Op don't u tink u r promoting tribalism. Aftrall, other ethnic groups hv their own,yet u chose d north. Pls beta research on d 1st igbo xtian female wing commander n also dat of yoruba, urhobo, Tiv, idoma, etc
ceometromedia:
Hajara began her career as a non-commissioned officer in 1986. She rose to become the first Hausa Muslim woman from a core Northern state to reach the rank of Wing Commander, equivalent to Lieutenant Colonel in the Army.

Hajara, a daughter of late Marafan Birnin Kudu, Colonel Bashari Umaru, from Birnin Kudu in Jigawa State, is currently the Chief Matron of Armed Forces Medical Hospital, Kano. She has been to war in Congo, served at Ibadan, Kaduna, among other places within the country.

She was born in Dorayi Quarters on March 19, 1964, and grew up in Yakasai quarters of Kano, and later began her early education at wagwarwa Primary School, and later joined St. Louis Primary School.

Being a bright student, Hajara gained admission into Queen’s College, Lagos and St. Louis Secondary School, Kano. She would have chosen the former option but for her dad’s transfer to Kano. After completing her secondary education, she joined School of Nursing, Kano.

It was at that school that she took the decision to join the Nigerian Air Force, following recruitment drive for medical personnel.

"It was actually a dramatic situation. My mom Hajiya didn’t like it at all. And my dad pretends that he also didn’t like it in order to please her. But he actually encouraged me and respected my choice," the widow said.

David0:
Hello Nairalanders.

Something happened today on my way from the office that really got me sad with the way some of us consciously loiter our environment without thinking twice.

Everyday we see the Lagos State cleaners doing their routine cleaning but by close of business the whole place is messed up.

This goes to show that, despite government playing their part in keeping the environment clean, a lot of us don't support the government, we probably do so in our words but not in action.

On my way from the office today, I was inside Marwa wt dis lady who was eating whatever, but as soon as she's done, she threw the nylon on the road. I had to caution her, that it would have been better she threw it inside the Marwa or better still keep it, when she sees a waste been, throw it there, rather than on the road.

This behavior, I've come across so many times, and on each occasion I had to correct whoever is involved.

This is really not nice, especially considering the elderly women doing the cleaning on the road. After all the wahala with peanut salary, we still go ahead to loiter the place like babies that needs to be corrected.

Let our conscience judge us in whatever we do. Let's have it in mind that government's effort in making the state conducive and clean for us, will continue to be just an effort if we don't support them in our own little way.

Let us also ensure we correct if not embarrass whoever we see loitering the environment, especially those who throw things from the vehicle.

Government should also make it a law prohibiting such behavior.

Stay Clean!

what? this is not right.

Arrest a mom and child over the husbands business? even the British Police that created the Nigeria Constabulary( Present Police Force) will be ashamed, when they hear how Policing is being carried out here.

This is not just an illegal detention, but it is also an abuse of human right especially as regard her son. If only this woman can afford a good lawyer, to sue the Nigeria Police for this barbaric act.

Don't you think there is a correlation between Nigerian Syria to some extent.
Don't forget that both countries are locked in a longstanding arms conflict.

And at such it provides a veritable platform for Nigeria to lay her case equally to the international community for the strategic support and partnership she needs, as regards to taming violent extremism.

Good points u v made bt the govt of d day r nt help matters. President z on frequent travels wch is draining a little part of our foreign as he z spending in dollars n nt naira.

D diversification talk is lip service n no sign has bn shown so far.

Oil z still d focal resource of economy.

No direction of economic policy 2 aid n attract foreign investors

CBN z confused in its monetary policies.

Security z still a big issue even under buhari.

Local producers r nt bn encouraged.

I jst hope baba's case won't be worse than Jonathan's
2rutalk1:
The President is hesitant because our economy may not actually reap the benefits of devaluation for now because we are import dependent economy - we have little or nothing to export to other countries. Therefore, even if our currency is devalued and import is discouraged as it is always the case, can our importers source the products locally? This will worsen the situation. What we need to do now is to diversify our economy, make the business/macroeconomic environment conducive, and ultimately, pursue import substitution strategy of industrialization. Import substitution strategy is a situation whereby goods and services that are hitherto imported from foreign countries are manufactured locally.
