Imagine Adeleke government giving out casava stems to the less privileged using working sticks to work in osun. It’s very unfortunate we are witnessing this bad government in osun state. Ahead of the September 21 Edo State governorship election, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, said he wouldn’t support Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Wike stated this on Friday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

He also pledged not to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo, who is being backed by the outgoing Edo State Governor.

The FCT Minister also described the governor as an ingrate.

“I told them when they came to me that I am not going to support you, neither am I going to support anybody. The one I supported, it never helped anything. Rather I was insulted.

“I supported him the last time, what happened? I became a stupid man,” Wike said.

When asked if he would support the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, Wike said he is not a member of the party.

Mole in PDP?
During the show, the FCT Minister said no PDP member can call him an outsider or as a mole engaging in anti-party activities.

He dared party chieftains, governors and members of the party to go on national television to defend the allegation that he worked against the party in any way.

“There is nobody, no governor today in PDP, not anybody born of a woman can say I am an outsider. I dare anybody in the PDP to come out on national television. I dare any governor, I dare any National Working Committee member, to come out on national television to say I am a mole,” he said.

Wike stated that President Bola Tinubu had written to his party both at the ward and the national levels, before he accepted his appointment as the FCT Minister in the current administration as he had never hidden his motives for whatever he did.

“Before I took this appointment, I wrote to PDP. I wrote to PDP National; I wrote to PDP Zonal; I wrote to PDP in my state. My governor also signed a letter, that I should take the appointment. Yes, it’s true. The zonal party wrote that I should accept. Who in the PDP did not write or nominate names by President Tinubu for appointment?

“They did. Yes! Let them come to say they did not do it. You see the problem we have in this country is that some people think they are too smart, they want to use people; I’m not that kind of person. What I want to do, I will do; what I will not do, everybody knows I won’t do it”, Wike stated.

PDP sold out Governor Fubara of Rivers State. In politics, you either win or lose. When you win, you are expected to inflict maximum pain on your opponent and render them useless to prevent them from Challenging you in future.

Despite governor Ambode’s softness towards Lagos political stakeholders that said No to his second term ambition, he was almost impeached. This is politics where “PITY” is the ingredient for failure.

APC demands probe of Osun gov’s aide over alleged contract fraud

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Sunday demanded the probe of Mr Kazeem Akinleye, the Chief of Staff to the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, over alleged involvement in contract fraud.

The APC, in a statement by its spokesperson, Mr Kola Olabisi, urged the governor to hand over Akinleye to the Code of Conduct Bureau for probe for allegedly using his office to corner a N297m Tertiary Education Trust Fund contract belonging to the University of Osun, to his company, Akinsas Interbiz Limited.

Olabisi also said the allegation against Akinleye was weighty enough to warrant a probe, urging Adeleke not to delay further.

“The governor’s explainer that Akinleye is not culpable because he is not a member of the UNIOSUN Governing Council or a member of the board of directors of TETFUND is spurious just as it is vacuous.

“Does it mean the governor himself can deploy the instrumentality of his office to curry favour or contract for his company in the state-owned institutions under a pretext that he resigned his directorship on assumption of office?

“The drafters of the law did not envisage that a public officer would resign his or her interest in a company only for such a business entity to land mouth-watering contracts in the state where the founder of the company is a key policy maker and administrator.

“While we hold that Akinkas Interbiz Limited is at liberty to bid for contracts in any public institutions in the country, despite the current status of its founder, it becomes inappropriate if such business activities include hustling for contracts in state-owned institutions in Osun, where Mr Kazeem Akinleye is the alpha and omega and the de facto governor,” Olabisi said.

The Coalition for Good Governance and Economic Justice in Africa (GGEJA) has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately redeploy the Edo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Anuhbum Onuoha, ahead of the September 21 governorship election.



In a statement issued in Benin, the group’s Country Director, Mr John Mayaki, accused Dr. Onuoha of partisanship and affiliation with an interested party in the election. Mayaki alleged that Dr. Onuoha is a card-carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State and loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike.

The group expressed concerns that Dr. Onuoha’s alleged partisanship could compromise the credibility of the election, and therefore, demanded his immediate redeployment.

According to Mayaki, “Dr. Anugbum Onuoha serves as the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Edo State. He hails from Rivers State and has previously served as the Special Adviser on Lands and Survey to the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, and was an active card-carrying member of the PDP.


“These affiliations and backgrounds have raised concerns about his possible biases and conflicts of interest in the September 21st governorship election in Edo State.”


“Professor Yakubu should forestall an impending electoral crisis in Edo State by heeding the insistent outcry, petitions, and protests by the people of Edo State, political parties, and civil society organisations calling for the removal of Dr Anugbum Onuoha, who is seen as partisan and owing allegiance to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.”

“The people of Edo State cannot and will not accept any electoral process with Dr. Anugbum Onuoha as REC, given his past records and political affiliations. His redeployment out of Edo State is the only way to restore confidence in the electoral process, guarantee a credible election, and avert a crisis in the state.”

The Coalition said that the integrity of an election relied on the confidence of the electorate in the electoral process.

“Dr. Anugbum Onuoha has lost the rectitude required of a Resident Electoral Commissioner and should not be part of the conduct of the September 21st, 2024, governorship election in Edo State.”

“Therefore, the Coalition restates its demand that the INEC Chairman immediately redeploy Dr Anugbum Onuoha out of Edo State to restore the confidence of the people and the integrity of the electoral process.” The group reiterated

Former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and his loyalists have reportedly pulled out of the All Progressives Congress.
Giving an update about this development on Sunday, a core loyalist to Aregbesola and former Egbedore caretaker member, Hon. Adabanija Oladepo, said the group will soon announce a new party.
