I’ll Be Buried Politically If Fubara Wins Second Term – Wike The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has claimed that his political career would suffer irreparable damage if Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, secures a second term in office. Wike made the remark on Saturday while addressing stakeholders at a meeting in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State. Although the FCT minister did not mention the governor by name, he warned that a firm decision had already been taken regarding the 2027 governorship contest. Wike said: “We have made a decision as far as Tinubu is concerned. The other one (Fubara’s re-election) — no way. Because if we make another mistake, then we will go and bury ourselves politically. I will not allow myself to be buried. I will not allow that mistake again. “So everybody should know we have made a decision.” The FCT minister has intensified his criticism of Fubara since the governor defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) last month. Wike accused the governor of violating the terms of a peace agreement reached before the lifting of the emergency rule in the state, which enabled Fubara’s return to office. Earlier in the week, Wike said what he described as a “leadership mistake” in Rivers would be corrected in 2027, promising to disclose details of the agreement that restored Fubara to power. “We will not make the same mistake again at the state level in 2027, but we will talk about it later when the time comes,” he said, adding that leaders should prioritise the will of the people over personal interests. https://osundefender.com/ill-be-buried-politically-if-fubara-wins-second-term-wike/

Vice President Shettima warned Wike over APC affairs The Vice President has sent a strong message to the minister of FCT by way of responding to his media parleys he held in his own state Rivers State and making a clarification of a state leader by virtue of their status, that in APC, the state governors are the leaders of their states. The Vice President Kashim Shettima who was emphatic in his message to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, stating that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is the leader of the APC in Rivers State. The Vice President made this disclosure in Enugu State during an event he attended in solidarity with the APC in the state. He emphasized that he is the Vice President of Nigeria and the second-in-command both in the country and within the All Progressives Congress, APC . Shettima explained that in his home state of Borno, the leader of the party is the sitting governor, Professor Babagana Zulum. Similarly, although Godswill Akpabio is the Senate President and number three in the nation, Governor Umo Eno remains the leader of the APC in Akwa Ibom State. He further cited Kaduna State, where Governor Uba Sani is the leader of the party, and Enugu State, where Governor Peter Mbah leads the APC structure. According to the Vice President, this principle applies across all states, including Rivers State. Wike has been advised to take note of this clarification in order to avoid unnecessary political complications. As at the time of filing in this report, the FCT minister is yet to respond to the Vice President outburst/statement. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1K2dJJyoyh/

I hear that people are boasting that they (President Tinubu) will call me and give me instructions. Let me tell you, there's nothing like instruction as far as Rivers State is concerned. Nobody will call me. If you like shout 'on your mandate' 50 times a day, it won't give you automatic ticket. - FCT Minister Nyesom Wike Wike will be heavily disgrace by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the end. Fubara will win his ticket in APC and he wins. Wike will only be ranting and wailing niiiii |
“I find it unfortunate that a member of the NWC, who is the Vice Chairman of the South-South zone of the APC, was referring to a governor in our party as a ‘so-called governor of Rivers State’. No matter what his allegiances are to anybody, it is unbecoming of somebody holding such a sensitive position, and it should not be encouraged by anybody. “Even if the governor is not in our party, you can’t refer to an elected governor as a ‘so-called governor’ in order to please anybody. The office of the governor is an exalted position, and whoever is occupying it must be respected, irrespective of whatever political differences you have or whatever animosity exists between them,” ~National Secretary of the APC, Ajibola Basiru

BREAKING NEWS The National Secretary of the APC, Ajibola Basiru, in an interview with Sunday PUNCH, said Fubara had the full support of the party for his re-election campaign. “Nobody can frustrate any APC governor. Fubara, like other APC governors, is running the affairs of his state well, he added. Congratulations in advance, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS Governor of Rivers State.

Bola Oyebamiji Pledges Agricultural Revolution for Osun State. Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, has declared agriculture the cornerstone of his vision for the state. Speaking with journalists in Osogbo, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji popularly known as "Ambo" described the sector as the fundamental bedrock of the Osun State economy. He emphasized that Osun’s status as an agrarian state provides a natural path toward rapid development. According to the candidate, the state possesses the potential to not only achieve internal food security but also to become a primary food supplier for neighboring states. To realize this vision, Ambo promised that his administration would provide farmers with modern equipment, high-quality inputs, and direct incentives. Bola Oyebamiji highlighted agriculture as a vital tool for youth empowerment, noting that the transition to modern farming methods will boost production and create sustainable careers. By integrating technology into the sector, he aims to make farming more attractive and profitable for the tech-savvy youth of Osun. Expanding on his rural development strategy, the candidate noted that a revamped agricultural sector would lead to the revitalization of rural communities. He explained that by fixing the value chain, from planting to processing, his administration would reduce post-harvest losses and ensure that farmers get the maximum value for their labor, effectively lifting thousands out of poverty. AMBO also touched upon the importance of public-private partnerships, stating that his government would create an enabling environment for large-scale investors to collaborate with local smallholders. This synergy, he believes, will position Osun as a leading industrial hub for agro-allied industries in the South-West region. He concluded by enjoining the good people of Osun to support his vision by voting for him in the upcoming election. He stressed that a vote for the APC is a vote for food security, economic stability, and a future where no citizen of the state goes hungry.
