guest1234: I Finally Chose to Walk Away from My Marriage
After deep reflection and repeated attempts to make things work, I have decided to step away from my marriage for the sake of my peace, safety, and well-being.
For a long time, I have endured constant physical and emotional abuse from my wife. During disagreements, she often resorts to violence, slapping, hitting, and using hurtful words. On several occasions, she has even threatened me with sharp objects such as knives and scissors. Unfortunately, today, she carried out that threat and stabbed me in the neck. By the grace of God, it wasn’t fatal, but it was the final straw that made me realize I cannot continue living in fear.
Throughout our marriage, I have done my best to provide for our home and ensure we lacked nothing. Despite my efforts, I have never received her support, emotionally, mentally, or otherwise. I have never raised my hand against her, yet that restraint has often been taken for weakness, giving her the boldness to abuse me repeatedly.
My family, having witnessed much of what I’ve gone through, has now asked her to leave and packed her belongings. She has quarreled with nearly every member of my family and remains in conflict with them.
This decision to end the marriage is not out of anger but self-preservation. I am choosing to prioritize my mental, emotional, and physical health. I have nothing to hide and no intention to tarnish her image; I am only speaking the truth about my experience.
From this point forward, I am focused on healing, rebuilding, and finding peace again. good decisions from you here |

Ibadan Circular Road: I’ll only talk to real property owners not politically motivated protesters–Makinde
Governor Seyi Makinde has dismissed ongoing protests against the Ibadan Circular Road project as politically orchestrated, insisting he will only engage genuine property owners affected by the development.
Speaking on Wednesday at the official commissioning of Ibadan Central Bus Terminal at Iwo Road, the governor said it was unfortunate that some individuals had chosen to politicize a project designed to bring long-term economic and infrastructural benefits to Oyo State.
He noted that truly productive and responsible citizens would not abandon their livelihoods to spend three straight days on the streets “pretending to protest” against development.
“Those who are genuinely affected will not be on the streets, they’ll be at their various places of work.
“I will not engaging those who are being sponsored to disrupt progress. The real property owners, those who have valid documents and legitimate concerns, will be attended to directly.”
The governor also addressed the wave of criticism directed at him since the protests began, saying he was aware of the many unflattering names being used against him on social media and in public discussions.
However, he maintained that his commitment to the state’s development remains unshaken.
“I’ve heard all sorts of things being said about me, and I’m not moved. Leadership requires focus and courage. If you’re doing the right thing for your people, you must be ready to be called names,” Makinde said.
Makinde emphasized that the 113-kilometre Ibadan Circular Road project, though challenging, is a cornerstone of his administration’s vision for sustainable growth and urban expansion.
He explained that the road, when completed, will ease traffic congestion, open up new economic corridors, and attract more investment to the state.
To deepen transparency and direct engagement, the governor announced that beginning next week, he would lead an inspection tour of the project sites alongside Ibadan mogajis, traditional rulers, members of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), and other key stakeholders.
“This isn’t just about a road; it’s about the future of Ibadan. We’ll take our traditional institutions and respected community leaders on-site so they can see the progress for themselves. That’s the level of accountability we owe our people,” Makinde said.
Former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, in a brief remark on the criticism against Makinde called on the governor to remain courageous and focused.
He explained that criticism remains part of a public life of a leader who is achieving results. He expressed pride in Makinde’s accomplishments as a governor particularly in the area of infrastructural development.

Section 218 of the 1999 constitution(as amended):
A Minister in Nigeria(Wike for instance) does not have the right to command a soldier.
Constitutional & Legal Basis Under Section 218 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended):
Exclusive Command Authority: 🚨The President, as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has the sole power to determine the operational use of the armed forces and to appoint senior officers. No Ministerial Command Over Soldiers:
The Minister of Defence (or any other minister) is a civilian political head of the ministry. Their role is policy formulation, administration, and oversight—not operational command. Chain of Command: Operational orders to soldiers flow only from the President Chief of Defence Staff Service Chiefs Commanders in the field.
A minister cannot issue direct orders to troops.

FreeStuffsNG: OFFICER YERIMA BREACHED THE LAW IN THAT FACEOFF WITH NYESOM WIKE:
Brushing sentiments aside, I hereby condemn in totality the actions of the Naval Officer, A.M. Yerima, who obstructed the FCT Minister from gaining access into that parcel of land, under the guise of ‘obeying superior orders.’ The duty of a junior officer to obey the orders of his superiors, even though strongly upheld in military and paramilitary circles, has its own limitations recognised by no other authority but the Supreme Court of Nigeria. I shall establish this anon.
In the recent case of Onunze vs. State (2023) 8 NWLR (Pt. 1885) 61 at 108 SC, the Supreme Court held emphatically, per Ogunwunmiju, JSC, thus:
“My Lords, the obligation to obey the orders of a superior does not include orders that are palpably illegal or manifestly unjust. Every military or police officer swears an oath upon commissioning. The Oath is not to obey all orders, it is to “preserve”, “protect” and defend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria against all enemies, foreign and domestic. When an officer obeys palpably illegal orders, they become personally liable for their actions and would be expected to face court martial or official sanction for the wrongdoing.”
In the earlier decision of Nigeria Air Force vs. James (2002) 18 NWLR (Pt. 798) 295 at 324 SC, Onu, JSC, delivering the lead judgment of the Supreme Court, held firmly, subjugating military personnel to civilian authority and disparaging obedience to illegal orders, as follows:
“See the case of Pius Nwaogu v. The State (1972) 1 All NLR 149 where it was held, inter alia, that "a soldier is responsible to Military and Civil Law and it is monstrous to suppose that a soldier could be protected when the order is grossly and manifestly illegal. Of course, there is the other proposition that a soldier is only bound to obey lawful orders and is responsible if he obeys an order not strictly lawful.’"
The illegality in that order stems primarily from the fact that no service law of the military permits a serving military officer to mount guard at the private construction site of his boss, especially under suspicious circumstances like this. The retired Naval Officer ought, under the circumstances, to have engaged the civil police, if he suspected likelihood of arson or criminal trespass.
Additionally, Barr. Nyesom Wike is the equivalent of Governor of a State – he being the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. More importantly, all lands in the FCT Abuja, by section 297(2) of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria, 1999 as amended, belong to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. By section 302 of the same Constitution, read together with other extant Acts of the National Assembly, the President of Nigeria has delegated all powers with respect to land administration in the FCT Abuja to the Hon. Minister. Going by constitutional and administrative law, therefore, Mr. Wike stood in loco the President of Nigeria and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces on that fateful day. Consequently, even if the superior officer were still in service, he would not disobey Mr. Wike or obstruct him from entering the land. This was an affront to the civil authority of Mr. President.
The Minister’s method may be brash; but it is legal and lawful in all respects. Rather, it is the officer who obstructed him that has breached not just the Nigerian Constitution, but also service and extant regulatory laws. For the avoidance of any doubt, section 114 of the Armed Forces Act makes military personnel criminally liable for civil offences. This means the officer in question could be arraigned before a Court Martial for obstructing a public officer from performing his public duties, et cetera.
In conclusion, celebrating the humiliation of Nyesom Wike, simply because he is a ‘big man’ or simply because he is not liked by certain persons begs the real issue here. If such intolerable conduct by the young officer is not punished or is celebrated, this may unleash a reign of terror by the men in khaki against hapless civilians – with a grin or boast that ‘we did it to Wike and nothing happened.’ This is not Nigeria of our dream! I rest my case here.

enemyofprogress: This particular soldier was specifically chosen for this mission by those who sent him, and he delivered excellently. Wike should be worried and careful because something is not right.
In the first slide, Wike was seen speaking with the CDS. In the second, he handed his own phone to the military officer to speak with the CDS. In the last slide, the military personnel was speaking with the CDS.
After the calls, the officer still insisted that Wike could not enter the land, and at the end of all the gra gra, Wike left the premises while the soldiers stood their ground.
Common sense should tell you that even the CDS Wike called didn’t give the order he was expecting.
That means the officer was acting under a higher or well defined instruction, not mere politics. Wike should be worried because that soldier’s calm confidence came from authority and backing.
When a military man refuses to bend, even after you call the Chief of Defence Staff, it means the matter has gone beyond your influence.
And then, a supposed FCT Minister calling the CDS to report, and even handing his own phone to a military officer to speak with the CDS, is a clear sign of a struggling authority, a man whose power is being quietly tested and possibly reduced. It shows desperation, not leadership. the owner of the property has legit documents to back up his property in the court of justice. Wike can't grab the land here |

THE LAND, OWNER, AND WIKE.
" The land was acquired by VADM AZ GAMBO in 2020 with all the legal documents. In September 2025, the Admiral decided to develop his land and after about a week the Development Control Council came around and asked for the documents and building approval the engineer showed them. • After two days, they came back and stated that the land had been revoked by the current FCT Minister with no conditions provided. Efforts have been made to reach out to him to ask why. • But they proffered no concrete or genuine reasons. Then they came to stop the work which prompted us to pursue them. The Minister came around on Saturday and issued enough threats stating that they were coming to bring the building down. • Earlier today around 11 AM, two bulldozers from Development Control came to bring the building down but we refused them. They called Wike and then he sent the FCT Commissioner of Police. Despite all efforts being abortive,He came down himself and that’s when we blocked him from the entrance not grant him access to the facility. • He had to call the Chief of Defence Staff and reported the matter. The CDS spoke with the officer that they should come down they are on top the situation .
