, reinforcing the enforcement of Islamic laws observed across the state. The arrests, which took place on Wednesday, involved 10 men and one woman who were reportedly caught consuming food during fasting hours. The woman, identified as a groundnut seller, was said to have been seen eating from her wares before being reported to authorities. Confirming the development, Hisbah spokesperson, Lawal Fagge, disclosed that the arrests were carried out across different parts of Kano, particularly around busy market areas where daily commercial activities were ongoing. According to him, the Hisbah Corps conducts routine surveillance of eateries, markets, and public spaces every year during Ramadan to ensure compliance with Islamic fasting obligations, especially among Muslims. Fagge clarified that the enforcement strictly applies to Muslims, noting that non-Muslims are exempt from such actions. “We do not arrest non-Muslims because the fasting obligation does not concern them. The only situation where they may be questioned is if they deliberately prepare food for Muslims who are expected to be fasting,” he explained. He further revealed that the 11 individuals were later released after they swore an oath and pledged to observe the fast properly going forward. In some cases, family members and guardians were involved to ensure compliance and proper monitoring. Kano State operates a dual legal system where Sharia law functions alongside Nigeria’s secular legal framework. The Hisbah Corps is responsible for enforcing aspects of Islamic morality and conduct among Muslims in the state. The development has once again highlighted the role of religious enforcement agencies during Ramadan in northern Nigeria, particularly in states where Sharia law is officially recognized.

In that situation, the goalkeeper has the full picture. He’s facing the play. The centre-back is goal-side and reacting. If the ball is clearly claimable, the keeper must: • Call early • Call loudly • Be decisive “Leave it” has to come before the defender commits. If there’s hesitation, the centre-back attacks it instinctively. That split second of doubt creates the chaos. Communication on crosses is non-negotiable at this level. It’s not optional leadership — it’s a core responsibility. That said, it’s rarely 100% one player’s fault. Questions to ask technically: • Was the delivery too close to the six-yard box? • Did the defensive line track runners properly? • Did the keeper set his starting position early enough? Top goalkeepers dominate their box vocally. If that’s an area lacking, it has to improve — especially in tight title races where margins are microscopic. This isn’t about scapegoating. It’s about standards. If you want to win leagues, those moments must be controlled. Not survived.

David Raya lacks communication towards his defenders. As an experienced and good goal keeper, in situations like that he needed to shout to Gabriel to leave the ball for him to catch, because Gabriel was facing front and he, Raya was behind him to communicate to Gabriel to leave the ball for him to catch. That's Raya fault. He did the same mistake against Sunderland in their first leg with them, him and Gabriel. Now Arteta is a very good coach.. Aggressive and disciplined towards his players to win matches, but his decisions sometimes make Arsenal to lose matches. You can't just remove a player that is playing well keeping the momentum of the game going. Madueke was in the game 100 percent forcing the attack. Hincapie was also in the game helping the attack, why removing them? If Arsenal doesn't win the league this season, he should resign or be sacked. #arsenalfans #EPL #PremierLeague #TrendingPost2026 #bottle #Arteta #Arsenal #ArsenalFC #raya #gabrielmagalhaes #gabriel #fyp #football #footballnews #trendingnow #highlights #everyone

🚨✍️ What is the essence of signing Christian Norgaard when you are not willing to use him... He played fantastic well against Wigan but Mikel Arteta so obsessed with using Martin Zubimendi.... Just got everything wrong today by not starting Eze alongside Saka!!! Arteta should leave Arsenal... Very pathetic.... Mikel Arteta working for Manchester City in disguise!!!!

I woke up this morning to see that Wolverhampton Wanderers equalised in the last minute to draw 2-2 with Arsenal last night. 🥺 Just two weeks ago, Arsenal were 8 points clear of Manchester City. Now, after back-to-back draws, if City win their next game, the gap will be reduced to just 2 points. 💔 Arsenal’s last 7 Premier League games: ✅ Two wins ➖ Four draws ❌ One loss 10 points won, 11 points dropped. They are also playing Tottenham in the next Premier league game away from home 👀 Just like always… the Premier League title is gradually slipping out of their hands. I honestly feel for this team. Every season, it’s the same heartbreak. 💔 Àlàbí Tolúlọpẹ́ Michael ATM ✍🏾️ #ATMSports

Saka: Low dressing room spirits, we must reflect on recent games Arsenal played out a 2-2 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home in Matchweek 31 of the Premier League. After the final whistle, Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka spoke to Sky Sports. On the current mood in the dressing room, Saka said: “The atmosphere is really low. We’re extremely disappointed with the result, especially our second-half performance, which was nowhere near the standards we set for ourselves at the start of the season. Now is the time to really reflect on our recent form, fix things immediately, and get back to winning ways, go on a run, and regain our momentum — because we’ve definitely lost a bit of it right now.” “We need to get back to the level we know we’re capable of and get the basics right. This team has more than enough quality to win games, especially in these recent matches where we’ve dropped points. We have to sort this out, and that’s our sole focus right now.”

Arsenal have picked up three wins in their first eight Premier League matches in 2026 When we say we are supporting manchester city this is the reason.

Bukayo Saka on the mood in the dressing room: “It’s very flat, we’re very disappointed with the result & especially with how we played in the second half, it’s far from the level that we’ve set this season.”

Artetas usage of Eze tells you everything you need to know about how Arteta sees football and what he values. Give Pep or Klopp an Eze and they'll see a brilliant technician who can carry, dribble pass and shoot. What does Arteta see? A liability off the ball who cannot chase down opponents and close gaps. He manages through fear of opposition and insecurity.
|
🚨🚨| Arsenal have only picked up 13 points from a possible 24 since the turn of the year. 😬 Who's to blame !! ARTETA OR THE PLAYER'S OR THE BALL?

Arsenal’s next six fixtures: Tottenham (a) Chelsea (h) Brighton (a) Mansfield Town (a) Everton (h) Manchester City (n)

Arteta says finishing 2nd in the league is still a very good result. 👀
