No! Tsiya i dont concour wit wat u said Arewa is right i think its tme we gve the religious parties the chance 2 tke part in politices who know may be God will show mercy on Nigeria and change our misfortunes.wat do you think. cool
You see the problem we have in Nigeria is lack of justice and good governance. By all means, if religious organisations in Nigeria are allowed to form poltical parties, then even the little freedom we have for freedom of expression will be seriously suppress. You dont expect anybody to come out and criticise a religious leader, and when you do, u are in trouble, course his followers will be after you.

Religious leaders are the biggest dictators you will ever get. Take a look at all the religious organisations we have in Nigeria, from the Islamic to the Christain organisations. The leaders are the Alpha and Omega.

And moreover in Nigeria, u already have within different sects calling others as non believers or evil.
What is happening between the izala sect and the darika sects
what is happening between TB Josua and Adeboye

If religious leaders are giving political power . . . I can just imagine Kano!!!!

But by giving them the opportunity to participate in the politics, it will create a new dimension for them, and say, hey, if we want to win, then we have to soften our belief, we have to do this and that in order to win people's heart, as such, they will do everything possible to get people vote for them.

You see, by getting them into politics, they will forget about force, because their absence in the politics makes them think that the only way for them is through violence.
It is not by getting to them into politics. It is a known fact that religious leaders are the greatest milkers of all time. They have no job, no profession, no business, just doing maula from one maikudi to another mai kudi and blaming masu kudi for not giving zakkat.

This whole problem will not not start if our elites have provided education for everybody and also equal distribution of wealth. The elite and the educated have cornered all the resources in the country. How can you explain a situation where the official car of a local goverment chairman is more than the budget of a local hospital? How can you explain the massively built and gated houses that littered all GRA quaters in the north and the vast majority of the people can not even find a place to sleep. How can you explain the Noise that comes from the house of the rich people generating sets every night, disturbing our sleep and chocking us with fumes, while they sleep happily in their air conditioned, window closed mansions. How can you explain the difference between private and public schools. How can you explain the closure of Nigerian Universities while the children of the rich people are in Malaysia, UK, and US studying. . . .

May be, May be, May be in ur new Arewa republic. I dont trust any religious leader. They are selfish, greedy, and power drunk. Religious parties in the north will bring more violence nd blood shed.

I have a technical question about the virgin thang. Will they all still remain virgins after the first night of wanton lust with our Martyred Majahedeen, and if not, what paperwork will that illiterate be required to to fill in order to requisition fresh virgins as replacements for those he has already road-tested ?
u know the supply of the virgins is continous, uninturrupted . . . anytime he wishes to hav new, he get them. . .no paper work is needed

are u jelous? wink

These 300 or so people killed are killed mostly by the police.

Donvilo:
Personally, I wouldn't befriend any of them b'cos, I don't know who is who. Since everybody knows who this guys really are, why would one go ahead and make friends with such kind of people? I just wonder if there are still good cops out there in Nigeria.
You see in general, Nigerian Police Force are not the friend of the masses. They are friend of the government and the rich people.

However, as an individual living in Nigeria, u need a friend who is a policeman, because in Nigeria, oneday, somebody will get you in trouble or you get urself in trouble, since nearly all cases in Nigeria are dealt with at the police station, your friend might be very handy that day.

I hav sn instances, several, where having friend in black uniform turns out to be the best moment of some people lives

U guys should please not turn this thread into a religious war of words
Go to the religious section for that
Let's do the politicking the right way
Peace
As far as Im concern, Im not concern about the religious affiliation of these people.

Im just know there is something behind this crises. I came from that region and I know how these people work. It is not about religious crises. The whole thing is political and bad governance.

PoliticsRe: Boko Haram - Ex Govt Officials Executed! Is It Political War? by Tsiya(m): 9:35am On Aug 01, 2009
This government is going after every single opposition. The only formidable opponent PDP have in the north is in the religious group. Once they get the backing of important religious group there is a guarantee they will win.

But I assure you, keep your ear to the ground, if the election in 2011 comes, bauchi will be much hotter than u thought.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram - Ex Govt Officials Executed! Is It Political War? by Tsiya(m): 9:24am On Aug 01, 2009
It is political. In the north, there is no way u can separate religion from politics. they go hand in hand. Ask any body from Bauchi will tell you it is political and it is all about 2011. Isah Yugudah is responsible for this. These people are innocent and hav nothing to do with all this cooked stories.

Infact their is reason to believe that if these people are seriously armed, as we are made to believe, there would have been much blood shed, with so much casualty on the police and army side. Police are cooking up stories to make us believe that these people are heavily armed and need to be dispose off because of ulterior motives.

Take the case of Bauchi, the BOKO HARAM story started in Bauchi and  was cooked up by a staunch supporter of Governor Yuguda: Isah  Ibrahim in Bauchi.

The Boko Haram people are technically the people that put Isah Yuguda in power in Bauchi. When he was chased out of PDP and move to ANPP, disgruntle people who are fed up with the way things are being done in Bauchi supported him, and the staunch supporters are those young, jobless and university drop outs. They put their life in the name of "a kasa, a tsare, a raka" meaning : "we vote, we protect the vote, we escorte the votes". After the election, Yuguda renegade on his promises. He became the worst than the previous governor. After defecting to PDP, sensing that these people can stop him, he started using his proxy islamic scholars, Isah Ibrahim is among them, to brand them with all dubious names.

The answer to all this things start in Bauchi, and with Isah Yuguda.

This true. This guy was a former commissioner and twice a chairman of a local government. There is something going behind the scene. Either the whole story about Boko Haram they are trying to sell to us is mixed with lies, or somebody is hiding something.
PoliticsRe: Who Really Want Uztaz Muhammad Yusuf Died? by Tsiya(m): 8:42am On Aug 01, 2009
A two-times chairman of Kaga local government area of Borno State and a former commissioner of Religious Affairs and Water Resources, Alhaji Buji Fai who was a member of the dreaded Mohammed Yusuf sect that has been terrorising the people of Maiduguri, the Borno the State capital has been captured in his farm along Biu-Damboa road yesterday, and later killed in the early hours of today at the Police Headquarters, Maiduguri.

Alhaji Buji Fai who dumped politics and join the Boko Haram group, a sect led by the late Mallam Mohammed Yusuf, left the services of Borno State government when he was the commissioner for Religious Affairs and fully involved himself in the activities of the outlawed group.

Our correspondent reliably gathered that his farm was used to habour the families of the militant sect, where he was later arrested after a fierce gun battle with security operatives.

After he was arrested, the former commissioner demanded to meet the state governor, Senator Ali Sheriff, who was not in the office when he was taken, hands tied, to the Government House. The late Alhaji Buji was later carried to the police Headquarters where he was killed.

Meanwhile, relative peace has been restored in Maiduguri the state capital. Our correspondent who went round Maiduguri reports that after almost one week of mayhem, which saw people locked up in their houses and the streets deserted, normalcy has started to return.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria, Chinese Govts Sign N107.4 M Contract To Build Rural Schools by Tsiya(m): 7:50pm On Jul 31, 2009
According to her, “this particular assistance is unique and significant because it arises from the forum of China-African Cooperation (FOCAC) where the Chinese President, Mr. Hu Jintao, magnanimously approved the construction of hundred rural primary schools in different African countries with four being allocated to Nigeria, the highest a single country received in Africa.”

but China’s assistance is sincere and unselfish.

China never attaches any political conditions or demands any political privileges in providing aid to other developing countries.

What does that mean?

Asha . . . this your story is very ambiguous. Is it a Contract or Aid?
