Do interviews and parade themselves happily for being terrorists

Under Jonathan, Boko Haram and Bandits used to hide in the forest and most of them will cover their faces. Under Tinubu, Boko Haram and Bandits open their faces, keep their victims in the open and hold direct meetings with our military. Never thought our nation can be held captive like this by criminals and terrorists alike. It is really SAD! Ire o✌🏽

Soyinka to FG: Apologise to Igboho over invasion of his residence By Oluseye Ojo Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka has called on the Federal Government to apologise to Yoruba nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, over the invasion of his Ibadan residence by a combined team of the Department of State Security (DSS) and Nigerian Army on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Soyinka described the invasion, which led to the killing of two of Igboho’s aides and the arrest of 13 supporters, as “unlawful and criminal”. He made the call in a video posted by Igboho’s media aide, Olayomi Koiki, saying the government should stop pursuing Igboho as a criminal and instead offer him an apology. “My advice is not so much to Igboho but to the government that they should stop pursuing this person as a criminal because you (government) have begun by acting in a criminal fashion against him. “If and when Igboho comes to trial, I guarantee you that the government will be very embarrassed. It’s not in the interest of the government.” Soyinka urged the government to “tell Igboho we made a mistake, we should not have acted this way, you are no longer wanted, go back to your home and in fact escort him to his home quietly and let him resume his normal life.” The Nobel Laureate also questioned the government’s declaration of Igboho as wanted, saying he has probably gone underground to protect himself and continue his struggle. “I’m not talking about the secessionist aspect. I’m talking about what Igboho came out to do and I believe it is still his mission in this nation to protect, defend his own people and to let the aggressors know that they are not lords of this nation and not any section of it apart from what they are constitutionally entitled to,” he said. Soyinka warned that if Igboho is brought to trial, the government would be embarrassed, saying it is up to Igboho to decide what to do next. “He knows what the circumstances were. He knows what happened before his people were killed and he’s the only one who can decide for himself. I cannot advise him,” he said. The invasion of Igboho’s residence was carried out during the regime of former President Muhammadu Buhari, over allegations that he was stockpiling arms and ammunition. https://thesun.ng/soyinka-to-fg-apologise-to-igboho-over-invasion-of-his-residence/?fbclid=Iwb21leAN6atdjbGNrA3pqLGV4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDDM1MDY4NTUzMTcyOAABHgByoWr1n1WaQdhumP0XmNPRF2AfZjWp01gapWsl4_62WSXr7Xiff8Gja_Gv_aem__-6MJxVge_Egjr81fH_g1g

Legal action against Chief Malcolm Emokiniovo Omirhobo.https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0tXDK7MtsM79QdpeG6xx4HtG8CgHrszmpM9fcejYPEPCLB2B7uYKEop3Y1tRDrCAPl&id=100044377838102&mibextid=Nif5oz Gumi Gives Lawyer 48 Hours To Retract ‘Defamatory’ Terrorism Claims Islamic cleric, Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, has threatened to institute legal action against human rights lawyer, Chief Malcolm Emokiniovo Omirhobo, over alleged defamatory and inciting remarks aimed at damaging his reputation and provoking religious tension in Nigeria. In a statement issued on Thursday, Gumi demanded that Omirhobo retract his “defamatory allegations” and tender an unreserved public apology within 48 hours or face legal proceedings for defamation and incitement. The cleric’s threat comes in response to a press statement earlier released by Chief Omirhobo titled “Terrorism Apology Is a Crime: Government Must Investigate and Prosecute Sheikh Ahmad Gumi.” Omirhobo had accused Sheikh Gumi of “publicly justifying and defending terrorists who are maiming, killing, kidnapping, raping, and displacing innocent Nigerians.” The Lagos-based lawyer cited several legal provisions, including sections of the 1999 Constitution, the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act of 2022, the Criminal Code Act, and the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, to back his call for an immediate government investigation and possible prosecution of the Kaduna-based cleric.

Nigeria Senate and the house of reps are divided over Trump sanctions already. |
Nigerian Senator Backs Trump’s Call, Says Nigeria Cannot Yet Account For Leah Sharibu, Other Chibok Schoolgirls In a statement titled “Alleged Genocide: My Stance On President Trump’s Statement,” and issues on Thursday, Dickson emphasised that while Nigeria’s sovereignty must be respected, the country must also embrace global partnerships to combat terrorism and restore peace. Former Governor of Bayelsa State and serving Senator, Seriake Dickson, has expressed support for former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent comments on the mass killings in Nigeria, describing Trump’s position as “a wake-up call to action.” In a statement titled “Alleged Genocide: My Stance On President Trump’s Statement,” and issues on Thursday, Dickson emphasised that while Nigeria’s sovereignty must be respected, the country must also embrace global partnerships to combat terrorism and restore peace. "I wish to state, firstly, that Nigeria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national institutions must be respected by all. At the same time, I fully support any collaborative action aimed at eradicating the murderous bands of terrorists who have wantonly slaughtered thousands of our countrymen and women — Christians, Muslims, and people of other faiths alike," he said. The senator, who represents Bayelsa West, recounted how terrorist groups such as Boko Haram, ISWAP, ISIS, al-Qaeda, and others have “wreaked unimaginable havoc” across Nigeria for nearly 15 years. "They introduced suicide bombing in Nigeria and began a murderous campaign, especially in Borno State, from which it gradually spread across the northeastern part of our country," he stated. Dickson lamented that both Christians and Muslims had been victims of the violence. "Places of worship — both churches and mosques, as well as palaces and traditional rulers have not been spared in their bloodbath. School children have been kidnapped, killed, or forcefully married off," he said, adding that the whereabouts of Leah Sharibu and several Chibok girls remained unknown. "Till today, Nigeria has not fully accounted for the whereabouts of many of these students — for instance, Leah Sharibu and some Chibok girls remain missing," Dickson added. According to him, the terrorists continue to control territories in states such as Borno, Zamfara, and Katsina, where they impose taxes and operate outside Nigerian laws. "This is a direct affront to Nigeria’s sovereignty and should not be tolerated any further. President Trump’s statement is a wake-up call to action," he said. Dickson revealed that the Nigerian Senate has consistently raised concerns about the escalating violence. "Hardly a week passes without a member of the Senate drawing attention to reports of killings and attacks on villages in one constituency or the other," he said. He added that the Senate recently proposed a National Security Summit and directed its leadership to engage with the presidency on dispatching “a non-partisan team of experts and statesmen to Washington D.C.” The senator also criticised the failures of successive governments, citing allegations of state complicity during former President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure. "Late President Buhari’s policy of appointing mostly Muslims to head all the security services during his eight years in office further worsened these perceptions," he noted. "We need help! No nation can confront terrorism in isolation," Dickson declared. He urged President Bola Tinubu to "collaborate with President Donald Trump, the US Government, and other allies and friends of Nigeria to flush out these marauding terrorists." He further called for the swift appointment of ambassadors to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic capacity. "This anomaly should be corrected as soon as possible to enable our country maximise its diplomatic resources and options," he said. "May God help Nigeria," the statement concluded. His comments come as mixed reactions trail the threat of Donald Trump to carry out military operations in Nigeria and labeling the country as that of "Particular Concern". Credit: Sahara Reporters
